Scathing doesn't begin to cut it - total understatement - this place is a total, unbelievably down-trodden ex-con haven for imbeciles who don't know how to act in a Hotel, nor staffed by people of any different nature besides two well spoken younger guys - but the older dude with glasses is a total **** stain if you have any real complaints - that you'll feel like you stepped into a different world. Disgusting, putried 'clientele' - the place reeks of weed, and if 90% of the guests you see don't have jail tats everywhere, you're there on a rare day - it's garbage. People walking around the place giving you looks as if they're of any relevance to anyone but themselves; they live there, as far as I know, and they're the loudest, rudest most obnoxious inbreds ever. Of all creeds and backgrounds - use your imagination - it isn't pretty. Furthermore, again, the hotel staff is family run, or rather the whole place is - and it shows. Bare minimum service as long as no one complains, but heaven forbid you have real noise complaint issues of someone blaring their TV at max volume, or loud pounding and thudding at any hours of the night - and you're met with ineptitude and downright pathetic responses. I damn near had to take matters into my own hands, and URGE the hotel staff, with me standing over them - to take action - he kept trying to walk away and weasel his way out - I said nope, knock. Take care of it - and I made sure there was a strong enough tone that the next step would be me knocking, or going to the law. This is a repeated response met to any serious issues - furthermore, again, the idiot will get rude with someone saying "you're hearing is too sensitive" - while the TV is blaring through the DAMN WALL!!!!! Long because I wanted to include all the detail I can if you want a short version: hallway on our floor smelled strongly of smoke, furniture and linens old and rather worn, room and linens not at all the cleanest, very limited breakfast, and a syringe int he bedside drawer. This hotel was a good lesson in you get what you pay for. Our stay was in January, so the off season for Kings Island and for the nights we booked it was $64/night. If you can afford it I would recommend trying your luck at the Hilton across the street which was advertising about $110/night during the time of our stay. I'll be honest I didn't think to look at reviews when booking as I was trying to find a place fast to come to town for a funeral and I saw a cheap rate 10 minutes from both places I would need to be during the couple days I would be in town. If I read reviews I definitely would have gone for another place that was a bit more per night. The 2nd floor hallway strongly smelled like smoke even though all the doors for the rooms on the floor were marked as non smoking. Our room itself did faintly smell of smoke when we entered. Overall furniture and linens looked and felt worn and rundown. The room did have a decent amount of space to move around even with a king bed. When we got to the room and pulled down the sheets we found they were stained. With what exactly we don't know, but the color and fact some of the spots were more 3D and not just in the fabric made us think along the lines of mucus and/or a bloody nose. When we brought them down on the desk the front desk guy got us a new set to put on the bed no problem. After settling in we realized we did not check the sign by the breakfast area to see what time it ran. As I went through the drawers looking for in information sheet to maybe tell us, like I had experienced in other hotels, I found a syringe in the drawer of the bedside table. Needle appeared capped but still not what I would expect or want to find when opening a hotel drawer. In the morning my husband got up early to try to use the fitness room and shortly came back because the treadmill did not work. Can confirm the sign at breakfast stating there will be a $50 charge if food is brought up to a room that is mentioned in other reviews is there. The breakfast options are super limited. To be fair the counter space they have doesn't leave room for any other options to be included,but what's there isn't great. The only protein option was sausage gravy which was not good. Rest of breakfast options are cereal, oatmeal and bread/bagel/muffins. The front desk also is not well manned. Checking in and bringing down the stained sheets we had to call out for someone to come assist us. This place has been completely remodeled. Everything was clean and in working order. Breakfast was basic, but good. I would recommend more fruit options. Not family friendly ! I checked into Baymont Inn & Suites with my family and it's filthy. The pillow and mattress cover was covered in blood. I notifed the front desk in person. They did not make it right. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned. The bathroom floor has large black stains on it. The toilet base was covered in thick dust from not being cleaned in a extended period of time. The shower had razor parts from previous guest. The blanket had cigarette burns. We heard constant banging from remodeling. All the ice machines where broken. The ice bucket in the room had a hard brown crust on it. The breakfast was a nice setup! Unfortunately the hot food was cold. The juice machine was filthy and particles come out in the drinks. The juice comes out warm also. The phone in the room did not work. When I asked was it turned on they lied and said I must have dialed a non-working number. I tested the hotel phone on my own cellphone for safety. To add injury to insult the front desk person came upstairs and knocked. She forgot to update her check out sheet and came to evict us. She did apologize for her error. I asked again about my room being cleaned ?! She lied and said someone was coming but of course they never did. Baymont please do better! read more

