My husband…read moreand I realized we needed a day-of coordinator as it got closer to our special day and we found Shana. From our first phone contact to the end of our reception and everything in between, Shana was great to work with. She's experienced, professional, and very easy to talk to! I appreciate her taking the time to travel out of town to visit our venue with us and go over our plan. Having planned my own wedding, Shana stepped in to ask about things that I hadn't thought of and I'm so thankful! She guided us by preparing and organizing our thoughts beforehand which was extremely helpful in giving us a better idea of what our special day would look like. On the day of the wedding, Shana was there to execute the plan and to have everything go smoothly. I even had family members tell me that they liked how she had the answers to everything! Shana, thank you so much for all that you've done. We were so happy to have you be a part of our day!

Hiring Shana was one of the biggest blessings of our entire wedding journey. From our first…read moreconsultation call, she stood out. She was warm, modern, and in tune with we cared about, yet carried herself with a professionalism and clarity that made us feel confident. She had a clear plan and process, and we knew we'd be in good hands. We brought Shana in after we had already started planning, and she jumped in seamlessly. She helped with vendor procurement, ongoing planning, facilitated the rehearsal, and acted as our full day-of coordinator. Throughout the entire process, I had lots of questions - big, small, aesthetic-related, and everything in between. She handled my constant stream of thoughts and clarifications with grace. What impressed us was her ability to keep us on track while also lightening our emotional load. She stepped in as a mediator with vendors, friends, and family when needed - removing stress and giving us space to breathe. As we got closer to the wedding date, our meetings with her became an essential part of my sanity. I always entered the calls stressed or overwhelmed and left feeling grounded and supported. Shana was amazing at brainstorming solutions, pivoting when something changed, and offering ideas and perspectives we hadn't thought of. She was calm, confident, resourceful, and a reliable sounding board. During the rehearsal and on the wedding day itself, she was dialed in. She picked up on my stress before I even said anything and took on the weight so I didn't have to. One example: she would check in with us from time to time, but if we were chatting with guests or another vendor, she intentionally waited off to the side (but in our peripheral) so we knew she had something important to inform us about but without intruding on our moment. Ironically, I was surprised how little I saw her on our wedding day - it wasn't because she wasn't present, but because she was everywhere, quietly handling every detail behind the scenes. She and her team ensured the day ran without a hitch (or at least kept anything stressful far away). Everything felt seamless from my perspective, and that is entirely thanks to her and her team. If you're considering hiring Shana, do it. She is professional, creative, reassuring, patient, and genuinely invested in making your day perfect. She allowed us to fully enjoy the entire process, and we'll forever be grateful.

I cannot say enough good things about Janelle & the Visionary team. I don't think I could've gotten…read morethrough this wedding without them. Janelle was supposed to be purely my day of coordinator but she went above and beyond to support all the pivots of the pandemic. She was amazing with corralling my vendors and myself (since I was starting a new job and honestly did not do everything I needed to). Once the COVID shutdown happened, she quickly pivoted with me to plan a backyard wedding ceremony in less than a month. And boy did she pull it off! With her on your wedding day, there is not a single thing to worry about. She will bring your visions to life AND THEN SOME. She worked with me on my backyard wedding ceremony in August 2020 and grand wedding reception at the Academy of Sciences in August 2021 taking every curveball the pandemic has thrown our way without batting a lash. She even brought my leftover liquor and items back to our hotel so we could continue the party all while being barely 3 months postpartum! I can tell you that Janelle will be my go to for every major event from now on. You will kick yourself for not hiring her for your events.

Where do I start? Welp, 5 stars is for sure NOT enough for this review!!…read more x100000000 I first reached out to Janelle - Visionary Events and Designs back in Oct 2017 while planning our civil wedding ceremony/celebration. My fiancé (at that time) and I weren't ready for a MEX-FIL grand wedding but still wanted to have a small gathering to celebrate our union. We met that Nov at starbucks Sunvalley Mall, and I knew right away that she was the perfect person for us. Me and Omar did get married on May 2018 thru the courthouse and fast forward to early March of 2019, we decided to actually plan for our big wedding which was set on June 6, 2020. Throughout the planning process, we met Danny (Janelle's husband and also part of Visionary Events and Designs team) they are both super talented and supeeeer nice and we just all get along very well, which made this whole wedding journey soooo much better! From creating our vision boards to our meetings which I alwayssss look forward to, Janelle & Danny made sure me and Omar (the groom-zilla) compromise in every decision we make. They are very neutral, explained pros and cons of every lil detail, mind you, there are details that we won't even probably think of until it was all laid down to us. The amount of details from planning a wedding is unbelievable. Which is why we appreciate them a loooot, like A LOT. Unfortunately, COVID hit and we had to postpone our wedding...... not only once but 3X!!! TBH, I seriously do not know what I'd do without Janelle during this time. The mixed of emotions from postponing to the stress of how things are uncertain. She took care of contacting each vendors and moving dates, made sure everything lined up. We did lost some vendors and she did looked for replacements right away, we trusted her 100000%. Our patience was tested and we are just super lucky we have Janelle to put things into the right place!!! Literally the amount of work she puts in behind every event are underestimated unless you actually experience first hand and see all the effort she does! Visionary Events and Designs stood by us from start to finish! ooof! (thankful, grateful, blessed 1000%) Fast forward to Oct 2, 2021, with sooo much anticipation and years in the making LOL, our dream wedding finally came true! All the hardwork and patience was definitely worth the wait!!!! I saw the venue layout through a pdf document, and bam! when I saw it in person I was speechless! It took me some time actually process everything as it just feels soooo surreal! Danny and Janelle made sure we had the most perfect and epic wedding PERIOD! I know there were challenges during the day of, but we honestly have no idea of anything. Which clearly explains that they solved whatever it was/it may be without taking us away from our special moment. I know we wouldn't be able to do it by ourselves, and we truly appreciate eeverrrrrrrryyything Visionary Events and Designs did to make it all possible! They are indeed THE DREAM TEAM. and we're lucky to call them OUR DREAM TEAM. Danny and Janelle isn't just our wedding planners, throughout the wedding planning journey, they've become family. We witnessed their amazing wedding in 2017 (thru social media LOL -we barely met) to actually celebrating their own milestone (Janelle's Baby Shower) and welcoming Baby Colton! We are soo blessed to be a part of their own journey as much as they've become part of ours as well. And we truly value their presence in our lives! We couldn't thank them enough as there's no words that can equal the amount of gratitude we feel for the both of them and Visionary Events and Designs. No 5 stars will be enough to rate everything that they have to offer! PERIOOODT. Highly recommend 10000/10000 to hire them as your next event planner/coordinator!!! Lastly, to Janelle and Danny, Visionary Events and Designs, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! We will forever cherish our friendship! The Romeros

