We had analin windows installing we had an installer named Serge he was great he called us in the morning to say he wS on the way and ask us to clear the driveway for his truck. He arrive promptly came and greeted us.ooked at where he was going to be working we had already cleared everything for him so he was set, it took him 6 hours and he was every bit professional and courteous as can be he pick up as he went and vacuumed up his mess and clean up everything. 5 star company and 5 star employees. If you should be the recieptant to have the good fortune of having this young man install your windows you will be forever happy and beyond. I was initially skeptical about the new windows. I was told it could take up to 3 days for the installation. Well, I clearly had no reason to be concerned. Alex and his crew were fabulous. Not only are the windows more gorgeous than I had imagined but their the new siding and window borders are beautiful! Everything is perfect! My windows are extremely tall and I was nervous. I had no need to be. Alex and his crew finished the job in one day including the two coats of paint. I can't say enough about their work ethic and their workmanship! It's stellar! We didn't even make it through the so called sales pitch. CAT rep repeated several times that he was "educating" my wife and I. He claimed that his contractors are great and others are not. I told him I was not interested in his long involved biased view of every other contractor on the continent and that I wanted to talk HVAC as it pertained to my home. He refused and we parted company. I'm over 70 years old and had been in the trades for 40 yrs., general contractor for 20+ years. Sure didn't need this kid "educating" me. They have a very poor sales model from a customer's standpoint. As others here have stated, there was no doubt he was laying the ground work to convince us to pay an excessive amount for whatever work they did. I am leaving a one star review based on poor salesman attitude and the inability to switch gears. read more

TL;DR: there's a massive sales pitch but the cost was significantly more expensive than competitors I'm leaving a neutral 3-star review because they didn't actually do any work for me. I'm sure their quality of work is fine and didn't get the impression it would be of poor quality. I'm just giving a heads up to consumers about how CAT works and advise to get different opinions before signing on the dotted line. Salesperson came into my house and was very friendly. I briefly showed him the unit, he took a picture and then we went inside for his sales pitch. It's a long PowerPoint type presentation talking about how great the company and hvac unit is. From there comes the pricing and it's a lot of salesmanship about "one time only", "just for you", "you have to act now" talking points. After all the "discounts" were applied I was quoted $30,000 for a new HVAC unit and a new electrical panel. After some back and forth about how I need to look more into it and wanted to talk with my dad who knows more about this stuff I got the classic line, "is there anything I can do to lock you into this today?" That feels like it was asked because as soon as you research you'll realize the cost difference. I ended up getting the work done for the following: HVAC Unit for about $13.5k, electrical panel with a new car charger in the garage for about $4.5k. That's a difference of more than $10,000. They go through a sales pitch about why they are better than everyone else and they offer you a "discounted" rate if you post good reviews about them and let share sone before and after photos for advertisment. As soon as i explained i only wanted a quote and rhat i would be getting 2 other quotes before i decided on a purchase, they rush off to their last sale of the day to get rid of their last discount offer they have available in my area. They dont even try to give you rate that could be believable but people they may not know or who can easily be pushed into a decision are getting screwed to all hell. 32000 was the quote i gotvfor a 2200 sq ft home. read more

Just over a year after having CAT Exteriors replace our HVAC system the fan motor for our Daikin AC unit stopped working. Fan motors should last at least ten years. When our fan motor was replaced the service tech discovered that we had a faulty safety switch in the condensate overflow pan. Instead of turning off the AC unit when the pan fills up with water like it was designed to do, it turned the AC unit off when it got hot. CAT Exteriors chose this switch when deciding what system to install. It was a very cheaply built switch that turned off a very expensive system when it was most needed. Of course they are happy to replace the switch, a switch that should work for years, as long as we pay for the labor. As we had to pay for the labor to replace a faulty fan motor that should have lasted another ten years at least. The bottom line is that CAT Exteriors chose to cut corners and is making us pay for it. read more