I've probably left one review for anything...ever, but this time I have to. I took my son for a one day trip to Kings Island. We reserved a room here for just the night before heading home in the morning. Even though the reviews were bad, it was close to KI and I knew we'd only be in the room from around 10pm-9am. Because of our short stay, it was fine with me for the hotel to be bare bones, paint chipping, drapes hanging and broken off the rod, TV broken...that wasn't even a big deal for one inexpensive night. The big deal was the grime, strong cigarette smell, long hairs on the bottom of our towels, small hairs on the toilet, yellow shower curtain, carpet so gross I didn't want to put my feet on it. There's a lot I'm leaving out. I'm leaving this review in case someone else is thinking they could deal with it for one night too. read more

I am not sure how to feel. It was okay for the price, I suppose? It is definitely a two-star hotel. My boyfriend and I are staying here while we go back-to-back to Kings Island. We got here, and there was a lot of parking places, so that was nice. We walked in and we were immediately greeted with the smell of cigarette smoke, even though its claimed to be a "smoke-free building". We walked in and smiled at the front desk attendant, who just looked at us momentarily before looking back at his computer. No "hello" or "be with you in a moment". What seemed like his manager was leaning over the counter and actually had to say, after an awkward 15-20 seconds of utter silence (he wasnt typing or doing anything), "Why don't you go ahead and help these people out?" He then sighed and looked at us. We told him the name, and he took our ID and walked away in utter silence. We stood there awkwardly before he came back after a few minutes and said to pay on the pinpad. The whole interaction was pretty fast, but it did NOT feel friendly at all. Not to mention, I had called ahead in the morning to make sure and verify a few things about the reservation. Guy on the phone (who I am 90% sure was the guy we met at the desk) was very short, didnt give a name, sounded somewhat rude and snappy, and didn't give very straightforward answers. The outside smelt like garbage, the inside smelt like smoke, the hallways had a strange smell, but our room didn't smell bad, thank the heavens. We did, however, find little pieces of stuff on the floor, including a used bobby pin, which showed it didnt get cleaned too well. We got a king sized suite with one bed. Came with two towels, two hand towels, We got one bar of skinny soap, either for the shower or for the bathroom. One tiny bottle of shampoo, same with conditioner, As to be expected, and it wasnt bad, but I wish we had 2 bars of soap, or hand soap..! We had a desk in ours. I opened the drawer with the bible, it was sticky and nasty on the bottom, so it got neglected. There is no guide to the TV, so good luck. You have to find the right channel to find the guide. Wish they at least gave the guide channel number. TV was nice, its Spectrum. Fridge was NOT cold, our soda and water stayed room temperature...there were no bugs or anything, so that was good. TLDR; CONS: Lobby smells like smoke. Outside smells like trash. Hallways smell strangely gross. Fridge didnt get cold. Room wasnt very clean. Rude staff. It was smoldering hot, turned on the AC and a few hours later the floor was completely soaked in a 4 ft area. The carpets in the room n in hall areas are torn, the walls are all stained, the floors in elevator n tiled areas are disgusting. The bed sheets were stained and bottom part of bed skirt torn. There was a couch in the room that was dingy dirty stained n should be in the dump. The bath tub was rusty inside and the faucets looked as if they hadnt been cleaned. Let me say this. I was skeptical about this place. I arrived after 1 and I forgot his name let me check in and get my card for my room. Later on I came back and went to my room and it was alright for $79. Had a bed, desk. But I didn't like the heavy door for the bathroom. Also I don't like how for the light for the bathroom u have to have the fan on. The shower wasn't bad for what it was. The bed was firm but good enough to sleep on. Pillow were ok. Could been A little firmer but it's ok. . But there was a problem in the morning about people wanting to use the pool and it wasn't open. The hotel was low-cost. It's quiet and around restaurants and stores. However, the housekeeping did not make the bed completely when they cleaned the room. The restocked towels had long black hair all over them them. They did not sweep or vaccumm which let me know they probably didn't no either. We stayed here during a short overnight trip to Ohio. We were greeted upon check in and had zero issues checking in--we booked through Getaroom.com and sometimes have found that with third party booking there's issues, but that wasn't the case here. Our room was a bit warm but it cooled off quickly once we adjusted the air conditioner. The beds were clean, the bathroom was clean, and we had plenty of towels. The proximity to King's Island make this a very neat find, as we occasionally will visit the theme park in the summer and now we know where to stay for lower prices than the Great Wolf Lodge. They also had a heated pool which we used for about half an hour. It was small but a comfortable temperature. The continental breakfast was nice, we had fresh waffles and some yogurt. Wish we would've had some eggs or breakfast meats, but considering we paid less than 60$ for the stay, I wasn't too put off by the lack of options at breakfast. It was very standard pastries, cereal, juice, waffles, and yogurt. Overall we would definitely stay here again, given the value and proximity to most of what we were there to visit. read more

