This is a super cute, well themed "diner". Unfortunately, the food was didn't taste great. So this diner has different cuisines to order at & then after you have your food - you carry it on a tray to the checkout station. The prices are what you'd except for amusement park theme. About $15 w/tax for chicken tenders & fries. I knocked off 2 stars solely because the food was not good. The fries were cold & the chicken tenders were almost inedible. The tenders were flavorless & chewy. McDonald's & Wendy's chicken nuggets are better than tenders. If you're at the pool & wanting a bite to eat - it's fast & convenient because you can order in your towel & then head back outside to eat. If you're wanting a yummy lunch, I'd say avoid this place. If you're wanting a fast, no effort meal & are staying close to here, I'd say go for it. read more

If you are staying at Universal's Cabana Bay Resort, the convenience of this diner cannot be beat, plus the quality, selection, and quantity of the food is respectable. Although our stay was only 1 night, we ended up eating here 3 times after our first experience was good (both lunch and dinner on the day we checked in, plus dinner the next evening in case you were wondering lol). We tried: - Brazilian churrasco, served with chimichurri sauce and your choice of 2 sides. We went with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. Everything was pretty good. - Chicken tenders and fries. Standard fare, no complaints. - Ahi tuna bowl. Surprisingly not bad! Rice was a bit dry but the sauce mostly made up for it. - Spaghetti and meatballs, which came with a breadstick. Reminded me of school lunch, but hey, this would have been one of my favorite school lunches lol. - Shrimp and veggie stir fry over rice. The veggies were fresh and well-cooked, and it came with at least 6 shrimp. - Meat lover's pizza. It was on special and loaded with bacon, pepperoni, ham, and sausage. It was similar to what I would expect from Pizza Hut. You pick up your food cafeteria style and then bring it to the registers to pay. You go in line depending on what you crave, order and then pay at the cashier at the exit. There's also grab and go. I try the pepperoni pizza. It was ok. It's a thin sliced pizza with minimum cheese. It honestly treated like some frozen pizza chain you can buy in store and not freshly made like pop. I don't think I'll get this again. This place is one of my favorite places while on vacation. After spending some time in Vegas, I have come to appreciate both the variety and price even more. My wallet was gauged in Vegas and they seemed to only offer burgers and pizza. This place has superior burgers and some decent pizza plus a great variety of food for most people. This vacation I discovered the savory waffle for breakfast which was so good i will crave it from now on. It was a waffle with spinach and cheese baked in topped with more spinach and cheese and a delicious avocado sauce, more places need to have a savory waffle on their menu. We were worried, they seemed to change their coffee provider but it was still delicious, a nice way to wake up in the morning and relax with a solid cup of coffee. read more

This is a great spot for anyone to eat at whether you are on the run and need a to-go box or! If you are wanting to sit down and eat your food. I was here during a work trip and decided to try the Brazilian beef with rice and black beans as my side. It was absolutely delicious! I was able to tell them how I wanted my beef, which was medium well. They cooked it as I specified.... The rice was seasoned well (that is not something that is common!) and the black beans were too! This dish was SO delicious that I got it again a different night! I also got chicken strips and fries on a different visit and I have also gotten some other items that I needed for the room. They had cut water beverages which was perfect to unwind back in my room! I will enjoy bringing my family here on the next visit. They have so much to offer! read more

