Poutine
Ashley H.

Super excited to have this place in Gardnerville! We came in this evening and ordered a bunch of stuff to go. Shrimp and crawfish roll, small greens, small Mac and cheese, poutine, bread pudding and shrimp basket. After we ordered we waited about 40 minutes for our order. The cashier asked us a few times what we were waiting for.... Not sure what was going on. The restaurant was empty but they had a steady pace of people coming in for to go orders As for the rating on the food: -Collard greens- 5 stars- the best! -Macaroni and cheese- 4 stars because it Was so cold it couldn't have been warm when we left with it. -Shrimp and Cajun roll- 5 stars perfect amount of seafood, sauce and roll was fresh -Poutine- 5 stars great value for amount. Perfect amount of seasoning, gravy, and cheese. -Shrimp basket- 4 stars- great flavor but quantity seems like it should be more next to the poutine. -bread pudding- 5 stars perfect amount of bread and sauce. Just the right amount of sweetness Overall 4 stars due to the wait and it seeming like the staff were disorganized asking so many times what we were waiting for. Will definitely be back to try some of their other items but will probably call ahead next time!

So here's a good plan, have a huge lunch and then discover there's a new restaurant a mile from your house. That's what happened to me this afternoon and knowing my love of southern food I needed to immediately investigate. It's not a bad thing, I had a full stomach and so on this visit, I was unable to taste anything. This evaluation is based on how friendly the folks were, and, yes, my wife explained our situation and we were thanked for stopping in and given a to go menu. I will be back and I look forward to providing a more comprehensive evaluation. For now, five stars based on friendliness, the way the place smelled, and the fact that there were two people waiting for their food to go. Mind you they've been open for three days. We can't wait.

I had to eat half before picture. lol

I was very excited to try this place and still am glad i came. I give grace knowing it's their first week open. Prepare for long wait times. My shrimp and crawfish roll took over 30 minute's. This roll was huge and I love how they toasted the bun. The seasonings were vibrant and delicious. There was a good amount of shrimp and crawfish, and each bite was perfect. I will give them some time to get through the grand opening times and flaws, however, I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu! It's great to have some different styles of food in gardnerville.

Very impressed with everything we ordered. Will definitely be back! Hoping one day they'll have ox tails and plain beignets. We took a red beans and rice home and my hubby says that will tell him if it legit. Well I say everything I tasted was amazing!!

So happy to have a new restaurant in the ranchos that isn't Mexican or burgers!!!! We love seafood and Cajun. Everything was well seasoned and perfectly crispy. Cornmeal breading gives a great texture. We can't wait to go back and try more.

This place is so darn cute! Excited to have a flavorFULL, fun new spot in town. The staff is amazing and made everyone feel as important as the next one a busy first day!

Everything came out perfectly timed, and more importantly, everything tasted great. It's always nice when a restaurant gets both the food and the pacing right. Now, let's be honest--it's not NOLA. But if you're looking for a little taste of that New Orleans vibe without leaving South Lake Tahoe, this is about as close as you're going to get. Definitely looking forward to coming back! BB

This place is great for hosting big groups (so long as you are sure to make a reservation), but also perfectly fine for small gatherings, too. Plus, if the weather is nice, do take advantage of sitting out on the patio. And we were met with an extremely friendly and attentive staff, who were very on the ball with everything. The food seems to have a cajun/southern twist to it. And we all found our fare quite delicious. For myself, I wound up with some roasted brussels sprouts, and a plate of the crawfish and sausage poutine. One of my friends also had good stuff to say about the burger they got as well. And the entire meal was accompanied by good drinks from their wine and cocktail list, with the Pims Cup being delightful on this warm evening. As said above, the outside ambiance is great, though can get a little loud since you are next to a swimming pool for one hotel. There is also basically no parking, so you may have to park somewhere nearby and walk over, which is easy enough. And prices are pretty decent for what you're getting, and considering this is a touristy area. So yeah, all told, a very solid and enjoyable spot for dinner. Keep them in mind if you are in South Shore.

The perfect spot when family comes to town!…read more The Pink House is my go-to place whenever I have family visiting--and it never disappoints! Located in historic Genoa (Nevada's very first settlement), this beautifully restored 1855 Gothic Revival landmark has that wonderful old-time feel that makes the experience special from the moment you walk in. The food is fantastic, with a delicious Southern twist that reminds me of New Orleans--big, bold flavors that make every bite memorable. We also loved the wood-fired pizzas, which are a must-try. And the craft cocktails? Absolutely yummy. To top it all off, they feature live acoustic music that adds such a fun, lively vibe to the whole experience. The service was great, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Perfect for a family visit or a night out with friends. Can't wait to come back! Highly recommend.