After an 11 hour drive and a failed attempt for a room at not so Super 8 (review available as well), the Baymont inn came through to save the night! A clean, yet extremely warm room was sitting there waiting for my head to relax in. The receptionist was extremely helpful and courteous, great disposition and attitude even with us coming in so late. The room, air wasn't turned on at all, was very clean except for the cricket in the bathroom (he got a free ride outside). Beds were clean and comfortable, plenty of pillows, and extremely soft. Thank you for a restful night. EDIT 1: ugh 3:15AM.. Did i say a restful night?? Yeah i wish. There is a cricket mariachi band going to town outside my window! EDIT 2: Ok, this time i lowered the rating from a 4* to a 3* since it's 5AM and i can see Satan with his beach towel chilling in our room since it's Hotter in here than in hell. EDIT 3: I think it would have been better to sleep in my truck! 6AM and still no sleep because the crickets outside, the trapeze artists in the hallway slamming doors, and the hotter than the sun room. I could have slept outside and saved myself the $68. This is totally unacceptable for a hotel. Changed review to a 2*!! read more

Will never stay at this location again. Go to super 8. Terrible customer service. As a trucker, i called beforehand to verify truck parking, price, and early check in. The details were confirmed by a man so i booked online to secure pricing. Once I arrived the lady at the front desk said I was there way too early and that there will be a $20 extra fee. If my reservation was not non refundable I would have went elsewhere. Paid that. Rooms nothing like pictures. No toiletries. Blonde hair in bed. I asked about truck parking and she said park in Waffle house lot but she not responsible. Trucks were parked at the Asian cuisine but if you park there you will get cursed out and called a n*****. Photos show washer and dryer. Went to use those and didnt work. I asked her if the washers work and she stated, umm they should. Can hear people in the hallways talking trash about other people loudly. When I signed papers at check in, i asked for a copy...she said I cant have one until check out. The rates here are difficult to beat with included amenities. The facility was clean, however the age of the hotel is showing and maintenance is not kept up with, which is the reason for only 3 stars. Our room was clean, it included a mini fridge and microwave. Everything was in working order, towels were clean, and there was an extensive line up of premium movie channels. The breakfast area was clean and there were plenty of options available including waffle maker, breads, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee, cream cheese, jellies, oatmeal and more. The pool while like most other things needs maintenance attention, was clean and warm enough for us to enjoy. If you're looking for a great value ... this is your place, if you require a perfect picture with better upkeep, spend more and go elsewher... we wouldn't hesitate to return as most of the staff were very friendly as well. read more