She'll sell you a dream, call it "Luxe", charge a premium and deliver cheap, tacky, DIY decor and she'll change it without asking. Her contract protects her from any accountability. Not satisfied? Take it up with the vendor, who you have zero contact with during any planning or ordering. She'll offer credit for future services! Because that's what you want from a person who didn't fulfill their end of the contract, right? I checked her Instagram, I loved everything I saw. She has beautiful dessert displays, that are themed with color, decor, florals. A variety of pastries and candies. And she claims to have 10yrs of experience creating dessert displays. Expectations were high. She claimed to work with local bakeries to build these displays. Guess Walmart is considered a local bakery, right? What we got was a rushed, sloppy display of cookies and mini cupcakes in various shades of brown. All piled onto wood crates. Nothing that showed she had experience. Nothing like what she has posted on her Instagram. She sure didn't post our dessert display. One thing I asked before anything, because I noticed that a lot of her events are bridal, wedding-centric. I asked if she was able to do the complete opposite end of the spectrum. We asked for full on color-drenched Purple! Red accents and gold for sparkle. Asked for floor to ceiling purple drapes. We were going for WOW! Venue is 21,000+ sq ft warehouse. We want to make it feel like we are not in a warehouse. She's got 15 years in the business, she should have a network of vendors to assist her. But she said she'd have to special order them.. it took me 15 minutes to find a local vendor with purple drapes to cover the venue. No need to special order. Instead, Lina waited 2 days before to tell us that her special order was "short". Short to me is 40%-50% of the total. She and her team decided for us to just use white drapes. About 10% of the drapes were purple. She did offer a $3,000 credit though! We paid $6,500 for draping alone. She claims it took her team 3 days to install them. Yet I was there when they came to hang them. It took roughly 4 hrs. We paid for fresh floral centerpieces. She created a "floral recipe" even. I thought wow that's impressive. I like attention to detail. Again, Purple should be the main color, Purple hydrangeas, purple stock, w/ red roses, minimal greenery in a glass vase, which we also paid for. We wanted guests to have a nice arrangement to take home. 128 to be exact. We got less than 40 large centerpieces w/ mostly white, filler flowers, lots of greenery and carnations, all on a plastic plate. these made them feel cheap and not worth the price we paid. The night before, I saw two crates of assorted bud vases and bunches of fresh flowers. I knew then that she had cheapened out on the flowers and was going to throw those together the next morning. I was right. Her and/or her staff, threw a bunch of flowers in bud vases attempting to fill the gaps where larger arrangements should have been. I could have done that myself! A common thread in the stories I've now read about Lina is she stops communicating with her clients, after going through texts and emails I'm reminded that she did ghost us for a bit. I didn't pay it much mind because we had communicated our needs very clearly. But also the week leading up to the party she would not talk to me directly. Her whole model is that she's there to help you every step of the way and she's "a shoulder to lean on" When I needed her the most she would not even text me back. We asked for food vendor quotes. We never got any. We ended up getting our own caterer. We asked her to help get a mariachi, but she lagged so we found one ourselves. We asked her to get us two photographers and a videographer, she waited until two days before to say she knows a guy. By that point we were not comfortable giving her anymore money. Contractually did she do the bare minimum. Yeah. Did I thank her for what she did, yes. Because I was raised right. I wasn't going to point out everything that was wrong, that she didn't fulfill. The event was over, what was she going to do? Offer another credit? Apologize? I was just glad the day was over. She got lots of compliments and kudos from guests because they did not know what I know. That it was supposed to be much more than just nice. It was not $24,000 worth of nice. I have done events on a smaller budget and had it look way better. But be the judge for yourself. I'll show you what we paid for vs. what we got..