I think it's safe to say they use frozen corn which is a shame because fresh corn is still very much in season. I had their corn as an accompaniment to one of my past dishes and the texture is the same. Completely over cooked, soggy, mushy corn on the cob with absolutely no flavor. And get this, it costs $18 or $19! It's literally one corn on the cob that they portion into 4 or 6 pieces. Fish Special - It was rock fish with a red pepper sauce, eggplant stacked with feta and herbed roasted potatoes. The fish was over cooked and really salty. Eggplant was dry and difficult to eat. I didn't even bother with it. Potatoes, no big deal. Margherita Pizza - Good flavor, just not a fan of their crust Tchoupitoulas- We've gotten this in the past and this seems to be consistent with flavor and execution. My husband said it was as good as the first time. Kid's Mac n Cheese - At $19 I expected a large portion. It's not. But it was the best dish we ordered. It's more of a macaroni with Alfredo sauce rather than a cheddar mac n cheese. My son enjoyed it as did everyone else at the table.

Staff gladly responded and accommodated us in a private booth that was elegant with curtains. It had the feel of a modern but classic restaurant where "movers and shakers" would have dinner. We were treated like royalty with staff attending to us every opportunity with drinks, water, and appetizers. We felt valued as a customer and they took the time to make our night special. We had a platter of steak, vegetables, and potatoes which was cooked perfectly and may have been an extra large portion. At the end of our meal, although we were extremely full from the great dinner, the staff brought us a complimentary dessert of a chocolate lava cake to help celebrate our night. They also provided us with a card, signed by the entire staff, marking our event. This was a nice gesture and totally unexpected. The entire team from Hostess, to wait staff, to order taker, to back-of-house team were great and gave us a memorable night. We really appreciated this team for going above and beyond for us.

Ambience is very old school steakhouse. Big booth, pillows, kind of classic and comfortable in that traditional way. Food was... meh. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. The steak itself was fine, but the bacon wrap was not good and kind of threw the dish off. Escargot was interesting, honestly the best part was the pastry on top more than the escargot itself. Left feeling taken care of, just not blown away by the food.

We had a Saturday night reservation at Friday Station to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were greeted by Tarius, who was a wonderful server throughout the meal. Very casual, humorous, and just a true pleasure to deal with. He was supported by another gentleman whose name I do not recall, but they were right on top of everything - from delivering bread before we asked, bringing multiple sauces for our prime rib and asparagus, and clearing off crumbs in between courses. True professionals. The prime rib was a bit average - I don't know what it is about prime rib, but so often it does show up lukewarm rather than hot. One good thing I can say about the temperature of the food is that the plate itself was heated, which kept the food temp at a minimally acceptable level throughout the meal. The asparagus accompaniment was very well prepared, with not even the stems going to waste. Portions were significant, and we had no room for dessert. One thing I would mention is that on the reservation, they asked what we're celebrating. I shared that this was my celebration of a 31st anniversary with my wife. I wasn't looking for anything complimentary to be offered, simply a congratulations / "thank you for celebrating with us" would have been nice.

We explained that we had not checked in yet and that we were early for our reservation. We said we were happy to wait at the bar and asked if they could let us know when our table was ready. We were told, "Oh no, you need to come back at your reservation time." I completely understand that every restaurant has different policies, but the way it was communicated did not sit well with me, and honestly, I almost let that initial interaction affect the rest of our evening. Thankfully, the experience did turn around after we were sat by a window with a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. Our dinner was overall good! I had the Australian lobster tail, which was good, but not spectacular. Smaller than I expected. My husband had the ribeye along with the house salad. The house salad was delicious. The dressing was very light and delicious. He said the steak was a bit over cooked. He also ordered the mushrooms and mentioned they were the best mushrooms he's ever had. I also ordered the lobster bisque, which was rich, creamy, and flavorful. The bread and whipped butter were also tasty. Our waiter James was friendly, attentive, checked on us throughout dinner, and kept our wine topped off. His service made a huge difference in our experience. We had rough start to our evening, but at the end, had a lovely dinner and really enjoyed our meal. The food was great, the view was beautiful, and James provided excellent service. We would definitely come back, and hopefully next time the welcome will match the rest of the experience!

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with such warm, friendly smiles. Since I was dining alone, the host kindly gave me several seating options, and I decided on one of the high-top tables near the bar so I could catch a little of the football game. As soon as I looked at the menu, I knew exactly what I wanted--the Mac Nut Salmon! Macadamia-crusted salmon served with white rice, broccolini, chili oil, and yuzu beurre blanc. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! First of all, the presentation was beautiful, but that very first bite was absolutely amazing! The crust on the salmon was perfection. The macadamia nuts were perfectly roasted, bringing out that wonderful nuttiness without being burnt. The broccolini had just the right amount of crunch, and the white rice, chili oil, and yuzu beurre blanc complemented everything so beautifully. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. The waiter was just as warm and friendly as the host and checked on me throughout my meal. When I mentioned how much I loved the yuzu beurre blanc, he even offered to bring me some extra. Of course, I happily said yes! And I will admit, I ate every last bite! I absolutely love a good nut-crusted salmon, and this was hands down one of the best I've ever had! My only disappointment is that I don't live nearby because I would absolutely be coming back for this dish again and again. If you find yourself in South Lake Tahoe, I highly recommend giving this place a try.
