So many smoothie options! It can get overwhelming but I loved all the options of flavors they created. I chose the Caribbean Storm smoothie and added spinach. One thing I appreciate is that the Medium size does the job. They fill your smoothie to the top of the cup so I paid around $7 for that. Compared to smoothie places now, this was a steal. The smoothie tasted really good because of the coconut flavor. They have indoor seating but I didn't want to sit inside. It wasn't busy so my smoothie was blended and ready to go in less than 5 minutes. I would go back again to try another one. read more

I'm sitting home with a fairly mild case of COVID, and so I wanted something healthy to eat. I still have my taste and smell so I was looking for something flavorful as well. I'm also in need of some red meet so I ordered a custom bowl with bison, quinoa and "Roasted Cauliflower" which is one of the most delicious veggies ever and would likely taste good with the Chipotle sauce they offered. Except when it came I had brown rice and steamed cauliflower, not even close to the same flavor palate and while the chipotle sauce was good it was only on the meat and no extra. So I just paid $14.50 for plain bland brown rice and cauliflower with a little bit of sauced up and not very good meat. Sitting in my room all day, unable to see people or do anything on Christmas was less disappointing than this meal. Overall: My wife and I are staying at a little AirBNB nearby. This place was very close and convenient for breakfast (where we were at least). I love trying new healthy spots - especially in neighborhoods that've underwent re-gentrification. I stopped in to get green juice (broccoli, spinach, carrot and celery) - can't really mess up juice. Ordered a "Energy salad" w/salmon - which includes cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, shaved carrots and balsamic dressing and pita bread on the side. Problem 1: the salad made to order but the ingredients weren't fresh; the tomatoes were pale and the rest of the salad tasted like the fridge. Problem 2: the salmon wasn't fresh AND its farm-raised. Looking back, that should've been the first thing to ask. FYI - the veggie patties are pre-packaged and frozen (YUCK). This was my first and only try here as I can imagine the other foods aren't fresh. Totally disappointing - and I spent $20! Nope. Never again. Great smoothies, good quesadillas & uninspiring burgers/fries. I've tried both the Pitaya Dragon Fruit and Berry Camu Smoothies. I fell in love with the former and it's my religious go-to for that tropical/berry profile. The latter has a refreshingly delightful tartness. My roommates and I all frequent the smoothie menu here. I quite like the zesty steak quesadilla, too. It's a nice combo of sweet and spicy between the cheese and chipotle sauce, respectively. The steak was easily chewable and the grilled peppers/onions were a great pairing. Taste-wise, the whole grain tortilla was not off-putting at all; though it doesn't fix the fact that this particular quesadilla is quite unhealthy relative to the menu. I've also tried the BBQ chicken quesadilla- dry and forgettable until more cheese is added. As for burgers/fries, I really wouldn't recommend them. Neither the BBQ turkey burger nor Angus burger were juicy enough to reorder; nor did the combo of whole grain bun, toppings, and lack of sauce convince me. (if you are diet conscious, you probably don't want to combine fat and carbs for lunch/dinner anyway. I'd recommend a keto burger or low fat burger elsewhere.) Lastly, I recommend the potato fries over the regular fries, but they leave much to be desired in texture and seasoning. Based on what I've sampled, Energy Fuel has it's strengths and weaknesses, but it's a consistent spot for smoothies. Their workers are polite and quick, and I'd honestly rate this place higher if they only sold smoothies. I'd give ZERO stars if I could for this bunch of incompetent idiots that work in this establishment. I live 2 blocks away from this place and when I ordered for delivery I was told 10-15 minutes. I called after 45 minutes to learn that they were in front of my building (supposedly) but never called my number or rang the apartment bell. Once I confronted the staff they started finding excuses and were talking back to me in extremely rude fashion. Let down by my earlier experience, I decided to give in and get myself another juice. This time, it was fabulous! I have bern a regular for the past year and my experience started w smoothies.... which was always good w the option for me to customize.... Then I started ordering a side of guacamole.... i got hooked so so good.... Recently i tried the Texas Turkey Burger w Lettuce and Tomatoes.... the taste is out of this world. Customer Service is excellent. My meals are always packed nicely and is always fresh. Also this place is always packed with regulars and people ordering take out. I went to Energy Fuel yesterday and the food was terrible. I ordered salmon with broccoli with an extra side of spinach with brown rice. It was the most ill prepared food I've ever eaten while staying in Brooklyn. It was as if someone who knew nothing about cooking prepared my meal. 1. The salmon was cooked until it was parched and crispy around the edges. The edges were literally crisp and hard as a rock. There was no moisture left in the salmon. 2. The broccoli was charred visibly burnt. 3. The rice was hard, too chewy and undercooked. 4. The spinach was overlooked and salty. When I asked to speak with the chef about the overcooked dry salmon he defended his poorly prepared salmon. The service staff was unempathetic and refused to make accommodations nor refund my money. They all had unprofessional attitudes and were unwilling to recook the fish or offer any solution to a poorly prepared meal. Gong there was such a waste. Poor food. Poorer service. AVOID! read more

So I was excited when Energy Fuel opened up because you know, sometimes you just really really need a smoothie in your day. I had actually never been to any of the other EF stores before so can't compare, but this one seemed clean and tidy and new. The menu is a little confusing and I had to ask the prices of everything, but the man working was super friendly and not at all annoyed by my confusedness. (For the record, small smoothies are $5ish and they take cards for any amount!) I got a small smoothie with peaches and mangoes which was possibly the least healthy of the options. I also asked if I could get some strawberries thrown in -- no problem! The small was HUGENORMOUS - like a large cup anywhere else. I actually thought there'd been a mixup but no, the small size is just really big. It was pretty good too. Nothing super fancy and a little on the sweet side because of the mango juice, but it definitely hit the spot. And $5 for a tasty drink and good service is a sweet deal in my book! read more

I recently moved to the neighborhood and with so many smoothie/juice places within walking distance, I decided to check this place out. I've gone twice and had fairly different experiences. The first time, there was no one in line so the worker made our two smoothies pretty quick. I was hoping the banana strawberry smoothie would have a little bit more flavor, but it sufficed. My partner got the Banana Latte smoothie plus peanut butter and OMG it was delicious!! Noted for next time....so a few days later, we ordered two of those. There was one person ahead of us (and only one person working), so we knew we'd have to wait a few minutes. A few folks came in after us and were told that their orders (1 juice/smoothie per person) would take 15 minutes -- I thought to myself, wow that's a really long time for one thing. But they waited. She called us for our order, we tasted it and realized that there was no peanut butter added and for a $1 upcharge, we had to say something. The worker completely forget and apologized profusely while making us a new drink. Thankfully it didn't take more than 4-5 minutes, but when you're in a rush, it's definitely not the smoothest experience (no pun intended).
