Here's the deal... I usually don't like to write reviews about campgrounds I enjoy, because I don't want them to become too popular (got to keep a few secrets to myself!) That being said, we really love this campground, and I wanted to give them a well-deserved shout-out. We first visited in early November and liked it so much that we went back two weeks later. I was honestly surprised by some reviews claiming the owners are money-hungry or rip people off, because that was the complete opposite of our experience. We were originally supposed to stay there in October, but we had an accident that damaged our truck on the day of arrival. I called the resort to cancel and even told them I'd understand if they still needed to charge me due to the short notice. Instead, they gave us a credit for our next stay, which was wonderful and much appreciated. If you're looking for a campground loaded with frills, this isn't it. What you do get are beautiful sites, including the pull-throughs we stayed in that offer direct views of the Chesapeake Bay and some amazing sunsets. Sites include electric and water but no sewer; however, they provide septic carts and several dump stations, similar to many state parks. They also have fire rings and picnic tables, which should be standard everywhere in my opinion. Other than that, it's simply a quiet, relaxed, and scenic campground. My only wish is that WiFi were free, since it is at many other campgrounds. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. The camp store has a solid selection of necessities, and the prices were not unreasonable. Given its proximity to Rock Hall (which is an amazing little town), Chestertown, and the Bay, this is definitely going to be one of our regular camping spots. We're already planning several trips for next year. read more

This is a really great spot! The staff is very friendly. Easy check in. The view can't be beat. This would be a 5 star review for sure if the WiFi coverage was better, if there was sewer at the sites, if the bathrooms were open. They made it clear that these things were not included, so it was not a surprise and they do have portable restrooms around. One more portable in the middle of the B-site area would be good. Overall this place is great and we will be returning. Already booked as a matter of fact :) read more

If I could give zero stars I would!!been coming here for years they have made no improvements in the past 10 years. We were still loyal visitors and established good relationships with the owners. Until this year we had a family emergency and stated that we probably couldn't make it, but to still hold our spots incase we came. We found out on multiple occasions they had campers on our spots and double booked but refused to refund our money back. They are money hungry but still won't do anything to bring them better money so they rip people off. Would not recommend camping here EVER!!!!! read more

Bayshore Campgrounds has stunning views across The Chesapeake Bay. The grounds are basic and beautiful. Lovely plantings and green grassy campsites. There are few amenities built for children which results in a quieter, rather serene experience. Staff and owners are helpful and fun. Thanks Megan for rearranging our camp rug! Beach Girl read more

Lacy the manager, is amazing and a true pleasure to deal with. We travel in a group. Multiple families and it's always really hard to find a campground with "buddy sites" but Bayshore Campgrounds was super accommodating and got us great spots directly next to each other in front of a pond perfect for fishing! Rock hall is a cute small town with everything you may need or want. Lacy also suggested a seafood restaurant and boy did she know what she was talking about! Thanks so much for a great time read more

Bayshore Campground - Campgrounds Near Me - Rock Hall, Maryland

Swimming. no Restrooms. No Shade. Not on my site Wifi. not free. third party that the office refuses to help with after purchasing Cell service very limited Nice view of the bay. Yes read more

It's the place to camp if you want to be near Rock Hall, literally. The facilities are something like you'd find in a third world country. There are only two showers, one toilet, one urinal in the men's room; similarly equipped women's. The "beach" is maybe 20' long and only 2 feet wide. The "playground" is a small plastic set you might find in a townhouse yard. Most of the people there seem to be part time residents and know each other; very few weekend-campers like me, at least when I was there. For some reason, the area is also very buggy. Bugs that bite! And it's kind of costly when you consider all the great options from MD Park Service. I would've expected more. That being said, the staff was, for the most part, polite and eager to bring us things we needed (e.g. firewood, ice, a grill). read more

My family camps here seasonally. I don't really know why the bad reviews. The owners have been lovely and respectful to me and my husband and so has the staff. I know they spent a lot of time and money making the place beautiful. read more

I have read all the reviews below, the two with ones besides them really made me question whether or not to visit this campground. I am so glad I followed my gut instinct. I am not sure when those reviews came in, however they must have been talking about different owners. I stayed at Bayshore for an entire month and never met nicer people in my life than the staff and residents living here. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. I am handicapped and my husband had surgery they went well beyond what any customer would expect to make us comfortable and extend their hospitality. The sunsets are unbelieveable and it is just a great place to stay. Close to a public beach, close to a free pool and fun restaurants. What more can you ask for. Small town people and small town fun. read more