I received a cold call from their marketing people and spoke to a woman with no manners. However, I was interested because they offered me "big discounts" on exterior paint in exchange for them being able to put an advertising sign in our yard for 30-90 days, take before and after pictures, and my giving them a five star review. So I was intrigued enough to schedule an initial meeting with their pitch person. Before the scheduled meeting I did my research to be prepared. I work as a developer and construction project manager, proper meeting preparation is important if you want to get things done. They seem to only use a product called Tex-Cote Coolwall, which is a IR reflective and insulating wall coating that goes for about $350/5gal bucket and covers anywhere from 175-225 square feet in a single coat application, to 350-450 square feet in a two coat application (aka double the single coat). With primer and everything it works out to a bit over $2 per square foot just for the paint... fine, I thought, let's see what kind of discount they offer me in exchange for advertising and reviews. Our meeting was scheduled for today (2/2/2023) at 6 PM. Their scheduling person called me twice in the two proceeding days to confirm the time and to be sure my wife was going to be there too because "we need both decision makers present" is what I was told. However, I never got to meet with them because the guy was over 30 minutes late. So, at that point, I put a sign on the door saying "No thank you! You were too late w/o a call or explanation. Better luck next time. PS don't call, we're done." What kind of company goes through all that only to no call no show at pitch time?! No company I would ever work with. You want my money, then do what you said you would do... on multiple occasions. Hope Cat Exteriors can get their crap together and, as I said before, better luck next time. read more

We're considering getting new windows for our whole house. This company called and I agreed to sit for a presentation. It was a sustained, high pressure sale because they want you to sign a contract same day. I signed but only because I would have 3 days by CA law to cancel. Well I shopped their bid with others in the trade and they were 2 to 2.5x times more expensive for comparable products. The company offered a good product, their staff were professional and on time but their prices are very high compared to others. Furthermore, the company seems to actively farm good reviews. We were offered discounts for good reviews and other stipulations.The salesman insisted we write a good review before he left. These practices are a bit sketch and means you should take what you see with a grain of salt. read more

Pushy and misleading sales team. Caught the staff lying multiple times throughout the pitch (providing false names and job titles). I had a sales rep come to my home and give me an outrageous quote for windows (nearly 37k for a 1700 sqft house). When I asked for the quote in writing so I could think about it, they refused. I told them that if they could not produce an actual estimate to review I am not comfortable doing business with them. They went on to call me at least 5 more times on my cell and my place of business to attempt another in home visit, asking questions about my work schedule and if I'd be home this weekend, all the while refusing to give me the details from the first visit. At this point I'm worried that a random person visited my house and checked every window and now knows when I'm home. Beware of this company! read more

We requested information about converting our gas heater to electric and AJ came by to speak to us. He seemed like a real cool guy at first. It took an hour for him to get to the price. After he gave us the quote of over 40K at the very end, we told him we would like to get more quotes before moving forward with a loan. And just like a light switch his whole demeanor changed, he got very defensive, started packing his bags and stated that we have to "chase him now." Even though he did it with a smile it felt very unprofessional. He didn't even go over finance options or anything. Definitely not chasing him and won't ever go with a business like this. The 40K was with the discounted price if we gave a same day google review, kept the price confidential, and placed a sign in our front yard for a month. read more

