My wife and I were in the process of moving and stopped in while trying to choose carpet for a house that we were selling in another state. Knowing this, the folks there still took time to make sure we understood what we were doing, what we were working with and provided us a good amount of information on what we should look for / what to do with getting new carpeting. We dealt with Andy, the owner of the business, on a deal to acquire some heavy equipment he was…read moreselling, an old loader that he wasn't using any longer. We communicated with him for a couple of weeks, test driving the machine, inspecting it closely, and asking a lot of questions about it. It had a lot of miles/hours on it, but we decided to purchase it fully aware and understanding the issues with it (leaky diesel tank, leaking air from the tires, yet the transmission was good). He was firm on his price, we felt he was being fair, and he spent a lot of time with us during the process. On the day the check we wrote to him was approved by his bank, he had us come by to pick up the loader to take it home. Andy assured us that the batteries in the unit were good. Trusting his communication, we drove it off his property over 1 mile away to meet the flatbed truck delivering the loader to our Milwaukee address, and when we arrived at the meeting point, we shut the loader off awaiting the driver's arrival. When the driver arrived, we proceeded to try and start the loader to drive it on the flatbed, but it would not start. After trying lots of different tricks, we couldn't get it started, and finally decided to drive a few miles to a farm supply store to purchase some batteries, which once installed, allowed the loader to fire right up! The batteries cost us an extra $275 + $150 for the driver's time just to get it home. When we followed up with Andy via his cell phone leaving him 3 messages over the course of the week that followed, he would NOT return our phone calls. Before he had our check for the loader, he was VERY responsive. But upon calling to ask him about the batteries and the additional $$$ he cost us, he wouldn't respond. We were hopeful he would be understanding and share the costs which inconvenienced us following his comments that the batteries were good. Not knowing Andy beyond this transaction, I question his desire to do the right thing, and thought others should know about it. Is this how he provides customer service to others?

Spencer will try to threatening you. John and Spencer are the most dishonest people. Spencer would rather " update his contact annually"- to cover his poor work than strive to do HONEST QUALITY WORK! They did NOT deliver on quality, service, honesty!! They made zero attempt to fix their bad choice of skimping out. Cheated us for what we paid for. I made have been left with a loss of thousands of dollars but I don't want others to deal aa so many have by this group. I wish I could leave all the pictures- absolutely the worst!!

Beware of surprise billing practices. Poor communication frequently on their end including lack of…read moreupfront disclosures. Contracts to install items do not supposedly include appropriate functional installation and they will add on additional unreasonable billing to make additional money rather than stand behind their work. Specifically I paid them over 1000 dollars in labor alone just to install new bunks, motors (which didn't even include 800 dollars in separate subcontracted electrical work which was only revealed at the last minute prior to contract signing), cables for an existing boat lift. To me that implies the install will work appropriately; the contract did not specify workmanship and functional outcomes are not guaranteed; only stated settling of structures would not be covered. The bunks were not centered between the guideposts so whenever we lifted the boat it nearly tipped and risked damaging the boat. I contacted them and was told the bunks were not correctly spaced and they would come fix it, but was never told I would be charged again. Once again, in my mind this bunk adjustment is part of an appropriate install. If I knew I would be charged again I would have either found a different contractor or ensured we agreed upon pricing/rates prior to the work. Their repair team came and admitted the bunks weren't placed properly; that the boat wouldn't lift appropriately because the bunks were not centered correctly upon first install; and they spent approximately 4 hours to just get the bunks centered (which should at most take 1-2 hours, if that). I then received a bill for over 800 dollars to adjust the bunks despite already paying for proper installation, which was never done correctly to begin with. Happy to discuss further with any interested parties to give full disclosure and other details. They have somewhat of a monopoly on boat lift work in the Fox valley and will treat you with that monopoly in mind. Steer clear if possible.

I drove a mini van which turned out to be ill equipped to handle the 15 foot long poles of the bow stop. They spent over an hour to make sure the poles were tied safely and securely to the top of the van. The poles did not move at all over the long drive. I highly recommend Schmidt's and the Waupaca location.

I can tell Nathanael takes great pride in his work. Every single detail was attended to and completed with great care. I was overjoyed with how the bathroom turned out. It is functional AND beautiful. I was out of state the whole time Nathanael was working on my house, which I was quite nervous about, but he checked in regularly, sent photos of the progress, and called me whenever a decision needed to be made. When I returned home near the end of the construction, I could not even tell there had been people in and out working on the house. It was totally spotless. I really cannot recommend Nathanael and Laura enough. They made this process easy and painless for me and definitely increased the value of my home!!
