Again such amazing service!! I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone having any PC issues! Not only do they go above and beyond but they are fast! I can't say enough about how amazing the service is here. I have been here a few times already and every time they have been able to get me up and running after everything else had failed. Not only have they repaired my baby twice, but it's always the same flat fee whether it's only repairing the laptop itself (which required tearing it completely apart) cleaning it and getting it in great running condition, or totally tearing it apart again to replace the keyboard while only charging me for the parts and the flat fee. Very professional and promising on phone while discussing my pc issue. Very friendly when pc was left at location. It took longer than promised and I had to make several calls and visits. My main issue was a faulty DVD/CD burner drive. DVDs burned would play on no other devices but my pc. I made it clear I was attempting to create a DVD with photos and sound for a Memorial Service. Bay Area claimed it was "all fixed" but they did not touch that drive. I took it home with the same issue. They had performed some minor tweaking I mentioned was an annoyance to me, and that was great. Told "if we don't fix it the first time, bring it back, no further charge". I took it back. Not only did owner claim there was nothing wrong with the burner drive, he denied my mentioning numerous other issues while originally on the phone with him and issues that were written down by the person who took possession of my pc. On my 3rd visit, I was allowed to demonstrate the issue I was told was "impossible" and he installed a new media player that allowed me to view other DVDs I did not create on my pc but did not fix the burner problem. I was asked to bring a DVD player (because there was none at the store) and I did, but the owner did not touch it. The player he installed is obsolete. My main issue was not resolved, it wasn't even addressed. There was a substantial change in owner's attitude when I pushed the non- functioning DVD burner drive. That made me very uncomfortable and I left with my still non-functioning burner drive. Of what use is burning a DVD with photos and audio if you can only play it on your own pc? I would certainly not ever use the services of Bay Area Computers again. They may do excellent work for some but are dismissive of senior citizens who are admittedly computer illiterate. read more

I have been going to this place for years but am highly upset with my latest transaction. Dropped off an ASUS laptop and specifically said that I needed diagnostics repair and to fix my touchpad. Powered up the laptop when I got home no touch pad. Called and was told that he thought I was aware of the problem when I dropped it off. Often you walk away from an encounter and feel unsure of the transaction. Did I get a fair deal or was I taken advantage of? This is one of the times I was totally happy with the deal and had no question this was not only exceptional service but wondering how is the price this good! I had an older desktop that had developed software issues over the years. In loading updated Microsoft Office Suite it finally became unable to complete the install and all office apps were giving errors. Took a chance on Bay Area Computers and came away with a fully functional computer. He had to reset the OS to fix a large amount of registry errors. Installed Microsoft Office suite and had it tuned up and running like the day it was new. All my data was recovered. All I had to do was reinstall my printer and virus protection at home. And his deal is any computer fixed for $79.00. He said if parts are needed that would be extra. I inquired about a laptop issue my son was having and offhand he said it could be the hard drive. If so a hard drive would run about $90 in parts but it would be upgraded to a solid state drive. And to top all this off I dropped my desktop off at 10 am and he called me at 5 saying it was ready. Up front he said it could be 24 - 72 hours but he was done in 7. Chris runs a top notch shop and makes a customer feel appreciated. read more

I'm the furthest thing from tech savvy. My laptop is 7 years old. It seemed to have gone on the fritz. Wouldn't come on when I powered it up. I thought it might have been fried and was looking at new ones and was prepared to spend $900 or more. Took it into Bay Area and all it needed was a new hard drive. For just the $79 labor charge and cost of a new drive it's now looking and running as if it was brand new. I went back the next day because I needed help inputting some of the data I had lost and they took the time to explain everything to me and made sure I was satisfied. I was new when it came to rc vehicles. The people there took the time to talk to me as a person not just a customer. Respected the fact that I was clueless to the hobby but didn't take for granted that I was an adult. They stock a lot of new ready to run vehicles but also carry lots of used set ups as well. They didn't try to sell me the most expensive item in the store, because they knew I was new to it and would more than likely tear up whatever I first drove. That being said they have been really great at making sure that there wasn't a lot of time that I wasn't out tearing up dirt. They've done great at making me welcome at a lot of the events they attend. As for their IT department I can only assume they show as much care to your PC that they do a remote control car. I haven't had any issues with my laptop, knock on wood, but if there was an issue I would feel more than comfortable taking it to them. read more