She was pleasant, but it was obvious that she either didn't know the answers or wasn't allowed to provide us with answers. She just wanted us to set an appointment. I mentioned that I wanted to have answers to our questions before we set an appointment, and she replied that she would have her boss call us. He called within minutes after hanging up. During our lengthy discussion the man would explain everything to us except for cost. I indicated that we weren't interested in seeing an appointment until we had some idea what it would be to replace the windows in or house. But first he explained that there several things we could do to reduce the costs of the install by giving good reviews on Yelp, BEFORE anything was installed, putting a sign promoting their company in our front lawn, and using their financing. We agreed to set an appointment. However, after reviewing all the negative reviews found on Yelp, we decided to cancel the appointment. They unsuccessfully tried to convince us to set up a new date despite me telling him we did not want to use them. That was last summer. We continued receiving multiple calls a week from them, stating each time that we were not interested, and to please stop calling us. The next call we received from them that same week, I stated that I was going to give them a negative review on Yelp is they didn't stop calling us. Their scheduler called us a day or after this last call to pass on a message from manager asking us not to post on Yelp and promised they would stop calling us. Fast forward to this week, they've already called us twice. We dealt with most of the men mentioned in these reviews. All were pushy salesmen. Contractor came said we can't do it that you wanted. He said we could it this way and that way etc.. Then builder came and and they built it different that we said either time ! We tried to call the salesmen multiple times no answer, now we are stuck paying for something we didn't approve! Loan did call and said they over us a 10% discount on the next job they did with us!! Our home had poor repairs to the stucco from about 2005 and damages from ivy that had climbed the exterior walls. The home was severely in need of repair and repainting. We were contacted by CAT EXTERIORS and arranged to have the home repaired and painted. The thing of great note was the extraordinary prep work that occured to address all the stucco problems and including the woodwork. They put on three coats of paint including the initial primer over the entire exterior. My husband and I have been wanting to replace our windows for some time. The beginning of August we got a cold call for CAT Exteriors. We decided to meet with them. The 1st guy that came out was AJ. He seemed real nice but part of the deal was, I had to write a review on him /company, and have it done before he left the house (I thought this was weird).. The 2nd guy that came out was Carl G to write the contract. He seemed nice and honest. I told him that I was picky, and if he was having the work done on his house which crew would he chose. He told me "There is only one crew to install windows, so there was no choosing." There was no phone call to confirm they were coming, and they were here 2.5 hours earlier than had been scheduled. They started right away on the big kitchen window. I noticed that they were hit and miss on the foam insulation that they spray in between the window and studs. I mentioned to them the worker there were large gaps with no foam. That they needed to fill it all over. I don't know the guy's name, so I'll call him the finisher. He filled in one spot and moved on. Oh, and no one spoke English. Later I noticed him calking over a dirty area where he splashed goof off, so there was like mud puddles. I showed him that you can't put caulking over dirty areas it won't work. He fixed part of it, and I started to mention something else, and he took off leaving the work on the window unfinished and the window opened. He proceeded to work on another window and didn't come back to the kitchen until they were ready to leave. I also noticed that another slender young man was hit and miss on the foam. I mentioned it to him, and he looked over at the "finisher". The finisher came over and said, "It doesn't matter if there is foam because there is silicone on the outside". Suddenly, he can speak English. I said, "If it doesn't matter why are you putting foam in the first place". He turned around and walked off. By this time, I'm upset. I went and made a phone call to have a manager call me. 1st phone call Matt wanted to know if the crew spoke Spanish or Russian (this means CARL G. was not telling the truth, there is more than one crew). 2nd phone call, Matt called and told me he talked to his men and that don't worry about the foam it can expand up to a day of two, and if they put too much it could cause the window frame to bend. I mentioned to Matt that the foam will not cover when there is no foam with 4 to 8 inches large gaps. He told me a manger will call; within a half hour another manager called his name is Alex he was also the guy that did measurements for the windows. He was very reassuring on the phone, and he said he would be out tomorrow and open the windows up to see what they did. I was very upset and really didn't want to deal with anyone, but I trusted him from the conversation with him. Alex got here and he wanted to check out their work... Alex proceeds to open the work as promised... He gets one piece of molding pulled back about 20 to 24 inches if that. Alex turns and looks at me and says, "there is foam throughout". Alex DID NOT do as promised. I'm furious with the whole company. Just come back in and repair your messes please! The window are pretty, and I will let you know how the rest goes. Victor and he's Son came out and remove the trim off of one window...Looks like they had fixed it before sealing the window. Victor also removed the bottom strip off of another window...most of that one was filled. They fixed and completed the job and I wished Victor and his son had done all the work. read more

