We've been to this park a number of times, but today it was the wildest wind ever! There were too many dogs today, maybe the windy weather..... there's a nice trail to walk around with your dogs on leash also, but my puppy didn't want to go up that hill today! Hahaha picky dog! The park rangers have been adding/cleaning up the fixtures around here. The restrooms were remodeled a couple years back and now there's a new bike riding cross-walk in the parking lot as one enters to the dog parking lot area.

When it comes to a one-place in the city that's loved by everyone, it has to be seal point park. From my experience, people really enjoy coming here in the morning and evening. There is also a great dog park which is usually very clean and not too busy. They also have bathrooms near the parking, I have never not found spot to park the car. They have also installed few musical monuments near the hill, they usually make sound when wind is blowing. Love this place, sometimes in the evening we can the car all the way to the top and watch sunset.

I've always enjoyed coming over to this park!!! I used to come here quite often when I worked in Hayward, I would jump on the San Mateo Bridge and head to Foster City and run on the Bay Trail which runs through this park! Big parking lot, very clean restrooms, and a very spacious place!! There's a big hill here where people come to get some hill work in, I've seen plenty of people just walking or running up and down that hill. It's almost always windy here, which feels great in the summertime, but chilly other times. So technically, this park is located in San Mateo, but it's actually right next to Foster City!! And the views of the San Mateo Bridge on the coastal side of the hill can't be beat!!

Nice park with good views and ample parking. There's also a large dog park on the south side. I will say it's quite windy here which shouldn't be a surprise but it makes it hard to have a picnic here. Definitely good for kite flying or a walk on a warmer day.

Seal Point Park is a wonderful spot to take a stroll, get one's steps in, climb some slopes, or just take in the beauty of nature in San Mateo. It's open as early as 6am and it says it closes half an hour before sunset. There is ample parking, well-maintained picnic areas and restrooms, a dog park and access for kayak and windsurfing activities. It offers a great view of the San Mateo bridge. Let's maintain this clean, safe, quiet and relaxing recreational area in San Mateo.

Just me chillin' in the sun!

We love love love this park/ocean. It's so relaxing and peaceful. After a long week, sitting, talking and listening to the waves is so calming. We've been here 3 times now and just love it. And we plan on returning soon. Very soon!

How Does it Seal ±55-acre park located in San Mateo with some great views and Bay Trail access. The Good: *Free parking *Restrooms *Huge 3-acre Dog Park *Access to the flat, paved Dog-friendly Bay Trail w/ amazing views of the Bay, SF and the Dumbo. *Some interesting public art *Great views from the top of the hill *If you're a plane enthusiast, you'll get lots of views of planes landing at nearby SFO. *Some stairs at the Northside of the park that seem pretty popular for running up that hill. *Access to nearby local parks that have playgrounds. *Picnic tables The Meh: *The park itself is kind of interesting but also not much to see other than the hill and Trail access. *Very popular place w/ lots of walkers, dogs and bicycles. *No shade anywhere in the park or along the trail. Yeah, I know it's on the Bay, so heat isn't really an issue most of the time but is still worth keeping in mind. The Ugly: *West Trail just abruptly ends; I'm not sure if this is a dirty trick to prevent people from gaining free access to Coyote Point (which charges $10) or just a coincidence. TLDR: 3.5* Overall, but a 1/2* bump for the views and trail access.

We were looking for a place to take a walk after having lunch and found this on Yelp searching under parks nearby. This doesn't look like San Mateo. It looks a bit industrial, yet it has areas of marsh land. Then you have these electrical towers. I probably wouldn't want to live near these things as they may emit something other than just electricity! You will also see a long stretch of land perfect for walking, jogging, biking and dog walking too! I'm sure some people were fishing as well. We were able to walk a few miles and get some exercise in. It was a pleasant day where the sun wasn't beaming down at us, yet it wasn't cold either. Lots of clouds covering the sun giving us mild temperatures. We had a nice time strolling in a new environment!

This was already here. The crayon is photoshopped.

No seals. 0 Stars. Maybe that's where they got the name. You point over there, asking, "Seal?" No. Point somewhere else: "How 'bout there?" "No seals." Pointing out a third time. "Seal?" "No, that's a trash bag" Hikers can walk an easy, clean, mile-long loop around the hill, or choose to trek 55 feet to the top for distant views of SF and Oakland and airplanes making their descents, full of jabronis eager to stand in the aisles. Once a trash dump, the barren top of cropped yellow grass has wind sculptures and installments including two close-together satellite dishes with amplification properties, one of which currently displaying, "Say I'm Gay" in graffiti. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Good place for dogs? Yes, there's an adjoining dog park (separate reviews). Looking to picnic here? The only shade is under your car.

Beautiful park with walking trails located next to the San Mateo Bridge. What this park has to offer: - Multiple walking trails (some up high, some right next to the water, and some in between) - Multiple parking spots - Views of the San Mateo Bridge and San Francisco - Bathrooms - Sculptures to admire - Benches to sit Came here on Monday afternoon to get outside for a stroll and it was beautiful! It does get chilly since it's next to the water, so I recommend packing a jacket just in case.

This place is awesome. It's spacious! If you like to walk, jog, bike, hike, fly kites, or into photography, this place is the place for you. We personally come here to eat our weekend lunch and then some walking around afterwards. It can get windy here as it is near the water, so dress in layers. Last time we biked here, the bike trails are limited, but we still got some workout. During that time they were working on extending the trails to under San Mateo bridge and extention to Burlingame area. We haven't been able to check if they are done with the construction work yet. We will come back and check it out. I will report back.

