No feeding the birds that is an aviation hazard. Great views. Very fun for aviation enthusiasts. Maybe bring your kids here so they see being a pilot as a career option. Pretty walk. I liked being able to watch the planes as they flew in and out. Low tide doesn't smell as good but it was nice to look at the things under the water which are exposed. People jogging and riding bikes. Enjoying the air and sunshine. Still a little cool but nice to get outside. read more

This is a nice spot for a walk along the bay, especially if you are the type who lives seeing all the different planes when you go to the airport. From here you can see all the takeoffs and landings from SFO, which is really fun! I got to see one of the huge Airbus A380's land, that is a beautiful beast. From this spot, a decent walk is south to the ancient (haha) Benihana and back. There's even a Starbucks & hotel lobby along the route, if you want to hang out in their giant solarium lounge bar. read more

This is a small park. The parking located about 100 yards away sucks and is nearly impossible to get a spot because it is swamped with Uber drivers waiting. So why 5 stars? It is a perfect place to do some plane spotting and aviation photography. In addition there is plenty of birds to shoot while you wait on planes. That being said it is dependent on the winds which dictate runway operations. If they are in reverse flow, the planes take off from 10 L and R and land on 19 L and R which I why I was out there getting wet taking plane pictures. Aside from that unless you are a glutton for aviation photography, like waiting for parking, or at a nearby hotel this park may not be for you. On the other hand it is alongside the bay trail so there is plenty of wandering you can do. read more

Cool people go plane watching! This park is like the sister to LAX-sightseeing Clutter's Park in that instead of having the view of the terminal area, this park has the view of the runway (and of course this park is instead SFO-focused). With SFO being a huge international flight hub as well, you can often see the big boi planes of airlines such as Emirates and Air France. Can clearly hear the loud sounds of plane engines revving up right before flight takeoff. As the park name implies, the park also has a fantastic view of the bay; there's a paved walkway along the edge of it. As other Yelpers have mentioned, parking is free but scarce for non-Marriott guests (about 15 spots outside of the gated parking area). I did walk to the nearby Marriott just for fun and the restaurant and bar there have a nice open view of the runway. Purdy cool Marriott to stay at I'd say. Definitely check this spot out for plane watching! Plane watching is pretty relaxing lol. read more

I look forward to my morning and/or evening walks here at Bayfront Park whenever I'm staying overnight near SFO. The sight of the ballet of incoming and outgoing flights, the birds, the seasonal florals and plants, the foggy scene of San Francisco, and little surprises here and there are simply magical. This is a great spot to watch the planes land at SFO!! The parking lot here is ridiculously small, the nearby Hotels take up a majority of the spots. I had to find a side street to park on. I came on a sunny, breezy day, perfect for a stroll along the paved path here. There are also benches here. There were a few locals and Hotel guests here hanging out, The Bay Trail also goes through here!! read more

So the wife and I are pivoting during this variant issue and finding places to go in the Road Trek traveling van. We have been looking for a place to enjoy views, walk the fur babies, eat a meal we pick up while overlooking great sites. We found this hidden gem. If you do not want to pay you can park outside the Marriott parking lot gates in the small area if it is not filled up but if you pay there are many spaces where you can back in like we did. We went local for breakfast at Milbrae Pancake House. We were so close to the SFO Airport that we were able to enjoy planes taking off and landing in this clear day! There is a Starbucks in the Marriott hotel which we walked by but will pop in next time to enjoy a cup of Joe or tea. If only bad dog owners would pick up after themselves then we would have had a more pleasant day. Why do I pick up after these people who are so careless. I believe in the doggie Gods and they will right this wrong through Karma. Maybe they will have all the neighborhood dogs poop on their property and bad people throw flaming doggie poop bag bags on their porches so they can stomp out the fire. Just sayin. Anyways other than that we will revisit this place and have a local lunch to support businesses in the area. Wifey and I approve this location to just chill. DMF and PVF approved hang out in the Bay Area! read more

We love this long, skinny park - basically a paved trail that winds along next to SF Bay with wonderful views of the Bay and planes taking off/landing at SFO. Quite popular with locals, there are a number of nearby hotels so tourists also find this delightful park a short walk away. The northern terminus is just past Millbrae Avenue; to the south, it might take a few detours, but the ambitious might be able to make it all the way to Coyote Point. We often park in a parking lot along Old Bayshore HIghway, by one of the restaurants or office buildings (some have dedicated public access parking for the trail set aside). Here there is no two hour parking limit, unlike at the hotels. It's good to always have layers handy, depending on the wind, as it can be chilly even in the summer. Although self-defeating from a calorie standpoint, we often like to stop at the Starbucks inside the Marriott hotel along the trail. This is one of my favorite parks because I get to see different airplanes land or take off. When I am done going to most of the malls in Santa Clara County this is where I go to walk. If you like taking photos this is the place to go. Please do not use a phone because it will be blurry. Bring a digital camera, the photos are better. It's such a great view of SFO and the runways. If you are lucky there is also a meetup hosted by SFO if you are a diehard plane spotter like me. There is also some cranes (as in the bird) or marshland herons that may linger near the bridge. It's a lovely sight. Note: Another park is nearby so if you can feel free to walk there if possible. Drawback: Parking is limited so please do it wisely. read more