We ended up eating here twice on our stay! We were surprised with the quality of the food! We were expecting sub-par food as it was sort of served cafeteria style, but were pleasantly surprised! Night one we ordered a pepperoni pizza and breadsticks. Both were delicious! It is exactly what you would expect for hotel pizza, but after a long day it hit the spot! Night two we ordered spaghetti and meatballs and a mushroom Swiss burger. The spaghetti was plain sauce, but again it really hit the spot after a long day! The burger was okay, but the patty was pretty soggy and gross by the time we got back to the room... I ended up taking it off as it was wet and falling apart. They had lots of options too! I recently stayed at Cabana Bay Beach, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty food here. Over the course of my stay, I tried the Cuban sandwich, marguerita flatbread, breakfast croissant sandwich, Brazilian beef churrasco. Out of them all, I would say the Cuban was the biggest miss for me. It was really nothing special. However, the pasta salad that I got as a side was delicious! I could eat that as an entree. However, the others were delicious! The marguerita flatbread was hot and tasty, perfect and filling for a late night snack. I love a good breakfast sandwich, and the breakfast croissant sandwich here did not disappoint! We got it with sausage, and it was tasty. We got potatoes on the side, also yummy! Plenty for my boyfriend and I to share. As for the Brazilian beef churrasco, I asked for it medium rare, and it came more medium or medium well. However, it was still surprisingly tender in addition to well seasoned and flavorful. We got the potato casserole and masala curry roasted cauliflower as sides. While the cauliflower was more lukewarm rather than hot, both were flavorful and delicious! The prices here are also very reasonable, but it could also be because I'm used to California prices. The portions are also very generous; one meal can easily feed two people. Overall, this is a great fast casual dining option. Lots of tasty options, no matter what your preferences are. They have several item ranging from International favorites to personal pizzas. Something for everyone, including picky eaters and vegetarians. Multiple grab and go items, if you're not interested in dining in their massive dining space (which has fun retro commercials playing on giant screens), but they also several meals served on actual plates with actual silverware. Drink stations are conveniently located in four areas of the dining room; the Coke freestyle machines work with the refillable cups sold at the diner, but ice and water are free for everyone so make sure to top off a refillable water bottle or cup before heading out to the parks. Prices are very reasonable for a resort! Definitely a must visit if you need a meal on a chill hotel day, or want to grab breakfast before heading out. It was a little pricy but the portions that you get are decent. There were different lines that lead you to different menus. One day I had the ceaser salad which was a huge bowl for about $10 which wasn't bad at all. I also got spaghetti and meatballs, mash potatoes with gravy and let's not forget the jerk chicken with rice and black beans. The spaghetti was just plain blah but everything else was really good. Everything came up to about $54 for 4 people. The breakfast was really good as well. We had French toast, bacon biscuit, potatoes and eggs. It was about the same price. The breakfast was great!! I recently stayed at Universal's Cabana Bay Resort and was able to try Bayliner Diner. This is my favorite onsite cafeteria on property. They have a great menu with something for everyone at every meal. On this experience I had a turkey sandwich with housemate chips. The sandwich is one of my favorites loaded with flavor and a large portion. After paying I was able to sit in their raring area that is themed to 50's retro. They play old black and white clips while you eat. When you stay here I strongly suggest trying Bayliner. You don't be disappointed! read more

They have a great selection of food and the prices aren't bad at all! We usually get the spaghetti and meatballs (it comes with a breadstick) the Brazilian churrasco with chimichurri is delicious! They prepare it for you right there and ask you how you'd like the steak cooked. It comes with your choice of 2 sides. We used to get the Mediterranean flatbread but unfortunately they changed it to a new one and it isn't as good. For dessert we get the strawberry shortcake and the chocolate cake. Over the course of my stay I had 2 orders of the Brazilian Beef Churassco and 1 order of mojo chicken. The Brazilian beef was cooked exactly to my liking both times I got it (which I thought was impressive for a walk up place). The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the rice was very good. Despite the line being long the workers were always very nice. The scenery inside was nothing special, just your normal walk up food place inside a hotel. We have tried the following: Biscuit and gravy a la carte: Very good but not fabulous. For the price a great deal and very filling. Bacon a la carte: good portion for the money and very delicious. Sausage a la carte: ok, nothing special....could have been cooked more on the outside for my liking. Bacon, egg and cheese croissant with home fries: delicious and great value for only $7.99 Chicken tenders: Perry good French fries: they are crinkle which I love but need to be more crispy with more salt. The world has gone crazy. It's over!! I am absolutely mystified at how anyone can give this place a good review. It is Terrible, disgusting, dreadful, horrible, gross, foul, horrifying and nasty. The cheeseburger did not taste like beef. It tasted like canned dog food smells. Daughters chicken strips were tough and not edible. Breakfast was just barely better. That was possibly one of the worst breakfast over ever had in my life. I now understand why the Starbucks line was ten miles long. The theming here is cute. I like the nice little ads they have playing in the dinning section. The food however was awful. Okay I'll bite I did have some decent pizza the night before but that wasn't enough to save it. A rubbery and cold waffle. So tough it was nearly Inedible before using the provided Microwave. French toast that was also cold served with a side of the most grease covered bacon ever. And a sad looking omelette served with salt pretending to be potato's. Staff is also extremely grumpy. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else on property read more

