I went to Bayside for the first time today and I was blown away by the experience! Particularly Parker. I cannot say enough positive things about him. First, his wonderful, kind personality. You can tell he has such a passion for making people happy! A rare quality to find nowadays. The turnout of my color blew me away. I honestly have never been happier leaving a hair salon as I was today, and i have been getting my hair colored for 10+ years. I highly recommend Bayside, and especially Parker! First cut at this salon. One of the best cuts I have had in a very long time. The owner cut my hair, but several other stylists on staff so got an appointment quickly. They also have a great selection of products and a small boutique. The salon is connected to a restaurant with a bar, a high end woman's consignment shop, a florist, custom dog treats shop and great reasonable tailor shop. Plenty to do while you wait! read more

This was my first time getting something done at this salon. They just moved two stores down and have a larger location. Their boutique is so awesome with many different things from clothing,jewelry, wine glasses, socks, coffee mugs to purses. Everything is priced wonderful in the boutique. They are a full service salon too! I got my nails done there today and I love the little room. It felt so calming and the women who did my nails was very nice. They ask you if you'd like a complimentary water and they have soft music playing to make you feel relaxed. The owners decorated the entire place themselves and they truly made you feel at home. I honestly can't recommend Stephanie enough. She always does such a terrific job with my color and highlights. If your hair gets frizzy in the humidity, I also highly recommend going to Steph for a Brazilian blowout. Not only with your hair go from frizzy to fabulous, but you will be amazed at how much it cuts down on time to dry your hair. I had Morgan cut my hair recently and was so happy with her work. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! I have very curly hair which I have found is challenging for most stylists. They often cut my hair and don't realize how much my hair will shrink when it is dry or how layers will lie differently if I wear my hair curly instead of straight. Other stylists wet my hair to cut it and it looks fine when straightened but not quite as good when worn naturally. This was not an issue with Morgan. Morgan cut my hair in a way that looks amazing whether I wear it straight or naturally curly. It would suffice to say that from here on out I will not trust anyone else to get near my hair with scissors! The boutique is also very cute and all the other employees were so friendly! read more

I can't sing enough praises about Glenn and his salon. I was in town for a wedding, and due to my hectic schedule, was unable to touch up my roots before arriving in SC. I'm naturally a dark brunette, but have since gone quite blonde. Like everyone who has ever colored their hair knows, you don't just trust anyone with that, especially root lifter (there's a very high probability of it turning orange). I was nervous about it, but I had to risk it...I mean, it was a wedding! Boy, am I glad I did. He did such a good job, that my current stylist at home keeps asking me what root lifter he used (she assumed it was color)! My hair looked fabulous at the wedding, and I owe it to Bayside. I have been going to this place for around 18 years with a couple breaks when I lived outside Charleston. While i have been seeing only Glenn , my kids got cuts and hair do's for prom from MacLane . Always consistently good. The place is run by a family and you can tell. The salon has been getting bigger and they hired more people . They are growing because they have been great in style and customer service . Highly recommendable . These are experts! I haven't looked this good since I don't know when. Glenn did my hair which is fine curly and temperamental. It's the right color, cut and glossy. Christy gave me a facial and I swear I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was a glamour queen from the movies. It's kind of tucked away in Crickentree Village, but totally worth it. Nice parking lot. Bayside salon is tucked away in a shopping plaza next to the delicious Five Loaves cafe. I actually was at lunch there one day when I noticed the salon next door so I figured I look them up and see what their reviews were. As I was perusing I noticed there was a groupon for a haircut and partial highlight. I have always been a little cautious about "groupon hair" as I call it because I've had some not so pleasant experiences in the past. I gave it a shot and man I'm sure glad I did! The groupon was with one of their stylists, Maclane. The salon was cute and comfortable. I enjoyed learning about the history of the salon and love that it's a family run business! I have been living in Mount Pleasant for a year and have been unhappy with every salon I've been to. Maclane was not only knowledgeable but she was also fun! I told her what I was thinking and she made suggestions to what she thought would be best and she was 100% right. I highly recommend this salon and supporting local family operated businesses. Glenn, Syleria and MacLaine operate a wonderful family owned and run salon conveniently located in mount pleasant. Glenn always gives my husband consistently great haircuts. Syleria is a genius with color and MacLaine is a godsend for my 13 year old stepdaughter who won't let anyone less-hip than MacLaine touch her locks. The salon is open, airy and tidy. Maclane was only interested in talking! Talk, talk, talk! I know she was probably trying to be friendly but I would've rather her put her efforts into my hair than conversation. I didn't have much confidence in her experience after about 5 minutes when she started putting color in my hair and getting the color all over my forehead. She wasn't going to wipe it off either before leaving me for a half hour for the color to set until I had to say something to her. Three days later my forehead is still black. I was going to get a cute new hairstyle as well but ended up just asking her to trim it. read more

I loved every minute of it! Bayside Salon has a warm and friendly environment you notice immediately upon entering. I don't get my hair cut often, so most of the ends are dead by the time I walk through a salon door. Maclane was very nice but realistic about what needed to be done. MacLane is friendly and executes a nice cut but is not great at taking into consideration what customers want. I typically grow my hair long, chop it to shoulder length or slightly shorter, then repeat. When I went into Bayside Salon, I had decently long hair and wanted it cut about collar bone length. I bought a groupon that included (much needed) highlights. MacLane did a fabulous job with the coloring but cut it about 2-3 inches longer than I wanted and barely layered (I wanted shorter layers). It wasn't what I went in for but I liked the way it looked so I didn't complain. I figured that because a lot of people don't actually want that much cut off, that she was scared to do it. I sent a Good friend in a few days later that wanted full color and a different cut than she had at the time. My friend was also very happy with the color but was disappointed with the cut as it was (again) not what she had asked for. I would give her 5 stars for highlights/color but only 1 star for cut. Both my friend and I have nice cuts, but it simply isn't the length we desired. read more

The worst haircut I have ever got. Barely any difference with my hair before I came for haircut. Basically MacLane only cut the hair on the back side and trim for the rest. I told her what style of haircut that I wanted even showed her the picture. However, she barely made any efforts to do so. I am very disappointed. read more
