My wife and I were looking for a different contractor to stain our shakes and touch-up trim paint on our house this summer. Our previous painter did good work but was uncommunicative and did not listen to what kind of stain to apply. We got a good job with a stain we didn't like. We wanted to go with someone else this time around.
There isn't a lot readily available information on painting contractors in this town, and we didn't have any persuasive recommendations from friends to help us out. We had to basically interpret what we read on the websites of local painting contractors.
CDH seemed to have what we were looking for. An established business, family owned, good references. Not too large for residential jobs to not get the same attention as larger commercial jobs. Follow-up phone calls sealed the deal.
The company delivered. We got good feedback on the stain we purchased. They stuck to the schedule we set, showed up on time, were quiet, efficient, and proficient. The crew leader, Art, was friendly, solicitous and answered our questions. We were generally very pleased with their work and will recommend them to friends and family.
I think we we were charged a fair price considering the attention and time we got, and quality of workmanship.
Our complaints are minor and not worth mentioning, though they did make a difference between giving them four stars instead of five. If we could have given them four and a half stars, we would have done that, since that would be a more accurate rating.
