Yay my parachute opened!!!

If you're thinking about skydiving, go to Bay Area Skydiving -- seriously, just do it!!! My instructor Toshi was awesome. Super knowledgeable and made me feel totally comfortable from the second I put on the harness, got on the plane, jumped out, floated through the sky, and landed. He gave super clear instructions and kept everything chill. The whole crew was great, and my videographer JB got some amazing shots! Go have fun!! Seeing the world from up there is unreal -- totally life-changing.

Would highly recommend Bay Area Skydiving !!!! Spontaneously decide to go for my Birthday, after some research I saw they had high reviews on Google and Yelp. Also they had great package pricing. If you're thinking about jumping, stop thinking and book it on their website (highly recommend the full video package). My instructor Toshi was extremely experienced and did a great job explaining the progress before going up and while jumping. In addition, the owner Shaun and another jumper Phoenix went with us. They were both very engaging during the jump and made the whole experience even that much better. Definitely going back soon !!!! (Your 2nd jump within 30 days gets a discount)

Pros: Great FUN jump at 13k ft!! Super safe, friendly, knowledgeable staff!! Shout out to Capt Kirk, Taylor, and Dennis for all the awesome video/pics, high-fives and laughs!! Cons: Poor time management and Poor customer service. We showed up on time (with all of our online paperwork completed) only to wait for 1.5 hours before being suited up and educated. We felt out of place and shuffled around because there was no point person for our experience. This wasn't my first time skydiving and I still remember how personable and organized it all was when I jumped in Florida in 2006. I assumed it would be at least that if not better customer service in 2023. It's too bad really, because customer service is the easy part of what Bay Area Skydiving offers.

I've been wanting to skydive for the longest but, always felt a bit of fear! For my 33 birthday thats what i wanted to do!!! As soon as I arrive to the office all the staff was super friendly and helpful. I was still nervous... as soon as my instructor came over and introduced himself I felt a huge relief... I had read many great reviews about "Toshi" my instructor so I was really hoping I would get to fly with him!! Toshi checked my gear a couple times, explained the process and make sure I understood. Amazing experience already and I'm not yet in the sky!! My camera guy Dennis was also great!! He also explained to me every Possible picture he wanted to take in the air. Once we were in the air it was INCREDIBLE there's no time for fear!! Toshi kept reassuring me I was going to love it. Everything happened so quick that I need to do it again!! I wouldn't go anywhere else to skydive!! I would return to Bay Area skydive and I wouldn't mind any other instructors they were all amazing and professionals!!!

The best skydiving experience so far, friendly staff, Toshi very experienced and skilled instructor, he made me super comfortable, assured me that it's going to be super fun and exciting experience, he is amazing. Thumbs up also to my camera guy. I took the ultimate video package and its totally worth it, I almost got 1K views of my FB account in less than 24 hours. Thank you Bay area skydiving. I can't wait to go back for my 15,000 feet skydive soon wohoo! you guys are awesome!

By far the best experience I've had in a long time! The staff was amazing! They followed COVID pre cautions and still made it such an enjoyable experience. I will definitely be learning to jump Solo! I highly recommend!!! Also.. if it's your first jump, be sure to get the video package!!! It's worth it!!!

All I can say is WOW! My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was such a blast! It was our first time so we splurged a bit and got the 13k ft fall and video package! Our instructors Bruce and Matt were amazing and made us feel very comfortable for the entire process. Shout out to our awesome videographers as well for the footage! Would 100% skydive again; thanks for the memories Bay Area Skydiving!!! :-)

Ask the Community - Bay Area Skydiving

Is there any place for family who isn't jumping to wait or watch? Thanks!

Yes we have plenty of spectator space your family will have a great time watching you as well as many other skydivers land

Do they have any female instructors? I've heard the guys are super friendly and nice but I'd just be more comfortable with a female.

I understand the concern. I felt the same way coming in, but after jumping with Adam I wouldn't mind jumping with him again. He was awesome and comforting. He is also the Safety Instructor so that helps. ?

I know this might be a 1 time malfunction but I felt like 120$ for video and photos were not worth for what I got.

