This is a very nice park with many tall trees. It seems like a nature preserve. There is a bridge to cross, and currently there is a little water in the river. The view is very nice. This is not the kind of park that has lawns, but the playground has a tall forest as the backdrop. There are some interesting statues and markers, and the drinking fountains have a rustic look. There are some old buildings here and the park is near city hall and community center . It is very peaceful here

Beautiful park in the heart of Belmont and close to hip restaurants and pretty houses with flowers and trees. Definitively a spot to visit when in Belmont, the park smells soooo good (not sure if there are eucalyptus or bay leaves, but definitively you will get happily intoxicated of these aromas). The water adds a fresh component as well as the bridge adds the photo opp part. It is a nice park to go with family or friends for picnics and walk around. Don't miss that lion at the entrance, looks like odd (more appropriate for a Chinese theme park I would say) but impossible not to take a pic with him as well!

What's better than going to the park? Concert in the park? Free concert in the park? Free concert in the park on the 4th of July weekend! I'm a follower of Tom Rigney and Flambeau music band, and they play every 4th of July weekend Sunday at Twin Pines Park, sponsored by the Belmont Park Boosters. We drive 20 miles from Sunnyvale, take the Ralston exit, pass El Camino Real, and make a left into the Park. Lucky for us, a rare parking spot is open right in front, although later we learn that the parking lot extends a long way back. But today, parking is scarce, with several hundred people in attendance for the concert. Will have to get there an hour early next time. The concert is right next to the parking lot. The early arrivals sitting on the few benches around the dance area. Hundreds of people sitting in their portable folding chairs under the trees around the grassy area in front of the stage. Others on blankets on the edge of the grass. Everyone trying to stay out of the hot July sun. Behind the audience is a refreshment area, run by the Belmont Boosters, with picnic tables and benches. We get a seat here, and I get a $4 link sausage dog for the wife, and $4 chicken dog for myself, covered with raw onions and ketchup -no French kissing here! The grill fires up, and a plume of smoke envelops us. The wife moves pronto, faster than a protester at a Trump rally, not wanting to get her hair and clothes smelling with the BBQ smoke. We sit on a beach towel on the side of the stage, farthest from the parking lot, with shade from the redwood trees, only about 20 feet from the stage, on the edge of the grassy dance area. Tom Rigney comes out with his violin, accompanied by guitars, drums, and keyboard organ players. He was the MC at the Sacramento Music Festival two years ago, and is world famous now. But he hasn't forgotten his roots, have played at this venue for 40 years! Rigney dressed up all black, with a fancy colored cape, and red leather boots, strikes up tunes from lively Zydeco and Cajun, waltzes, and blues. We are right next to the speakers, but the wife comes prepared with ear plugs, when it gets too loud. Older crowd, just like at other concerts for Tom Rigney, but there are a few kids. I'm one of the very few men in shorts and sandals. Not just any flip flops, but womens Vionic tide 2 rhinestone sandals -hey they go for $80 on the internet! 1931 big red pickup truck, beautifully restored, parked in the back. People dancing on the sunny open grass area in front of the stage. Many slip off their sandals and crocs (yuck!) , and dance barefoot to the music. One couple dances in segways. One older short haired Asian lady, dressed very unisexly, tries to dance, but looks like she's doing those slow motion Asian exercises. Now, even I, with two club feet, can dance better than that! Half way through the concert, there is an intermission, with the wife scrambling to beat the line to the nearest women's restroom. I move us back out of the advancing afternoon sun, onto one of the few back benches, newly vacated, just in time before another older couple with a black poodle dog comes up. Rigney sings all the favorites, including Jambalaya, House of the Rising Sun, Swamp Fever, and ends with that Johnny Cash train favorite, Orange Blossom Special. We've followed him from the Fresno Mardi Gras, Monterey Jazz by the Bay, Sacramento Music Festival to the summer concert series in Belmont. And we will see him at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee and the Southern Oregon Music Festival. Great venue this summer concert series in Belmont, every Sunday 1-4pm in June and July in Twin Pines park.

This is a nice park hidden away behind the Belmont civic center. We stopped by after lunch last weekend. There's a nice, large play structure (fenced in, so you can let the little kids run around) with a cool slide and even a fire pole. Camille (6) went back and forth on the monkey bars a few times. It was reasonably shady, even at 2pm. There are a bunch of Pokestops in the park, including four right next to each other in an area with logs and benches.

I love Twin Pines Park. It was the location of my Kindergarten, and 5th grade graduations. A Belmont staple.

Hello Gene, Thank you for reporting the yellow jackets. Could you tell us which picnic area you spotted them at?

There is nothing alike being surrounded by eucalyptus trees and the smell of eucalyptus itself.

The entrance is down a side alley off of Old County Road so it can be easy to miss. However, once you pull in, there is plenty of parking. There is a big grassy area to run around in and then a playground, separated for little and big kids, but with a connecting gate. Not a huge play structure but good enough for the little ones to burn off some energy. There is also a bathroom located onsite and for a public bathroom, it was pleasantly very well maintained and very clean.

The play area has rubberized floor for safety, tents above the structures for some shade from the harsh cali summer sun, and very light touches of a log-cabin/ wood theme. For younger kids the most dangerous and sometimes fun areas are: -The larger slide, getting to the top is a bit sketchy with a small ladder you have to climb off of to the right instead of straight. The slide itself is almost hilariously tall with lots of bumps and tight curves that seem like they are designed to injure your kid, just look at the pictures. -Wave machine, if your kid is into space and nasa you can get them an early start by jumping on one end of this and launching them into orbit.
