Beautiful park in the middle of a residential area. Was looking for a park to bbq late afternoon and fell upon this beautiful park I had never been to. They have lots of tables and bbq pits to barbecue on and it's a very spacious park with a nice playground and lots of space for kids to ride their bikes or skate. This is a nice place to come if you're in the mood for a picnic--there are several seating options, as well as a lot of open grassy areas that are shaded where you can lay out a picnic blanket and lounge. The park also has good paths for kids to ride their scooters or bike, and there are other amenities, such as a basketball court and a playground. The playground is quite overwhelming, especially on the weekends, though with lots of children and parents. If you're not into crowds, I would stay away from this particular park. But the rest of the park has much more open space. The park is also located next to the community center which is nice and air conditioned with bathrooms conveniently located on the ground floor. read more

It has a variety of different areas including outdoor basketball courts, pickleball/tennis courts, large playground and plenty of grassy areas and picnic tables for people to lounge. I live about 15 minutes driving distance from Washington Park, and would totally make the drive out here time and time again because it's truly a wonderful park (as if the massive amount of kids on the playground isn't an indicator). Their playground has your smaller kiddie area, older kid area, swings, and miscellaneous structures (stationary train, a structure that goes round and round (a fav with kiddos), some things to play drums on). Outside the playground area, you have your baseball field and I believe a basketball field a little farther out. It seems like every weekend there's a birthday party here as well, since their tables are conveniently located right between the playground and Rec center (with bathrooms). Honestly such a great playground to be in... and drive 5 minutes away and treat yourself to some ice cream afterwards! read more

Washington Park is my go-to public park when I want to play tennis or pickleball. I've been coming here for the last few months and its very evident how popular the local pickleball courts here are. The pickleball courts are set up at the end of the tennis courts ( at the time of this writing, there are conversations with city council converting these two tennis courts to pickleball courts). The pickleball community here is very tight, and are definitely regulars, however are incredibly friendly - most people are more than happy to play with you and willing to adjust playing level with the other playing partners. I decided to give four stars instead of five, since one thing that can be improved would be the quality of the lights at night, as well as the hardcourt (its definitely showing its age, and cracking in certain areas, resulting in bad bounces). Besides those two things, Washington Park is my go-to pickleball spot when I want to play on a weekday or weekend evening! read more

Clean and small parking mainly for toddlers and a few infant swings. I love bringing my baby here for the swings and there are restrooms in the vicinity. I also love that there's a park around the playground that I can push my stroller for a nice walk. Do rec avoiding this park on weekends, it gets pretty crowded. read more

It was very nice weather yesterday. It was warm and sunny. I am glad I could have some fresh air. The tree house and chair are so cool and beautiful. People are walking and playing with their dogs. Parents are taking their kids and few people are doing exercise here. It's very nice place to go to. :) read more

Very cool park right behind the train station. If there's a place kids and parents will love, it's this park! My nephew loves trains so that was excitement factor #1 upon arrival for our group. For me the most exciting part of this park was the recycled material used for the ground area! Having had a long recovery and lots of aches and pains post surgeries, the squishy floor material under the play structure area felt so good! If your physical therapist tells you to do exercises to strengthen your core and muscles, but you usually experience pain, come here to do them! Seriously, it feels like walking on moon shoes - I was literally jumping for joy with my nephew! read more

Great park! Was only here for about 2 hours. Family friendly. Folks were kind. Tons of picnic tables and the baseball/softball field is a dog park from 6am to 2pm. There was tons of dogs from 11:30 to 1pm on a weekday. Fewer dogs after 1pm. However once it hits 1pm, some teenagers and athletes were already there. read more

i'd been to this park many years ago, and it was a lovely park, with lots of green space, perfect for an afternoon picnic with friends & family. fast forward to 2022, and this park has received a facelift and is gorgeous with newly planted grass, flowering plants and benches. amenities: +picnic tables & benches (permit required for reservation) +green grassy area +tennis courts +basketball courts +dedicated parking lot +play structures +restrooms w/flush toilets & running water it does get crowded during peak hours and with the opening of the brand new community center to the east, i can see this park getting very crowded during the warmer months of the year. also, there's many outdoor events here during the year, be sure to check the burlingame parks & recreation website for more details! read more

This park is next to Burlingame High School, which is the large building on the park. There is lots of grass to walk on and many tall trees around the park,many eucalyptus. There are some interesting carvings from tree trunks in the park--little houses with stairs and other things. It is a fun thing to run into. It is convenient to the Caltrain station and the gardens are nice as well. It looks to be pretty well-maintained. read more