Hypocrite much? You didn't even provide water for your dog.

This is just an update: on July 13th Saturday. I came here with my dogs. As far as the park concern. This is a decent side park. Plenty of parking and only 3 dogs allowed inside. Unfortunately today I have 8 dogs. It's my job to bring these guys out with my yard being so small and all. Not adequate for 8 dogs. I brought down the most high energetic dogs. Got in at 11:36am. I noticed a guy in a Grey Toyota parked next to me. I am thinking this guy looks like the type to not mind his own business but too late to move the van. If I can be quick, I think it's ok. Checked the phone to see if the alarm is on. About 40 minutes for each group. Parked as close as I can to the park so I can keep my eyes on it. Windows rolled half way down on both and the fans with a backup battery is on. Set and go like I do a million times before. Training these guys and having a great time with them. Having a conversation with a couple of dogs owners thinking nothing of it. And here come a couple. One is a BIG size girl and the guy is that same guy that parked right by me. In my head is like red flags with uh oh! The female started off with "Excuse me! Those dogs in your van look hot and heavily panting" alarm vibrated to let me know time is up. So I replied with ok I am going back to the van now. We have not been there too long so yeah. Then she continues with I need to let you know it's inhumane. Also that little dogs can not reach the window. Wtf?!?! Ok...as I was saying I am heading back now. The windows is lower down half way and the fan is circulating with back up AC kicked in every 5 minutes. Annnnnnd what did she do. Kept on wasting my time with "You know that this is very inhumane" sigh ...now I am about to get pissed off. I told her "look! the windows are down the fan is on with AC kicked in every 5 minutes. What do you want me to do?" I obviously cannot bring eight dogs in the park. Three dogs allowed and this bitch just seems to not know how to shut her fat ass mouth. Then she and her boyfriend kept on going with the same shit about me being "inhumane and that I was there a long time." I then replied with yes I know it's inhumane in your eyes and no I wasn't there that long. But still she insisted I was. I looked at my time and it is now going to 50 minutes. Seriously if you are so concerned. Then STFU and i challenge her to call a cop. Go ahead! She kept on repeating herself some more with WOW added. Now she turned to other ppl walking towards us. Advertised some more about me being "inhumane " her only favorite word I guessed. I ran into another person I had conversation with before and she is like what is going on. I told her a short version and she was like. What are their solutions other than not minding their business. I can tell you that they took a pictures of my van and did called a cop. I got back and no dogs were harmed or panting. Also I sat in there and waited for the Park Ranger. Everything is exactly how I left and not even a bead of sweat. A female officer rolled by and didn't even come up to me. I had to run down to catch her and asked if she responding to a complaint and am I at fault? She said yes,she is responding to a call. I am not at fault and I legally did what I was supposed to do. Windows are down and I have a fan blowing. She said that it's mostly a wasted time calls but she had to come out. That's why she didn't give me a citations or come up to my van. Told me to ignored ppl and have my dogs walk away. As long as I have three dogs in the park then we are good. I thanked her and to that fat cow and her short stubby ape. YOU CAN SUCKED IT! By the way your dog ran up to drink my water three times. Talked about inhumane. Provide your dog with some water Hypocrite! Focus on your dog and then you can talk. The park is great but you will run into POS ppl like this here. What a wasted time!

I checked out Seal Point Park Fri 9/3/21 after eating lunch in San Mateo. It's a former landfill that they made into a park. There is 3 FREE parking lots, bathrooms at each end of parking lots. There is a Dog Park on the far right side. Just dirt, no grass or trees. There is a Wind Walk with some neat wind art and views of San Mateo Bridge. Can be windy over there, still warm though when I went. You can make the walk longer by walking along the Bay Trail towards Coyote Point or Foster City. Hrs: 6am-7:30pm

There was a lot of parking when we went on a Saturday afternoon. They had a few parking lots scattered in the area. There are a lot of picnic areas that you can reserve for the BBQ grills. There were plenty of bathrooms scattered throughout the picnic areas. The one I used was relatively clean and had plenty of toilet paper. They have a lot of trails here where you can bike or walk. You can watch the planes go in and out of the airport above you! There are also a lot of birds hanging out in and by water if you want to bird watch. I was hoping to catch some sea lions but I guess they weren't around. There is unfortunately a lot of powerlines in the area that would spoil an otherwise nice view but what can you do. I also saw there was a yacht club by the water! I saw you could rent the facilities for parties (not sure if you had to be a member or not).

My most favorite part of Coyote Point Recreation Area is the CuriOdyssey, which you can see my review for separately. Although this is a beach, it's unlike any beach that I've seen in SoCal, at least in my area. Pretty green, murky, and muddy, I wouldn't say it's the most ideal to go into, especially if you're not going to immediately shower afterwards. I don't think I saw people in the water either, even with it being June, but the breeze and cooler Bay Area weather kept everything nice and mild. Most people were flying kites or just going on walks. There are rentals for wind surfing and there were a couple people suited up for that. I heard there was a cosplay gathering here and it made many a cosplayer's outfit green though...There are playgrounds for the kids, a good amount of trees, a couple trails, a marina for the boats docked there, and some monthly/seasonal community events as well. I don't think I'd normally visit this area if it weren't for the CuriOdyssey, but it's not bad when I am there.
