Michael did a great job. It was amazing to watch him climb the trees. After three days of trimming there was not a twig left on the ground.

Michael trimmed my trees years ago and did a good job at a reasonable rate. This time when I called for his services recently, my neighbor had felled some tree limbs into my yard damaging my fence and leaving a mess for me to deal with. We discussed the job and him using his wood chipper to fill in an old in-ground trampoline pit I was removing/ restoring back to original landscape. He suggested he inflate the estimate to be given for reimbursing and I declined a little warily. My IHSS worker was present, also a female (I'm disabled and hearing impaired). Michael then took a strange turn in conversation talking in detail about his fondness and frequent patronizing of the sex shop "good relations". My IHSS worker and I awkwardly humored his inappropriate dialogue, I did not quite know how to respond. We agreed on a time and day and he then said he had to go get a massage. Okay... So the day rolls around and he has some delays but I'm a pretty agreeable person and was willing to accommodate. He unfortunately didn't wait for me to return from picking up my daughter and was was finished during a quick trip, about 40 minutes. He was no where to be found when I rushed back home, but what I did find was a big pile of wood chips in the yard near the entrance to my guest airbnb, no where near the pit we had discussed him depositing it in. He left me with a whole new complicated problem. When I pressed him about rectifying this new problem, he told me he wasn't going to charge me because, "I wasn't happy". Strange business dealings all around. I would definitely not recommend or hire this person again. Especially if you are a single woman. Disabled mother or not. I called a different local business to trim a large Maple tree in our front yard because of some good reviews I read here on Yelp. Happily, they never called me back, because I never would have discovered, "That Tree Guy!" This man is awesome! He understands tree growth and how to trim and fell them safely and quickly. He communicates effectively with his crew on the ground and they were quick to react to his direction. All of them worked well together and did a fantastic job. I was very impressed. I have been so worried about the big limbs growing over the roof of the house. I was also very upset that the other tree service didn't ever call me back even though I agreed to his terms. I didn't think anyone was going to want to help us get the work done. That Tree Guy saved the day! Thank you and best of luck in the future, Mr. Tree Guy! read more

I moved into my house in Eureka 8 years ago and have never had any work done on the trees in or hedges my back yard. When Michael from "That Tree Guy" showed up I was immediately impressed by his knowledge of the trees in my yard. First thing he told me was that I had a broken branch on a tree in my front yard that I had not even noticed. After walking the property, he told me he and his crew could have the work I wanted accomplished in 2 days. They showed up on time and I couldn't be more pleased with the work they did. Michael pointed out a tree that was leaning dangerously towards my neighbor's house and deck. His crew took the tree down with great precision to not cause any damage. My hedges were probably 30 feet tall and all the privacy was up in the leaves. He cut these down to they can grow new leaves to provide better privacy. I was very happy with the work provided and Michael and his crew will be my tree guys for a next round of work. This guy is amazing. He works fast, has reasonable rates, and watching him do his craft is a show... He came to our house for an emergency. A big tree was threatening to fall onto neighbor's house during a windstorm. I still can't believe what I witnessed as I watched him put on all his safety gear, climb that tree like a 15 year old, and carefully fall all the large limbs and piece by piece the trunk and do it so the pieces fell just in the right places to avoid damaging our fence and the neighbor's shed/house. Such a nice guy. He came on a weekend because I had a widowmaker limb about 75-80 feet high and I was afraid to let my granddaughter outside. Not to mention worry about my roof or my shade structure. I will definitely call him first if I ever need tree work. Highly recommend. read more

We were thrilled with Michael's work. Our neighbor's tree fell on 2 of our vehicles. We looked on Yelp and found "That Tree Guy." This happened during the night and we discovered it at 5:30 am. We called at 5:45 am and Michael was here by 6, chainsaw in hand and lights on his truck that showed the damage the tree had done. He proceeded to get the very large and heavy tree off of our vehicles in record time. He also came back a little later and he and one of his employees cleaned up the entire mess of branches, pieces of trunk and those awful pine needles! Though we wanted more pruning for one tree, he declined. Compared to other pruning that has been done since, very poor work. Sad.