Nice tennis courts but... the white and white washed folks are a**holes like usual. My first time coming here and we were playing 1v1 pickle ball in the center court which had pickle ball lines. This couple said the court is for people who play tennis. I wasnt sure of the rules and didnt want to argue so I let them have it. Looked up the rules after I left and looks like I couldve played there. These a**holes didnt even feel bad that we left the court so they can play. Next time I wont be the nice guy. read more

Not my favorite park. It's new and very nice but on this particular evening Was completely invaded by teenagers. About 25 in total in about four or five different groups. One group took over the swing sets aggressively swinging and trying to break the double swing, another group Commandeered the cave, another group going berserk taking over play structure after play structure scaring all the little kids away and the last group of tween girls Planted right in front of the entrance to a climbing structure taking selfie's for about an hour and a half. How many freaking pictures do you need of yourself? Anyway, used to be a pretty decent park and it was mostly Burlingame Families but it seems as if the word has gotten out and now you've got teens coming from all over the place. read more

Spacious and dog friendly. The front has 3 bocce ball courts along with corn hole and a few other games. You have to bring your own materials to play though. Play ground area is HUGE. I usually play in the back of the park, by the rose garden, with my dog. Bathrooms and fountains are generally clean. Overall, great clean and friendly park for all. read more

This park is amazing. Wish I could give it higher ratings but like another reviewer said - this place can get invaded with teenagers. Decided to stop by on a Friday evening with my 2yo toddler around 4pm and it was almost entirely filled with teenagers/high schoolers. It seemed more crowded than it was because of all the larger kids. The kids were disruptive and took up all the space meant for little kids to play. One group congregated at the monkey bars meant for 2-5 yo. A couple other groups on the fake rock hill. On the top third level of the highest structure were a bunch of teenagers just sitting there with their backpacks thrown everywhere so my toddler couldn't get up to use the slide. And forget about getting near the swings. The teenagers were very disruptive - yelling curse words (lots), running fast with no care for others, leaving trash (boba cups, ice cream cups, plates of food) wherever they went. I've been here before on the weekends and although there's a lot more little kids, there were less teenagers. I would avoid weekdays. read more

Beautiful setting. Very well kept park. Stopped for a bathroom break & public restroom was clean & modern. The Community Center & other buildings there were impressive & apparently rentable for parties or meetings. It all looked brand new & it was a comfortable experience watching kids on the playground. I even took a video because I wished OUR town had something so beautiful. I saw a sign that it was built by a non-profit organization. read more

I have mixed feelings about this joint. The ex used to live literally across the street. Sometimes it was a calm serene place to hang out and other it's was a shit show of kids and moms driving and parking all wacky throughout the neighborhood. They used to show movies sometimes on war weekend nights but not sure if that still happens. There's also a building where there are often raging wedding reception style parties. Make of it what you will it's an all purpose public park with all sorts of uses. 3.5 stars read more

Outside of the separate-but-close toddler & bigger kid play structures, there is a shaded sandbox, winding paths among the trees, basketball courts, and what looks to be a bocce court off in the distance, as well as a baseball diamond. I've been here several times, and it also looks like there are reservable picnic tables for all BBQs and birthday parties. This place was packed but not overcrowded on a recent Sunday afternoon, and is worth going out of your way for! read more

We finally got our train-admiring son on Caltrain for the first time today. Some moms recommended riding up from San Mateo to Burlingame and walking over to Washington Park. That was a fun outing! I only wish there were more swings at Washington Park! There were only 2 swings, and my son spent a while coveting the swings (eventually he got to swing for a bit). Other than that, thumbs up for the park. It's got a huge play area with climbing structures, plus a large sandbox and a faucet for kids to get wet and messy. read more