This is located within the lobby of Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort Hotel. It's a 1950's style diner. You grab a tray and choose the meal(s) you want, sides, dessert, etc. The resgisters are all in a row but they all are quite slooow. Word of advice, if you're starving, you may have a tendency to grab more than you need -- slooow down and don't let your tummy take over. Ha! We ate here three times. All times we were exhausted and needed food at the moment. We attended a conference for the week and didn't get back to the hotel until late. The food is decent for what it is but we were starving so that could have also made a difference in our opinion. It is rather pricey but so is everything else in the area. I had the kids spaghetti and meatball meal and hubby had pizza. The 2nd time, I had some sort of jerk chicken with rice and platanos. That was delicious! Hubby opted for chicken and fries. The third time we came by, I had the same. I love fried plantain bananas! Hubby had the special of pork loin steaks. The dining area is huge! We always opted to sit in an area far away from little kiddos. The 3rd day we ate here, we brought our food outside so we can enjoy the beautiful evening breeze near the poolside. We both had work to catch up on and study for some certifications. Ha! Aren't we so dedicated!? I wouldn't make a special trip to come here but if you're staying at the hotel, this place is convenient. Oh, there's also food available at the bar upstairs next to the bowling alley if you're looking for convenience. The cafeteria-style dining at the value resorts down in Orlando is often hit or miss. I was so happy with the food at Bayliner Diner in Cabana Bay though! Not only was the food always good (I dined or bought there things 6x while staying at the hotel), but the prices weren't terrible and the staff was great! Seriously both those working at the registers and those making the food were really friendly and personable. I always had good experiences when grabbing food to dine in the diner or to go. I had breakfast a couple of times at Bayliner Diner. One time I had apples ($.99) and pork sausage ($2.60) - totally filling, not terribly unhealthy and all was tasty. I had the Breakfast combo for kids $5.86 which totally filled me up. It was more than enough for me as an adult. I couldn't come close to finishing everything and my friends envied my smaller portion. One evening I had a Chocolate Milk and BBQ Pork Sandwich for $12.02. Another big portion, solid option that was pleasing to me. All in all, I had good food any time I grabbed it from Bayliner. I found the employees to be even more lovely than any I encountered in the parks! They keep wine & bottle openers in their register if you need some assistance opening your liqs. They do sell some bottles in the Bayliner diner, as well as a ton of other candies & goodies, some breakfast items and supplies to make Smores! You want to make Smores while staying at Cabana Bay! Bayliner Diner is very convenient if you stay at Cabana. They have almost regular food such as pizza, spaghetti, pasta, sandwiches, hamburgers, ice cream, coke... All are of course overpriced. I gave it 3 stars because it's always a bit too cold in there. I really enjoy seating there but couldn't stand the cold. Also they offer the same food day by day so if you stay here a week , hmm... you might want to get food outside. I tried spaghetti with meat balls and salad and they were very good! This place has no business being as good as it is, and yet it honestly is just solid. Located in Cabana Bay Resort, here you find a cafeteria full of food options for all the main meals, with reasonable pricing, ample seating, old school TV running, and fast service. The portions are all reasonable, and the pizza is actually not bad at all. I love having this option, as we can go here multiple times on our vacation and eat something different each time. It also solves the problem of having multiple people all wanting different things, and keeps the price much lower than a general sit down restaurant. I read on a review that someone compared this food to more expensive cafeteria food and they're right. The pepperoni pizza ($12.35), bread sticks ($2.99), a total price of $16.34. For $12.35, I had a decently good pizza, although for that price I would rather eat at Blaze Pizza. For $2.99, I got 2 cold breadsticks that didn't even taste good, it almost had no texture to them. Can I also inform you that if you want a soda from the refrigerator it costs $4.99... Who charges this much for a soda... Really? You're better offer ordering something through Grubhub or Uber Eats. You'll spend less per person than eating here. You'll probably even have enough money to go bowling inside of the hotel after you eat. read more

So you need to remember that this is hotel food which is notorious for being underwhelming. We got breakfast here and the eggs were the premade bag o' eggs that you would get at a Hampton Inn for free. The sausage was not good. The fried potatoes were cold. The biscuit and gravy was cold. So pretty much all the food was cold and over priced. It was basically the Hampton Inn breakfast that we paid $25 for at Cabana, unfortunately there isn't much in the way of options on the resort. Let us start with the fact that the decor and style of this restaurant is spot on. There are various stations where you can get different types of food depending on the mood, it is a cafeteria style restaurant, the hotel is the moderate priced one in the Universal complex. I have had breakfast and lunch here, you can get omelets in one station, breakfast sandwiches in another, and so on. I always get the omelets made to order and they come with breakfast potatoes with them. They are as delicious as you can find anywhere else, and the prices are actually great, especially considering you are in a hotel in a theme park. My dietary restrictions make it difficult for me to find food in most places, but for lunch I have never had a problem - I get the delicious black beans and white rice with a side of potatoes or the tofu stir fry and again, I have been nothing but impressed with the food and prices. They offer a Churrasco meal for the carnivores for about $13, with generous portions of beef, there is also a salad bar, pizza, hamburgers (and veggie burgers), and even have the classic tuna casserole that was so popular in the 50's and 60's keeping up with the theme. For anyone who is wondering, my daughter LOVED it! The drinks have a sensor, so you have to put your cup ON the sensor to get your beverage, and can refill about 5 mins later. It was pouring rain so we opted to go here for dinner. Meh, wish we'd ordered something delivered instead or just went out in the rain. Portions are a good size but the food is SO bland! They are limited on things healthy too, salads were just a bowl of ceaser.....the salad bar is shut down and there is no station to have them made. For condiments, they are so paranoid about COVID that you have to go and ask someone for things...even salt and pepper packets. The staff must really hate their jobs and dealing with tourists.