There are 2 things that I look for when I'm booking a hotel: good bathrooms and a continental hot breakfast. At only $55 a night I thought that booking here would be a good idea. For the area, and being right down from King's Island amusement park, this was a steal. The hotel was clean and the employees were nice. I do check the bedbug registry and they had an issue back in 2017, but they appear all good now. Checked the room and beds and no sign of bugs. The pool looked clean, which is another thing I like a hotel to have, but the location was right off of the lobby and there were windows on every side so you could see into it. I'm not real crazy about feeling like I'm in a fish bowl when I am trying to get some relaxation. Needless to say we did not use the pool. The drawbacks were a couple of things. 1st off, we were put into a handicap room. I liked that since it was a large bathroom, but it was on the 3rd floor, which I will get to in a moment. The shower head was broken. It was the kind that you can either leave mounted to the wall or take down and use by hand. I had to fenagle the shower head by wedging it between a couple of the handicap bars to be able to have it spray on me. So the fact it was handicap was actually a God send. Fortunately they had a shower seat so I could sit down at the height of the spray. However it was not the most convenient way to shower. Second was the elevator. It is old and they have a printed sign that you're not supposed to have more than 4 people in it at a time. To help insure this, which we found out because we stayed 2 nights, They put an out of order sign on the Elevator probably around 7:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. check out. We noticed around 1:00 p.m. that the sign was taken down. Because of this we had to walk down 3 flights of stairs to go to the continental breakfast. Not a big deal for us, but if your handicap that could be a huge issue. This brings me to the 3rd issue. They specifically advertised a hot continental breakfast. There was nothing hot about it. Any time I have seen this advertised and stayed at a hotel they have had scrambled eggs, hash browns or fried potatoes, bacon and sausage. A literal hot breakfast. The only hot thing about this breakfast was you could make a waffle. Everything was bread based. Anyone going to King's Island I can't imagine would want to stuff themselves with donuts, toast, bagels, cereal, etc. I was very disappointed in the breakfast when it was advertised as a hot continental breakfast. Overall, you get what you pay for. It was a good deal, but it would have been nice if the shower worked, the elevator was a little bit more modern, and the continental breakfast was what it led you to believe it was. read more

I could tell as soon as I walked in that this hotel was not well maintained. Smells bad, baseboards were ripped off hallway walls, carpet was old and stained. The first room we were given ha several big drywall patches on the ceiling, and several other spots that had been water stained but not repaired, and bathroom was in poor condition. It was evident that the pillow cases had not been changed, as there were hairs on each of them from previous guests. To top it off, the main light switch for the room wouldn't work, so we couldn't turn out the light; the manager came up to assist, but had to move us to a different room. The second room was slightly better (i.e. the light switch worked and didn't have damaged ceiling), but still was in disrepair and dingy, as was the trend for the entire building. I will say, however, that there was no evidence of bugs inside either room. But no coffee makers in the rooms, and they still don't offer breakfast because of COVID 19 (my visit was May 2022) even though every other hotel has been offering this for quite some time now. Overall, I highly recommend paying a bit more and staying at a better hotel, or staying in a different area completely. read more

