There's a large grassy area that's perfect for picnics, birthday parties, or simply relaxing. My older kids also love using the open cement area to play volleyball, basketball, and other games. What I appreciate most is that the park offers something for everyone, from toddlers to older kids, while creating a safe and welcoming environment for families. The parking fee to enter the whole greater park is reasonable especially with all of the things you can do in Coyote Point. One of the cooler playgrounds we have seen, clearly this was really well thought out. Having the 3 story castle really got our daughter excited as soon as she saw it. The dragons to talk through to each other is really unique. Our daughter had a blast playing here and meeting a couple of kids early in the morning. Well maintained park, clean, seems to be a pretty safe spot. As a parent chasing a 4 year old the fencing between the big kids and little kids area was pretty annoying since it lacked gates where I would expect them to be.

Play structure is newer, grass is in great condition, and redwoods were planted as they should - in a cluster - to help support them in wind. (The San Leandro Marina - very windy - hasn't got a clue). Gross incompetence runs that city. This is a great city - I believe a lot of professionals working in San Francisco live here if they have kids. It just makes sense with school districts and parks and safety. There were plenty of koi fish and even a few turtles in the pond, which definitely elevated the experience. Don't expect to spend more than about 30 minutes here since it's really just one loop around the garden. Still, I'd recommend visiting at least once just to admire all the beautiful koi fish.

There was a lot of parking when we went on a Saturday afternoon. They had a few parking lots scattered in the area. There are a lot of picnic areas that you can reserve for the BBQ grills. There were plenty of bathrooms scattered throughout the picnic areas. The one I used was relatively clean and had plenty of toilet paper. They have a lot of trails here where you can bike or walk. You can watch the planes go in and out of the airport above you! There are also a lot of birds hanging out in and by water if you want to bird watch. I was hoping to catch some sea lions but I guess they weren't around. There is unfortunately a lot of powerlines in the area that would spoil an otherwise nice view but what can you do. I also saw there was a yacht club by the water! I saw you could rent the facilities for parties (not sure if you had to be a member or not).

Great place to walk your dog and burn some calories! In the morning/early afternoon the weather is typically mild, but as the afternoon hits, it gets windier and windier. This trail runs along the bay, from Millbrae to San Mateo. I start at the Burlingame Marriott, and make my way towards to Coyote Point park. What's great about this trail is that you can make it as long or as short as you want. I typically can make this hike anywhere between 5-10 miles, depending on how I feel that day. You'll be treated to stunning views of the Bay, SF skyline, and of course plenty of airplane taking off and landing. Currently Facebook's new building is being built, so you'll want to watch for construction in the area as you head towards Coyote Point Rec center. I typically park by the Marriott right off the Millbrae ave exit, across the street from New England Lobster. There's a public lot with 10+ parking spots, so if you get there early, parking is easy. Come bit later, you may need to park across the street. Wherever you decide to park along the trail, HIDE ALL BELONGINGS! Car thieves are common in this area. If you plan to park closer to the Burlingame Dog Park on Airport, I had my car broken into while parking here, but it was my fault for leaving stuff out in the back seat. Definitely a lesson learned.
