The Bay trail is Very Long... this portion goes around the bay, past South SF Airport Costco and North, look at the Airport!

Great trail- it's paved and travels for several miles between the businesses and the bay. Not many walkers. I've been coming here for years. It has always been a safe trail, there is a mixture of dog walkers, bird lovers, bike riders and walkers. Never feels crowded. To find it: 1) Go to SSF Costco, there is even a plaque on the buildings wall 2) find the small parking lot between the Costco and the water Treatment Building Park. 3) Walk over the large pedestrian bridge - wood planks with brown Steel beams -enjoy the birds in the slow moving stream 4) Turn right at the end of the bridge onto the asphalt paved trail. There are rest areas, benches, and a few interpretive signs. Some sensitive areas are blocked off, stay on the path. Birds have nests in the brush and muddy shoreline . Lots to look at. The trail is marked with mileage signs. Bring a hat and water. Wear comfortable shoes. Bring a jacket, it can be windy. If you have a dog, use a leash.

Pavement nice and smooth, safe for kids and dogs

Well maintained, good parking. Doggie DooDoo bags supplied. Benches if you get tired.

Well, it isn't the most exciting stretch of the SF Bay Trail, but you probably could've figured that out for yourself. Stretching from the top of Sierra Point to the edge of SFO, the mostly paved trail snakes around bland business parks, mundane marinas, and poop-freckled pavement. Yet, it held a certain risk-averse appeal. It's over seven miles out and back, and if you manage it in one fell swoop, you're certainly a more motivated person than I am. It took me a couple of visits. I parked at Sierra Point and tackled the northern half on my first walk, and I just parked at Oyster Point to tackle the rest of the route. Truth be told, there wasn't that much difference in the terrain or the bay views between the two halves. It was pleasant enough if you don't mind a lot of wind whipping you around. The paved walkway works its way around the edges of the peninsulas with footbridges and plenty of benches along the way. It becomes a meandering path interrupted sometimes by bicyclists, joggers, and the occasional pack of Genentech colleagues holding walking meetings. Breaking up the monotony were several marshlands along the way with plenty of seabirds. Parking was a cinch at either Sierra Point or Oyster Point since there are public lots separate from the company-owned spaces. You'll definitely get your FitBit steps here, just not your flights. Great little section of the San Francisco Bay Trail. Our preferred entry point is near the Airport Coscto. The parking area is small but we have never had an issue. The trail is mostly flat however, there are a few easy slopes to break up the monotony. There are killer views of the bay as well as you can watch a lot of flight operations at nearby San Francisco International. There are multiple train entry-points and the only services are the parks along the route so plan ahead. Also lots and lots of wind so dress accordingly

We started at Sierra Point in Brisbane and walked all the way to 5.5 mile end, which apparently takes you right up to the Costco Airport parking lot. The northern half of the trail is prettier with views but windy, while the southern end starting from oyster point onward has more wildlife. Keep your eyes alert while you're enjoying a brisk flat walk. The climate here is always sunny but sometimes super windy. I tend to dress in layers. Bathrooms are available at Oyster Point and at Sierra Point. I also tend to park at these two points. Spaces are always available. Lots of people also picnic on the grass nearby.

Great place to walk the dog and reflect on things. Not crowded and a killer view! Trash cans along the way on this well paved and lit path. Super quiet!

Beautiful Day on the Bay at Oyster Point Bay Trail

I Love walking this trail. It is mostly flat some little bumps in the road, I wouldn't even call them hills. You can walk, run, bike, roller blade, jog stroll whatevery you want to do! There is a lot business people walking during their lunch. It is beautiful on a nice day. But can get a little windy, it is in South San Francisco, do you expect anything different? This is one of the few trails that are dog friendly that I have found!

Great stair stepper. Recommend mixing the sand with better drainage composition to reduce the mud.

Beautiful paved walkway for outdoor exercising. The stairs were great for a workout up the hill. Great view on your run. Well maintained not a lot of trash or gang baby scribbles. Parking was good at the end. Would like to see more outdoor lighting for dusk jogging.

Over 16 miles of walking trail....Great Free exercise!!

This trail is paved…read moreand pretty steady and not too difficult for about a mile but then gets a bit steeper for the next mile to the top. On the way up you can see views of the San Andreas Reservoir Lake. After the rain you can hear the water flowing and see some little streams and wild mushrooms. To the ridge is a little under 2 miles. I like the fact there is a small bathroom which I find quite rare on trails like this. To the left is the San Francisco Discovery Site which has a plaque with some information. Apparently, this was the place the Spanish settlers first saw the San Francisco Bay. To the right the trail goes along the ridge to the remains of the old Nike missile site. The views are stellar, and one can see for miles on end, Marin, the city, Pacifica Mount Diablo, etc. I love watching all the planes coming in and out from nearby SFO. From Sneath the hike is about 5 miles and 2 hrs. I've also gone the Mori Trail route which is nice because it's not paved but this trail is steeper. It's worth checking out the funky Shelldance Orchid Gardens which is located at the trailhead but they are only open on the weekends.

This is a nice enough spot to go for a hike. It was easy to find my way to the Sneath Lane Trail…read moreParking using google maps, a small lot within a residential neighborhood, that fits about 10-15 vehicles. It was foggy, cold, and incredibly windy during my visit last week, and of course, there's an incline as the trail wraps around the mountain. But it wasn't too bad, the actual climb up didn't feel as difficult as it looked from a distance, starting with the sneath lane trail then connecting to other trails higher up. In fact, there are many options for different trails to take. The Baquiano Trail had a dirt pathway while the Notch Trail toward the Nike Missile Control Site was paved. Near the SF Bay Discovery Site, there's a small restroom building (it was pretty clean for a park facility, on a Thursday afternoon). The gorgeous foliage lining the various paths was captivating, along with lovely views of the hills, lake (san andreas reservoir), and sunlit scenery in the distance. Too foggy to enjoy the views the higher you get though, just a giant cloud of fog everywhere. I barely made it three miles out before turning back. It was just far too windy and foggy to wanna be out there very long (I'm sure hot days would be even worse with zero shade to be found). Plus my legs definitely had a workout from the uphill trek. Luckily the jog back down was a breeze. And I did slow down to appreciate the vegetation and vast array of plant species, once again, before leaving.
