We got to the ranch and there was plenty of parking. We walked to the back and were able to pet some horses. The horses were very well behaved and even posed pictures. We were able to brush a horse. My kids and husband really enjoyed it. I loved how patient Brittany was. She explained a lot about horses very educational for kids and adults. We went into an area that was enclosed. That made me feel more comfortable. My teenager and my 3 year old loved this. It is very hard to find activities both my kids enjoy. My two little girls got to write Santa a letter. The time with Santa was also great. They were able to ask him questions and talk to him etc. They also got to meet Anna and elsa, ask them questions and take pictures with them. It is wise to step outside your environment and, in the case of this current venture, go visit an Alpaca farm. The Menagerie Hill ranch has beautiful animals. The host was awesome and knowledgeable. We increased our knowledge of the animals and of the farm but also got to feed them. We also had the opportunities to get close and personal with them for pictures. They were all friendly and fluffy. I recommend this unique experience for all because if you do not just break your usual pattern to stop and smell the roses or to pet and feed an Alpaca, life will pass by before you know it. It's a beautiful space on a hillside and you can see the herd and their guardian llama as you pull into the parking lot. We learned a lot about the alpaca life cycle, fed the boys, and my daughter got to hold and carry a cria. We bought two cute alpaca shaped soaps. I didn't experience any of the negativity others have complained about. It is a working ranch so it's not a petting zoo or a tourist attraction. Go with the flow and you'll have a great experience.

The staff was absolutely wonderful with the children. They were patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the rabbits they care for. The owner (or person who works there ) was drunk, smelled like alcohol (mind you it was around noon mid week) and did not seem to care one bit on giving much attention to his plants(not to mention costumers). His radio was full on volume when I tried to ask something. The 1 star it less for this person's lack of service manners. It is for the very neglected, poor way they kept their plants on. Most plants on display seem to be super dry, shrunk and sad. It looks like maybe this place used to be a beautiful, when someone cared for it. Probably supporting native plants at one point, but now is it so run down, more like a dumpster (with some nice chicken to break the monogamy of yellow/brown dying plants). Too bad, as this place was highly recommended by the California native plant society, they sure need to update the records.