I love this park because it is so scenic, tranquil, and conveniently VERY close to San Francisco International Airport while waiting for someone; I rather use my cellphone here rather than at the Airport's cellphone parking lot. View of the Bay and Planes 'Ello chaps! Bayfront Park is located in the shadow of San Francisco International Airport, with premium views of the runway and arriving and departing aircraft. There is plenty of walking/running paths and greenery to sit down, have a little picnic and enjoy the day. It's well located near several hotels, but amenities are few. Great park with lots of benches, stamina bars and walkway. I enjoy coming here because it's on the waterfront and dog friendly. I love doing outdoor workouts and this is a great park to rotate into my workout week. What I don't like-- the horrible parking. Had time to kill before getting to the airport and my boyfriend discovered this little place! PARKING: Small parking lot! It's attached to the parking lot for the Westin hotel and there are only about 10 spots or so that are for public use. The other spots are gated off for the hotel. You might get lucky (like we did) and find a spot right when you pull in. Parking limit is for 2 hours. You'll find people waiting in the tiny lot for cars to leave. VIEW: You get a direct view of all the planes taking off from SFO! You'll soon find that it is very mesmerizing watching the little planes and big planes take off. There are so many sizes! Of course, there are planes landing too. There are two "take off" strips and one main landing strip. Pretty interesting watching the planes taxi on the tarmac taking their turns to take off every few minutes. You can definitely smell the gas from the planes from here and the planes still look pretty small (they don't fly over the park or anything), so you're still watching from a distance. Some people bring food for a picnic (there are some grassy spots to sit and set up) or other just go for a stroll/run along the bay. read more

There is a similar spot in DC called Gravelly Point Park which is situated just before DCA's Runway 19, where landing aircraft soars overhead before touching down. Though the location of Bayfront Park isn't quite the same, you'll still get excellent views of landing aircraft, but also the smell of jet fuel and the roar of departing flights taking off from Runway 1R. As guests of the Westin Hotel, we had our parking covered so we didn't have to deal with the small parking lot that seems to frustrate other park-goers. We walked over to the park before walking along the Bayfront Trail. There are benches for sitting (all along the trail) and we saw lots of people sitting and resting, watching the planes come and go. Tide was out the afternoon that we strolled along the park and then down the path, but it was a very enjoyable walk. We walked quite a long way before turning around, and were blessed by perfect weather and a little bit of wildlife. Talk a walk if youre in this area! We would have returned on Sunday - the tide had come in and the Bay was full, but it was raining and cold, so we will have to return another time. read more

Once upon a time, I would drive to Bayfront Park, watch the planes take off and land, and wish I had a job in the airline industry. These days, I often drive to Bayfront Park, watch the planes take off and land, and wish I could get the hell out of the airline industry. Through it all, this place has been a constant companion. You can come at about 10 AM and watch a parade of 747s and 777s take off for various points across the Pacific, or around noon, when a similar variety of heavies arrives from Europe, or late at night when the airport is eerily quiet save the occasional redeye leaving for the east coast. Bring your bike or running shoes and make use of the Bay trail, which can take you as far south as Foster City. However you choose to use this park, it's hard not to like it, especially if you have even a passing interest in airplanes. read more

It's kind of a random place for a park yet it's placed just right. Why such juxtaposition you ask? It's located near the highway, next to the Bay near an airport, and close to the BART. I don't know, ostensibly, that combination wouldn't amount to a decent park. Bayshore's merits are: 1. Good for strolling if you're staying at one of the hotels near there. 2. Duck watching. 3. Experience planes taking off and landing 4. Enjoying the sight of the ocean has tranquil properties I've never been here during the day but I'd imagine it to be really warm. During the evening, it's cold so bring a windbreaker (or something heavier). Runner die-hards would probably prefer Sawyer Trail. However, If you dig the views and not afraid of that fresh 'ocean' smell, swing by. It's something different and worth at least a visit. read more

This park was across the street from my hotel the Aloft San Francisco Airport. I wanted to get out and get a quick run after spending the day before in three different airports and cooped up on planes, The park is not so much a park but more of a running trail along a waterway across from San Francisco International Airport.. The running trail is more like a series of walk ways joined together behind a series of airport hotels. The good thing is that is does give a visitor an option to get out and walk or run without having to use the hotel gym.. Some parts of the trail do have some green space with trees and plants. read more

Didn't really expect to like this place but it is actually quiet peaceful and lots to see. Starting with seeing planes land and take off from SFO is a pretty interesting experience. There's one runway that juts way out into the ocean and there are so many airplanes constantly setting off or landing. There are also a lot of different types of birds (I probably saw at least 7 species) since it is a marshy area of the bay. Water is super calm and walkway is nicely maintained and goes right along the water. Being a big fan of nature I didn't like how the other side was hotels, parking lots, and restaurants but it can make for a nice place to stop for coffee or even some food in the middle of the walk if needed =) Wouldn't mind coming for another stroll if in the area! read more
