I think Catamaran park is very worth it! The reasons why I think it is very worth it is because First The lagoon is so pretty at nighttime. Second The places here is so big, there are plenty of activities to do here like for example you can play soccer and other sports, Have a picnic and lastly you can have birthday parties here. Third, There are also a very big and fun play structure for kids 5-12 and sometimes even babies or teens go on the structure. And there are even tables to relax in or eat. Fourth there are also beautiful birds flying around at sunset! Finally There are cons about the park. First Gooses would poop everywhere even the basketball court!! And Last the bathroom would close at 8 PM!! So people's can't use the bathroom at 8 or later!! But still I think Catamaran park is a very good place to play or relax at for everyone! read more

foster city has many parks that surround the lagoon and this is just one of many that has a beautiful view of the water with many amenities. i used to train some clients at this park, using the circular path adjacent to the water. it was always well-maintained, but could be a bit windy at times. sometimes the ducks would leave their droppings, but it was otherwise a perfect place to run in circles and do some speedwork. there's plenty of grassy area to play frisbee, soccer, football or throw down a blanket and lounge around. there's also a good number of picnic tables scattered throughout the park. men's & women's restrooms are located towards the front, facing catamaran street, flush toilets running water and amenities provided. as for parking, there isn't a proper lot, but plenty of street parking along catamaran, and i've never had a problem parking here. read more

I don't live in Foster City, I visit relatives there. Along my route is this nice park with plenty of open space. During my visits, I sometimes think how fortunate we are that the developers of this planned community set aside land for parks like these. T. Jack Foster and his family get credit for planning Foster City. They could of put more homes there, but they didn't. I think the park is beautiful and spacious. Boy compared to what I grew up with, these Foster City parks are where its at to play tennis. To give some background, I have played tennis on courts with cracks, torn nets and blown out bulbs. All of the Foster City parks seem to not have these kinds of problems. Everything appears to be checked and kept up to standard. My doubles partner has said that I have become more boujee every since I started playing in Foster City. Surrounding the two tennis courts there is a beach volleyball area. Sometimes sand creeps up onto the tennis courts due to the wind. Adjacent to the tennis courts is one full court for basketball with lights also! I have never seen this before. There is a little playground next to the basketball court. Lastly, there is a huge soccer field that always seems to have games going on. What I think is crazy is that the Foster City lagoons/canals are right there. I just always wondered what would happen if a soccer ball gets kicked into the water and/or how often. Back to the tennis courts, my only gripe is that typically there is a warning light to tell you when to hit the light button. For whatever reason - the bulb is probably blown - we didn't get the warning and the lights turned off on us. Therefore, to solve this solution, my doubles partner and I hit the button ever 30-45 minutes, sooner than later to be safe. The picture I added shows when the lights went out on us, although it does look pretty. This is my go to court. The only other court I really enjoy playing on is on Edgewater, but this court has league play on Tuesdays and Thursdays which can be a pain to plan. read more

The Lake itself, while not technically part of the park, is certainly a major attraction as you can see Canada geese, seagulls, ducks, and even terns floating on the surface or circling high above. Windsurfers, kayaks, sailboats, even the occasional crew or outrigger boats pass by (though there is no place to actually put a boat in at this park. The park is very dog friendly, as long as they are kept on the leash. Lovely and clean park for outdoor boot camp.... well-kept and lots of folks out.. water view with various kayaks and canoes on the water, along the park's edge. Nice little track area for folks jogging and walking, and there are also basketball courts, which we utilized for a circuit agility and strength area. Doing yoga outside, warrior poses, etc... breeze blowing in your hair to cool one down... just sublime. Catamaran Park has an all-weather track, turf, sand volleyball pit, basketball court, and tennis courts with lights. And, get this, a CLEAN bathroom! Now that is perfection right there. I've been running here for the past year and I'll never get tired of this place. One mile here equals 5 laps around the track so it's definitely a lot of circles. But it's hard to get over that amazing view overlooking the bridge and the lagoon. This place is perfect for runners with bad knees/feet/ hips too. The all-weather track and turf add a nice little cushion for those achy joints. Downside is that this park does get pretty busy after 4pm on weekdays and during the day on weekends for soccer practices and games. If you go during these times there is a 20% chance you will get whacked in the head by a drifting soccer ball. Also beware, a couple breeds of birds really like to hang out around the left lagoon side of the track. Meaning you'll be bringing home some goose poop if you sit/ stretch there. Trust me, I've learned the hard way :( The basketball courts are usually busy all day. Tennis courts are busy sporadically. The sand volleyball pit is usually only busy during the day on weekends. read more

Simply put, my favorite park in the Peninsula. My friends and family are surely tired of hearing me extol the Foster City area, but Catamaran Park is really that awesome! The myriad of activities in this small park is astounding: basketball courts, tennis courts, a jungle gym, full soccer field with turf, and even a soft track for running around it. There's plenty of parking, bathrooms, and water fountains so just come here and relax. And of course it's so picturesque! The tributaries of the Foster City lagoon go right by this park, so you can hang out right by the water and wave at the passing kayaks and pedalboats! read more

Beautiful park alongside the lagoon in Foster City. The playground just got an update with all new equipment and it is fenced in. There is a basketball court immediately next to the playground and tennis courts immediately next to the basketball court. A large soccer field takes up the majority of the park. There are bathrooms here, which is a plus. My only complaints? There is no separate equipment for the under 5 set, and the basketball court and playground seem not to have been executed properly as the edge of the bb court touches a fenced edge of he playground.