We stayed here for our first time on a last minute trip at the end of October 2020. It was a cold, rainy weekend, but as soon as we pulled into the campground, I fell in love. It is such a cute, well maintained, little campground. It didn't rain continuously, so we were able to enjoy a couple of beautiful sunsets over the bay. I was determined to come back during nicer weather. Here we are, the middle of May 2021, and this place did not disappoint! The trees are in bloom, the well manicured lawns with beautiful landscaping, and the same beautiful sunsets over the bay. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating, and the owner, Fred, went out of his way to welcome us. Already planning our next trip! read more

The owners were rude and disrespectful. The wife in particular had a passive aggressive streak and took her aggression out on elderly people. They lie, they belittle and they are not trustworthy. If your parents consider renting here for the long term, please stop them. If it were not for the current owners it would be a lovely place. read more

Have been here in 2 years, not much has changed but again a great RV park. Views are great, friendly staff, sites are gravel and level, bathhouses are clean. My only complaint was wifi, they have gone to a private pay service and it was terrible, I couldn't access Internet at all on my tablet wife tablet worked about a quarter of the time. But overall a great weekend read more

Had a great time with friends this weekend. The sunset was beautiful. The owners make you feel like family. Peaceful haven to just relax by fire. read more

We went camping here last summer. This campground is located next to a cornfield overlooking the water. It's really pretty neat! Lots of year-round folks who get all the waterfront lots. The beach is tiny, but there plenty of swimming space for kids. The restrooms are small. I loved that it was on the water and we could see it from our trailer window. There is pond with a fountain in the middle and a playground for the kids. The town of Rock Hall is cute too! read more

Been a solo tent camper here twice during the month of June as I was a participant in the Rock Hall Triathlon (2015, 2017). Both times my stay has been superb: beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay, sunsets were breathtaking, and awesome weather! The campground is nice and supports both RV and tent campers with views of either the pond area or the bay; I highly recommend the bayside. There are camping spots with either shade or with plenty of sun. For being a rugged, true tent camper, I found the facilities very pleasant: bath house, store, ice, firewood, etc. There were even convenient portable restrooms near the tent camping spots! The staff and owners are very friendly, professional, and pleasing to make your stay even better. I had a very wonderful and relaxing stay, and I plan to return in 2018. read more

I have been camping for 30+ years. This is a nice campground that is great to stay at if you want to enjoy the water and the bird watching. I stayed herr the first time from 4/8-4/11, for my 25th wedding anniversary in our new travel trailer. Now the woman's bathroom was small with two toilets and two showers, but it was clean and that is what matters the most to me. They just turn on the water to the campground a few days before we got there. We enjoyed the waterfront view; the sun setting behind our camper every evening. If you are looking for a lot of kids activities that don't include fishing or hiking then I am not sure this is the campground for you. Try it for two nights and see for yourself. We will be coming back as we like the relaxing feel of he campground and enjoy nature. Also, all the help was very polite. read more

I was truly disappointed. I paid for a Friday and Saturday tent site for 5 people. It was pretty expensive but we were excited to be right on the bay. Our plan was to swim and fish in the bay for the whole weekend. We arrived around 2pm on Friday and checked in with an extremely pleasant staff and had the tent pitched within the hour. The biting flies were unbearable. You couldn't even sit down without having a swarm of biting flies surrounding you. The bay access was a joke if you aren't a permanent Seasonal camper. It was one set of steps right behind the bath house and a 20 ft section of beach! The water was disgustingly warm and we kept stepping on tires buried in the sand. Not refreshing or fun at all. There was no direct beach access for tent sites and no place to set up the fishing poles. Add the terrible biting flies and we had enough. We were packed up by 6pm and ready to leave. There were only 2 other tents set up at that time. I understood we would lose the $55 deposit, but thought they would refund the $55 cash I paid for Saturday night upon arrival. Nope. I was told by the manager that she couldn't refund the money because they had to turn away other campers because of our reservation. That's funny. There was only 2 other tents set up when we left. She said she would check with the owner on Monday and call me back. That didn't happen. Horrible experience and very disappointing. I would give 0 star if I could. read more