If I could give a 1/2 star or zero, I would. CAT Exteriors is predatory, and has taken advantage of my mother-in-law who is on several medications, and needs around the clock care. Admittedly, she called after seeing an ad, and the salesmen showed up unannounced at her front door last week. My husband found them sitting outside the home for over three hours waiting for her. He explained to the workers that she was in no condition to understand this purchase which entailed placing a lean on her home with a 15k loan (for 15 years at $150/month) for TWO windows! The workers seemed to understand, apologized, and left. However, this morning, I was shocked to hear that they had sent staff to measure regardless. I will be reporting this company to Adult Protective Services (APS) and the California Department of Consumer Affairs in hopes that this will protect older adults from financial exploitation. read more

The Rep came at the scheduled time, took his time to explain the process and yes we did get a significant discount for a sign in a yard for 90 days. The work has not started as of this day but the CAT EXTERIOR inspector came to our home and allowed us to keep the color palette for more days so we could decide on the right color of our house. What was impressive about the company, friendly sales and marketing rep, and the inspector was friendly as well. We will see how their work is when they get started. We had multiple bids on our house of $8000 but the company would charge extra to fix damages in the stucco and wood trimming and would not guarantee for a lifetime. read more

We got a sales call from CAT regarding upgrading our roof and windows. Got a visit from AJ. He seemed like a nice guy. Very personable. However, he told me at first he would only take 15 min. Then he proceeded to try to convince me in the first 15 min. that I should upgrade my Air Conditioner. I told him I had no interest in that, just the roof and windows. I also told him I'm a bottom line guy, and it's about the numbers. He gives another 15 minutes' worth of window demonstration, which I didn't care about. I finally had to tell him that I wanted the numbers, but also, I wouldn't commit to anything today. That's when he packed up and left. No measurement, no estimate, nothing. 30 minutes of my life that I won't get back. Time wasted. read more

I reached out interested in windows but came to the conclusion it wasn't worth the price, and I would have my construction family members help me replace my windows. I have allowed them 2 home visits to try to sell the product to me before making the decision. Carl is the sweetest guy and very understanding. I told him I was going with family, and he understood. Ever since, I have received a call every few weeks/monthly. I tell them every time to take me off their call list to no avail. I got another call today from some new guy who didn't take "take me off your call list" as an answer. He proceeded to ask me if it was because I couldn't afford it and try to convince me to stay on the line. I hung up and called them directly to take me off the call list. Now it's 7 months later and they are calling me to follow up on their bid. Seven months! Pretty lousy way to try to sell anything. I highly recommend Cat exteriors to replace your windows. The sales guy that came out Jason Williams was great and very knowledgeable. He was on time, and understood what I wanted and needed. The team that came out to install the windows, one named Eli. Were very quick and got the job done in a timely manner. They even made sure that everything was cleaned up after. He made sure the windows open and close nicely and everything was working properly. We've have some cold nights lately and without these windows my house would have been freezing. Avoid. This is a predatory company. After sitting through a 15-20 minute manipulative and misleading spiel about how amazing the company is we were then pressured into signing a contract the same day that required us to agree to 4 odd stipulations, like price confidentiality and a mandatory Google review of the company, before the salesman would even give us the actual quote. We were also pressured into financing the job despite explicitly telling the salesman we wanted to pay cash. After I told the salesman I don't make same day, emotional decisions and that I like to get multiple quotes he became visibly annoyed and tried to make us feel like we were idiots for not taking such a great deal. Mind you the "quote" he gave us was outrageous and he wouldn't tell us what the actual cost would have been because we didn't agree to his stipulations. It was all very shady and snake oil salesman-esque. Based on my experience, I wouldn't trust any of their reviews since they basically pay their customers to write them good ones. read more