I give this place 0 stars. The moment my boyfriend and I entered the hotel we noticed multiple people standing at the front desk. We had made reservations but had to wait 25 minutes to check in. The man at the front desk was very unprofessional and rude. We overheard one of the guests saying that their room was dirty and the tv was cracked and wouldn't turn on. That was our first red flag. By the time we finally got checked in, we were ready to lay down and relax. We walked into our room and it smelled of mildew and just looked all around crummy. We overlooked those things and tried giving the room a chance but about an hour after check in, I'm sitting in the chair next to the bed and look over to find a bed bug crawling on the pillow! We immediately left and went to the front desk and the man didn't seem concerned. I tried showing him photos of the bug on the pillow but he said that wouldn't suffice so my boyfriend took him to the room to show him. Apparently he was flinging the pillows around, which of course you wouldn't be able to see the bug then. As he flipped over another one of the pillows he saw a second bug. He tried to offer to clean the room or switch us to a different one which was ridiculous. So obviously this place is a dump and I do not recommend it to anyone. We stayed here during our trip to King's Island because paying for their resorts is ridiculous. It's less than a mile from the park and they also offer free shuttles there as well. We booked this on Expedia for a cheaper price than the official hotel website, however beware... When I checked for availability around 1pm on Expedia this hotel came up $60. When I actually booked it later that night it shot up $20 to $80, so it would be wise to not wait till the last minute. The hotel itself is decent. Nothing amazing, nothing awful. We had a nice size room with a king bed, TV, desk, two coffee tables, coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The appliances seemed a little old and the hair dryer only worked for about 30 seconds. The bathrooms could have used a little more work from the maids, but other than that I felt comfortable. However, the biggest disappointment was the fact that they gave us a smoking room. I purposely paid a little more for a non-smoking room. When we got to the hallway, I smelled an overwhelming cigarette smell. When we got to the room, it was even worse. It was musty and ashy. After discussing it with my boyfriend, I decided not to call the front desk because we thought it could have been just the hotel's odors (big mistake!!). We come to find out the next day that they did indeed give us a smoking room. We noticed some doors had a non-smoking sign while ours didn't. Our fault for not saying something in the first place. Aside from that, the stay was okay. They have a small indoor pool that's oddly placed right next to the lobby and a continental breakfast that included waffles, cereal, pastries and bagels. read more

We were so disappointed in the condition of this hotel. Our bathroom door would not shut & latch closed properly. The rooms need allot of things fixed, paint and updating. The beds were awful. Every 20 min the whole time even during the night, there was some very loud running water in the wall behind our bed that would last about 10 seconds each time. It made for a sleepless night. The air conditioning was not working in the back stair way. Horrible Experience I do not recommed anyone stay here until they put some money into this building/business. read more

There is no fixing this place! It is dirty, and a bed bug infested dump. My kids had to sleep in our van because we refuse to stay and they refuse to give us our money back. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We ended up not getting the room that we booked, and they had no vacancy so they couldn't do anything about it. I noticed that I was charged twice when I was checking my bank account. I paid for one night and my boyfriend paid for the other night. We informed the old lady working and the only thing she did to "help" was say "you should have paid in cash." She was extremely unhelpful and didn't really seem like she knew what she was doing. There was a whole lobby filled with people waiting to be helped. They definitely need more staff working, especially when it's a holiday weekend and there's no vacancy. GROSS!! booked here cheap for a 2 week business trip. wont make that mistake again. we got here, got our stuff upstairs and started getting situated. i did my normal hotel check...basically make sure theres nothing gross anywhere. and oh my god. when i pulled back the bed sheets i was shocked! i have never seen such dirty sheets and comforter! like they didnt even bother to look at them when they made the bed. first i saw something red smeared on the edge of the blanket. which i quickly found out was lipstick because there was a lipstick kiss mark on the sheets!! who does that!? and that wasnt the worse. i continued looking at the sheets and found what i can only imagine is shit. literally poop. soo disgusting!! we got a new room. i wish we couldve gotten a new hotel but it was so late and we had to be up early for work. will not come back here! read more

