Baya Bar is one of my favorite smoothie shop chains in the city! They have a great selection and variety of smoothies, juices, and bowls and have a ton of locations scattered around the city as well. This Fort Greene outpost is located right on the corner of Lafayette and Fulton. Although the shop is small, the large windows make it sunny and there is a little square outside filled with tables and chairs and benches if you wish to sit down and enjoy your drink for a while. This place is usually such a hit and soooooo good. I always get the same thing-- the pacific beach açaí bowl! However, I have noticed that the quality and service here is not consistent. Often when I go, I am very satisfied with my bowl. But the last 2 times I've visited have left me feeling very meh about returning. From barely any fruits put on my bowl, to them not having any hemp granola left (I'm allergic to nuts) which I would have appreciated being told before placing my order for a large bowl. read more

Came here on a whim on a hot Sunday morning and the Pacific Beach acai bowl hit the spot. I appreciated the generous helpings of coconut, blueberry, and strawberry that helped ease the pain of the $12 price tag--pricey but admittedly comparable to similar places in the area. I would've personally wanted less honey, so might be worth asking them to adjust how much they drizzle on if you also prefer a more subtle sweetness. Smoothie here is quite pricey coming to 10.88 after tax for a 20 ounce. I would also recommend checking your smoothie before drinking because midway through my drink I found blue plastic bits. Went back to return, no apology received but at least was able to get a refund. read more

I don't even think my check ins reflect how often I come here - I probably eat here once a week. They have great açaí bowls, probably some of my favorites in the area. They're usually pretty prompt, too. The inside is small but you can sit and eat outside at the shared section with Baba Cool or any of the tables in the square nearby. They've got a good variety - not only do they have açaí bowls, but they have coconut bowls, pitaya bowls, and as of recently, mango bowls. Baya Bar is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to grab a quick smoothie post-workout or while enjoying the sights and sounds of Fort Greene. The smoothie selection is out of this world - there's a lot that sounded amazing but what I really appreciated were all the smoothies that come with protein powder. I highly recommend the Billy BK, which has whey protein powder, strawberries, and banana. Seating is really limited here, but you can sit anywhere outside in the plaza which is really quite nice. Baya Bar has a new establishment open in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn! I attended the Baya Bar Grand Opening at this new location on 4/10/21 and it is just as great as the Baya Bar that I enjoy going to on Avenue N in Mill Basin. Baya Bar was kind enough to a give a free Bowl to the first 75 Customers. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see a rather short line. Well, that became very short-lived and soon became a distant memory as people came and the line extended to the end of the block in a matter of minutes-lol. Baya Bar is on Lafayette Avenue right next door to Peaches Restaurant (yes!) and in the same nearby community where BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), Brooklyn Moon Cafe and so many other great places are - It is cool that one can go shop at Atlantic Mall and then walk over to Baya Bar. Very Convenient! A Baya Bar Employee walked up and down the line and provided us with to-go menus. Baya Bar has a nice variety of fFesh Juices, Smoothies, Boosters, Bowls, 1 Day, 3 Day and 5 Days Supply of Organic Cold Pressed Juice Cleanses, etc. We were able to choose from either one of their Coconut Bowls (reportedly packed w/ vitamins, fiber + electrolytes that promotes Brain Health), Pitaya Bowlsl (that has Dragon Fruit which helps lower Blood Pressure) and Acai Bowls (that have Acai which ia a Superfruit). One can also add toppings that can range from chai seeds, to coconut shavings, bee pollen, protein and even Nutella! I ordered the "Acai-U-Later" Bowl -Pineapple, Banana, Granola, Strawberry +Honey. Packed with fresh fruit, this Acai Bowl was delicious! It came neatly packed by staff who took orders and delivered service w/ a smile. I've been craving an açaí bowl for about a week now and surprisingly these are not so easy to find! I was looking up breakfast in the area and Baya's bowls came up. The menu is clear and easy and there are lots of good options. I went with a strawberry, blueberry, coconut and honey açaí and it was delicious. 12 oz is just the right size if you want to add a light savory breakfast item to your morning. I plan on trying the pitaya next. My only concern was the mask-less staff (regardless of vax status). While I get tested twice a week for work and am vaxxed, I'd feel more at ease if some sign was immediately visible inside or on the front of the door as opposed to tucked on the side, either enforcing or making masks optional for vaxxed folks was in place or at minimum, masked staff. read more

I've been looking for a juice bar around this area so I stopped here. Note my review is for the açaí bowl. the place is clean and the staff are friendly. While I was waiting for my order, I wondered why I did not hear the sound of a blender (there was no music so it was quiet inside). It turns out the açaí is premade? Also the strawberries that I asked for a topping had a lot of yellow in them. I mean the price was reasonable, but it wasn't what I expected. The yellow strawberries and the premade açaí just wasn't it for me. The first time I tried out Baya bar I wasn't a huge fan of their smoothies, but I said I would give them a second chance maybe it was an off day and when I tell you I'm so glad I did. This is now one of my go to spots in the neighborhood. So my new go to here is the acai -u-later bowl. It's an acai base bowl topped with strawberries, pineapples, bananas, one of the best granolas I've ever had and drizzled with honey. I got a small the first time for $11 and decided after the large $13 bowl was so worth the extra $2 on my next few trips. Highly recommend the açaí bowls here! I used to live in Hawaii and have struggled to find a really good açaí bowl since then. This place has changed that! The açaí base is thick in consistency and honey-sweet (but not too sweet). Fruit was fresh and good, and the granola is also tasty. As for the in-store experience, I've only picked up after ordering online. My bowl has always been done within 15 minutes, and staff is friendly and efficient.
