Found myself at Bayview Park after an impromptu decision to take my dog out for a short hike…read moresomewhere that was about 10 min away. The park is located in the southern part of the Bayview neighborhood close to the water and Bayview freeway. The entrance is a bit discreet but is found at the end of a neighborhood street that ends in a dead end. I went at around 3pm on a weekday and found street parking right at the end of the street. I don't recall having to pay for a meter. The hike itself is about a 1.5 mile loop with a bit of an incline in the beginning that'll get your legs and glutes warmed up. once you make it to the top of that incline and circle the loop, you'll get really nice views of SF, South Bay, the water, and Twin Peaks. The distance itself was perfect for a quick stroll with a path that's distinguishable and there were only 2 people I came across. If you are walking a pet though, there is one area with some big rocks near a ledge with cool views that i advise caution as there was a lot of broken glass by the rocks. If you live in the area, like within 10-15 min, it's not a bad hike.

The distance was just right for a five and seven year old in a group. For our 3-year-old she did need to be carried for about half of it. POPULARITY Not very crowded at all! We saw just a couple other people over 1-2 hours. It was a very warm, sunny Sunday in early July. SHADE The route had medium shade - there are tall trees all around, but if the sun is right overhead, you'll get sun exposure. PARKING & AMENITIES No dedicated parking lot, no water or restrooms, there were several parking spots right at the trailhead around 1pm on a Sunday. STROLLER-FRIENDLY While you could do the entire hike on paved paths, the first section going up to the loop is very very steep and the pavement is not very well preserved with a lot of potholes so I was actually glad we did not bring our stroller. ADD'L INFO In July the plant life is quite dry and sticks to clothing so I should have worn tougher hiking pants rather than my nice yoga pants, which ended up covered in burrs. There are a couple side trails (unpaved) you can take for extra viewpoints as well as one to go to the peak of the mountain.

The sun comes out and shines on the lagoon, giving off a beautiful view of the bay. No wonder the people here are friendlier. It has that small town feel, the donut and coffee shops, deli and the restaurants all are so comfy for being so close to the city and our major airport. You might even feel at home. Or you could forget where you are, the sun shines here here almost daily, since you are tucked in the side of the mountain, it can get a couple degrees warmer as well. The parks are beautiful, the gazebo and picnic areas, a skateboard park and basketball court. I went to a baby shower here recently and it was really nice. The outdoor areas are great for park parties. The streets are clean and the main sign in town announces when your Utility Bills are due. Small town charm is alluring when you grow up in the city, having both in my life is balancing. I love Brisbane.

(Every weekend ) I love the small town, homie, cozy, escape, mini vacation feeling about this beautiful city. Especially the location so close to the bay. My favorite is that every home here has a symbol of a and I love it when they are all lit up for whatever reason... it almost makes you feel that much closer to the stars and the . My favorite view is the moon's reflection on the bay when it appears and disappears. That nice crispy air definitely not dry at all to breathe. The friendly neighborhood locals. The family oriented feeling and seeing everyone out and about. The park events and the fact that I feel safe here.

I loved the convenience of parking and the greenery and view. A car parked beside us and a group of people started smoking weed so I suppose this is a meeting spot to do that as well. Found the philosophers trail but quickly realized that it was not stroller friendly so headed towards the other side of the park with picnic tables. The rocky path was decent but still caused my baby's head to wobble a bit. I looped up the paved path between picnic benches and ended my walk there since it was incredibly windy and chilly. I recommend this park for a lunch date or a stroll (without a stroller).

There is a ton of free parking available at different points of the park, along with restrooms, picnic tables, and benches. There's a variety of different terrain (flat concrete, grass, hilly dirt trails) in the park, making it suitable for dog walks, running, hiking, cycling, and recreational sports. It is far less busier than GGP, which can be great if you're opting for a peaceful stroll in nature. Although not as polished as GGP, the park is maintained fairly well. I would highly recommend this park if you're looking for a quieter, less crowded peaceful retreat in the city. I also suggest previewing the map first, as there are tons of different parks within the park, based on the activity you're going for.