I went to Burlingame to visit an old friend from Georgia who was staying with his mom during the holiday weekend. My friend's mom informed us that there was a free concert at Washington Park and since it was a warm and sunny Sunday we decided to check it out. Washington Park is a large park that covers about 19 acres of land and features a full size baseball diamond complete with a big grandstand area, tennis courts, a volleyball court, a basketball court, a soccer field and a children's play area. There are lots of finely manicured grassy areas and many large trees, perfect to throw down a blanket or a folding chair and enjoy a picnic. There is a large recreation center inside the park that my friend told me hosts lots of community programs and private gatherings. In fact he said his high school graduation party was held there. The free concert dubbed "Music in the Park" was held at the back of the recreation center. Music in the Park is a free concert series that takes place every Sunday during the month of July from 1 PM until 3 PM. While we were there we enjoyed the soothing, relaxing acoustical sounds of Oscar Reynolds. Oscar Reynolds is a Bolivian Afro & Peruvian trio that specializes in Bolivian pan flute and acoustical guitar compositions. Despite the fact that the concert was well attended we were able to stretch out because there is so much grassy area. It was nice just to lay in the grass, listen to the music, look up into the big trees, see bright blue sky and see moths and butterflies float about. I don't get a chance to be lazy often so this was nice. Concert attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic lunch. The park also sponsors a BBQ tent and sells icy cold drinks nearby. There is signage that says alcohol is prohibited, but I don't know how much that is enforced. I saw picnickers sipping on wine without any problems. Washington Park is just a short walk from downtown Burlingame and the Burlingame CalTrain station. There is a small parking lot and an abundance of parking on the surrounding streets. (Note: The recreation center is so far from the train tracks that we couldn't hear any of the train noise.) This is a lovely, medium-large park near the train station right on Burlingame Avenue. The play area was fabulous--two separate structures, one for larger kids (5-9) and one for smaller kids (2-5). Lots of interest, including climbing structures, zip-line, slides, and stairs. Separately, there is a nice-sized sandbox and two swings, which I actually don't think are enough for a park this size. The rest of the park is lined with beautiful, mature trees, and is a great place to walk with your dog (or just take a walk). Walking to/from downtown Burlingame is only a few long blocks (but you have to cross the train tracks). read more

This park has lots of trees and green grass. Great for familes, dogs, and for kids. This past weekend we had a picnic there. First, picnic tables need to be reserved. When we got there, there was suppose to be a sign to reserve our tables. NO SIGN near our location..Hmmm...yes, there was a mom and her daughter decorating easter eggs. They looked like were enjoying their time together. So, we decided not to bother them or tell them to move to a different location unless we utmost had to. After painting several eggs later, the mother and daughter left. When I say, it's great for families because that day there were families everywhere. Families watching the kids play softball/baseball. Yes, there were games throughout the day. How cute! Kids were riding their bikes and running in the grass. Parents even took their kids onto the playground. We had a great time eating and barbequing with friends and some of us played basketball. Please beware~there's doggie poo poo all over in the grass. We wanted to set up a volleyball net, but turns out that there was a doggie poo poo mine. Waaaah! I guess I have to brush up my volleyball skills some other time. read more

Came here on the weekend with some friends, brought some food and drinks laid out the blanket and just hung out on the grass. Was very delightful. Only downside is it is right next to caltrans and they the first honk is cool, like oh cool a train, and then the second and third honk your hoping they would leave quicker. read more

Having a toddler, parks have become a weekend staple for our family. I really enjoy taking our daughter to this park as it is a great place to sit and relax, have a picnic and watch our daughter play with other kids at the playground. She especially enjoys the sandbox area. :) I know a lot of my friends bring their kids here as it is clean, safe, and has great weather. Beats SJ being hot as hades and SF being cold and foggy (golden gate park area). If you want a fun place to relax with the family this is a great spot! read more

This is a cute little (big) park. Trees, greens, shrubs! On Monday, Memorial Day, Lucy was invited to one of her neighborhood pals doggy birthday party. "Becky" is a beagle celebrating her 2nd birthday. Very nice BBQ pits, picnic tables, lovely weather! Approx 25 people, and about 7 furbabies were in attendance. Hamburgers & dogs were being grilled, as we played fetch with the pups. They had the cutest doggy birthday cake for Becky, and goodie bags for the pups too. Tons of fun! Lucy didn't eat there, she's like that (too afraid she's going to miss something!) But scarfed up her piece of cake, once we got home. Lol. read more

I like the tennis courts here. I dislike the basketball courts so this high star review will be for the tennis only. Played here this weekend since one of my hitting partners lives close (within walking) and his stupid British SUV is always in the shop. Surprise surprise to those of you who overpaid for your Rovers and seemingly always have some kind of loaner. But I digress. Here's why I dig these tennis courts. Ours was crack free, it was a beautiful early sunny Sunday morning and we had no wait. That kind of stuff just makes me happy. And some REAL nets, the recycled bicycle tubes are eco-cute, but suck when you want to hit nothing but net. This is a semi-big park that offers a lot of activities to do like tennis, bocce, baseball, basketball, chess tables or checker tables, a playground for little ones. Or you can just walk your dog here. Or you just want to hang out to distress or read a book because there are a lot of benches or shady part where you can bring a mat or blanket to lie down. There are also a lot of picnic tables with a grill beside it. Also love the rose garden & the fragrant smell of it. The best of all is you have a free parking. read more