There were 2 other attendees other than my boyfriend and myself, so our class was a total of 4 people, all of us beginners. One person had taken classes before, but was doing more lessons in order to get his hang 1 license. Mike starts the class by introducing himself and teaching us some safety lessons. We put together the hang glide together as a group, and he teaches us the different parts of the hang glide and how they work together. Then, we roll the glider up a small hill and he gives us some pointers on how to approach the lesson and what to do what we start running and once the glider starts taking off! The lesson was from about 8am to noon. Mike REALLY works for the money he makes during these lessons - he is running up and down the hill, and coordinating to make sure that everyone gets plenty of time on the hang glide. His passion for this sport is palpable, and it's clear he is friends with all the other folks at the area / park that morning who are regular hang gliders. This is a really fun activity to do on a weekend morning, not to mention the VIEWS are amazing. Attaching some photos as proof! Overall I had a GREAT time and would certainly consider taking more classes with Mike!

The instructors are top-notch -- highly skilled, professional, and genuinely invested in their students' success. The scheduling system is flexible and easy to use, which made it simple to plan lessons around a busy schedule. I have a full-time job with limited availability during the day, yet I could usually find a plane as early as the next day or the one after. Airplane availability has been excellent, allowing for consistent progress without delays. Throughout the process, I felt fully supported -- especially when navigating FAA paperwork, regulations, and other requirements that can be overwhelming for new pilots. I want to give a special shoutout to my instructor, Michael Hull, who has been exceptional. He's not only a fantastic teacher with deep aviation knowledge, but also a truly kind and encouraging person. He builds my confidence for the check ride in every lesson, and his clear, structured approach to both flight maneuvers and ground topics makes even the most complex areas easy to understand. Thank you, Michael!

Can finally check off skydiving from my bucket list!…read more My friends and I came here twice but were only able to skydive once. The first time we came was when there was a fire incident (not their fault), causing the airport to be shutdown. Thankfully, we were able to jump the second time we came. Upon arriving, you are required to fill out a waiver and watch a video about safety and onboarding. If you are over 200 lbs, be prepared to pay $1 per lb. The first time we came, the person helping us said that we could decide to purchase the photos/videos after recording them, since we were unsure whether we wanted them. The second time we came, they didn't allow us to do that and made us pay upfront. When we came to skydive, they were quite behind schedule. Our reservation was at 12 pm, but we didn't start until 1 pm. They can only bring up 2 people at a time due to the size of the plane, so if you're coming with a large group, expect to go in pairs. Each pair took around 30-45 minutes; we finished all our jumps around 2:45 pm. The skydiving experience itself was AMAZING! My instructor was Gus, who was super chill and explained to me all the instructions. I loved his enthusiasm and he made me feel so calm yet excited to jump. Greg is the other instructor, and he is also very detailed in his explanations. The plane ride up was smooth, although it's a bit tight and there are no seats. You get a nice view of the city and north bay once you're up in the air. You climb up to around 9000 in altitude, before the first person goes in their tandem skydive. At the end of your skydive, you get a certificate. If you want to get a skydiving license, you have to dive 25 times, and this counts as one of the dives. If this is your first time skydiving, I'd encourage you to get the video/photos to look back on. The whole thing goes by so fast. The video was a bit cringe to film and watch back, but I don't have any regrets getting it. It is $100 if you want either video or photos or $140 for both. The photos are just stills from the video, so it's bit pricey to pay an extra $40 on top for both. Overall, I had a fun time skydiving with Skydive Golden Gate. The instructors and staff were great, and the whole experience was thrilling and certainly gave me an adrenaline rush. The main downsides were the delays in schedule and the pricing for photos/videos. That being said though, I would still come back here and jump again!

The previous day I received a text at 5pm telling me my dive is going to be rescheduled from 10am to 11:30am due to weather (which when I checked was going to be foggy all day as well so I felt like there would've been a strong possibility of them rescheduling on me again). I replied stating I will not be able to make it, they've notified me too late as well (not even a full days notice) & asked if there was another Friday I can reschedule to. I mentioned my boyfriend's elder family member has been experiencing serious life threatening medical issues and that we won't be able to make it any time soon. I asked to reschedule to a later Friday and they requested a doctors note for proof or they'd keep my $100 deposit as a "no show fee" (which is a lot for me as a broke college student). I had mentioned I am not comfortable asking for a doctors note due to the severity of the situation, my boyfriend & many of his family ended up getting weeks off work, that's how severe the situation was. In the end I GOT GHOSTED!!! A front desk person stated management would get back to me--They haven't replied to my text or email which was sent 5/1!!! Very disappointing situation & very disappointing the way they operate business! I was really looking forward to this experience, all I wanted to do was to reschedule the skydive!