If I could rate this poor excuse of a hotel less than 1 star I would. My boyfriend is working in the area, and I was traveling with him. I have stayed in many hotels, in many places, and nothing has ever came close to comparing to this shit hole. I only lasted 7 days at this hotel, only 168 hours before I had to have my father drive 3 hours to pick me up. I chose inconveniencing my die hard steeler fan of a father on football Sunday with the steelers having a 7-0 record than spend one more minute at this place. The first full day I was there, the fire alarm went off and as I was making my way out of the room to evacuate and in the hallway there was a housekeeper. She informed me that there was nothing wrong and I could remain inside the building. I thought it was odd, but I also did not see why this employee would lie to me. I went back into my room, the fire alarm continued to go off. Approximately 10 minutes passed and I heard sirens. A firetruck and ambulance were en route to the hotel. I took it upon myself to then evacuate the building, only to find every other guest outside already. I do not know if this housekeeper thought to herself and said "fuck that bitch" or why it was my life she did not care about. I realize she is just a person, and perhaps she didn't know what was going on herself, so I was going to look past the incident. But not long after being there I found myself looking past a lot of things wrong with this hotel. Those things being, the sheets on the bed were very visibly stained, mud caked on the bathroom door, spilled liquids in the fridge from previous guests. The light for the bathroom is motion activated, with modern technology that makes sense. But what doesn't make sense is the fucking motion sensor is on the OUTSIDE of the bathroom door. So, if you are on the toilet for too long or in the shower for an extended period of time, you are doing so in the dark. But once again, these are all things I tried to look past. What the one thing was that I could not look past, and still CANNOT believe happened was the events that unfolded on my last day there. Housekeeping allegedly comes everyday, which I have no problem with. I kept my do not disturb on the door everyday because I was in the room all day long and wished to not be disturbed. The front desk called my room multiple times throughout the week demanding I allow the housekeepers access. On Saturday I allowed them access once again, they took my trash, towels and I requested new sheets. They gave me a fitted sheet and two top sheets wadded in a ball and made me put the new sheets on myself. Once again, these sheets were very visibly stained and had burn holes in them. On Sunday I heard the housekeepers outside in the hallway knocking on doors. They just gave me everything new not even 24 hours ago so I did not expect them to come to my room. I have never been more wrong about anything in my life. The male housekeeper abruptly came into my room without warning. There was no knock, there was no person outside my door announcing themselves as "housekeeping" to alert me of anyone coming in. I had just gotten dressed not even half an hour prior to this man coming into my room. I called my boyfriend who was at work to tell him what happened. I was shaken up by this event seeing as it is 2020 and I can't even go to the grocery store alone without worry of being sex trafficked. I was going to look past this and chalk it up as he made a mistake, but then the second housekeeper knocked on the door and announced that it was housekeeping outside. I then was questioning why two workers - who have been working together everyday prior - would both on separate occasions be entering my room. I answered the door and told her I did not need anything since she was just in my room the day before, and she went on with her work down the hall. Lemme preface this by saying this is a family run business. They are clearly doing everything in their power to make this place a good experience for their guests. With that being said I don't think the staff is exactly the most qualified to run a business of this scale. The problems started when me and my wife checked in and room service didn't even clean everything up from the guest before and they left behind two soaking wet used hand towels. I brushed it off with a "maybe they just didn't notice, accidents happen". But the problems sadly didn't end there. The next morning before leaving for Kings island our room smelled like stale cigarettes. Of course this is a guest problem not a problem with the hotel but the way guest service handled the situation was atrocious. The woman behind the desk couldn't seem to wrap her head around how our room could smell fine the night before but not the next morning. As though someone couldn't possibly had been smoking that morning. She begrudgingly moved us to a new room but it was better only by a small margin. While the room didn't smell like cigarettes, the hallway smelt like a dumpster. Apparently from a couple of trash cans that never got cleaned out and remained there through the morning after when we finally checked out. The saving grace of this whole experience was a young man in his late 20's-mid30's who was very helpful when we'd have a minor problem and even went as far as to help my father in law fix his broken glasses that he accidentally slept on the night before. If you just need a place to crash after a day of roller coasters this isn't so bad. But if you're staying for two nights or more, I'd give this a hard pass. read more

The stars are for the king size bed with great pillows, ac that worked well, friendly staff. Unfortunately the remainder of the facilities is in tough shape - dingy rugs, fingerprints all over front doors, moldy shower curtain in a stained bathroom. The price was good for a Friday night. read more

What a dump. Don't waste your money here. No Wi-Fi even though they say they have it. Everything is dirty. Stains on the walls. Stains on the furniture. Stains on the carpet. Smells moldy and musty. The best part about staying here is checking the heck out. read more

Great for the price, it is near the water park and also great accommodation for western southern open. It has a pool, free modest breakfast and I even randomly got a jacuzzi room. It is definitely solid for a 2 star hotel. read more

The lady at the desk was very nice. The breakfast was okay. I complained to the fellow at the desk; but he didn't seem concerned: Didn't even apologize! When we took a shower; there was not a lot of noise in our room; but when a neighbor did; there was a roar and at one point even tapping! Needless to say we did not sleep well and I would not recommend it: They definitely have some plumbing issues! read more
