I had one tree I asked him about on my property, and he told me if it fell, it would fall there, and he pointed. Two years later it fell exactly where he told me it would fall! We discussed the job and him using his wood chipper to fill in an old in-ground trampoline pit I was removing/ restoring back to original landscape. He suggested he inflate the estimate to be given for reimbursing and I declined a little warily. My IHSS worker was present, also a female (I'm disabled and hearing impaired). Michael then took a strange turn in conversation talking in detail about his fondness and frequent patronizing of the sex shop "good relations". My IHSS worker and I awkwardly humored his inappropriate dialogue, I did not quite know how to respond. We agreed on a time and day and he then said he had to go get a massage. Okay... So the day rolls around and he has some delays but I'm a pretty agreeable person and was willing to accommodate. He unfortunately didn't wait for me to return from picking up my daughter and was was finished during a quick trip, about 40 minutes. He was no where to be found when I rushed back home, but what I did find was a big pile of wood chips in the yard near the entrance to my guest airbnb, no where near the pit we had discussed him depositing it in. He left me with a whole new complicated problem. When I pressed him about rectifying this new problem, he told me he wasn't going to charge me because, "I wasn't happy". Strange business dealings all around. I would definitely not recommend or hire this person again. Especially if you are a single woman. Disabled mother or not. Social media is quite revealing behind the veneer.

Three of the branches were the size of trees growing from the trunk. It was a huge liability and stressed me. I had called several tree companies. Most walked away and wouldn't even give me a quote because it was too dangerous and there was no good access to the back yard. One company quoted me $50,000 to trim some branches and another $25,000 to trim 12 branches, but they wouldn't clean up the branches. Bones gave me a very reasonable quote and understood the tree really needed to be removed. He told me they would see how it went and do as much as they could to help me. In 4 days they had the tree cut down. The whole crew were amazing, professional, friendly, trustworthy and cleaned up very well. I highly recommend them for your tree service. They are the best!!!! We are building a fence and on a tight schedule. In order to prep we had to take out a massive…read morehedge. Hiding in the hedge were pipes and wires and a giant fallen log with huge roots. We couldn't move ahead with that tree there unless we rerouted the fence. We talked about trying to chainsaw it up and move the pieces but it was intimidating to us amateurs because of its size and shape. A family member suggested a tree company but warned they were pretty busy this time of year and it would be spendy. The day we uncovered the tree I stayed up really late thinking about what to do. I hated delaying the fence project or having to relocate it. So I started researching Humboldt tree companies and noticed that Coastal Tree Service had very good reviews and lots of them. The next morning (Friday) I called first thing and Tommy called me back a few hours later. I emailed him some images which he reviewed while we were talking, and offered to come out that same day to take a look. In person Tommy was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly experienced. He took a look at the log/stump and explained how he would handle it (fallen log to person nearby who would use it for firewood + chipper for the rootball). I told him what I was willing to pay and he agreed he could manage that, and agreed to come out Tuesday. I could hardly believe he could do the job for a reasonable price and within just a few days. It looked like I'd be able to salvage my fence project. Tuesday rolled around and Tommy fit me in at the end of what was a very long day for him. I had to run an errand and when I returned Tommy had chipped the whole log and the root. He explained the log had been rotten so was useless as firewood. Also, as a bonus, he chipped the roots of the hedge we'd taken down. This was great because it created a plethora of wood chips to help level the uneven ground, and saved me from digging out what were essentially tree roots from where the hedge was. I feel like I got really lucky with Coastal Tree and Tommy. Great company, outstanding customer service, and Tommy is a heckuva nice guy, too. I cannot recommend this business enough.
