Long story short - we had a leak from our…read moreshower, clove rep came to fix it, then after mold remediation was already done we saw that it was still leaking, clove rep came back to fix it again, then I saw that where the leak was repaired again there were complete gaps between the shower wall and wall itself (as pictured) so water would have come spilling into the walls, then they came back to fix again. The part though that really bothers me is that, after all this, they also took my baseboard from the wall. No idea what they did with it. I called asking where it was and they never called me back. I'm now having to spend more money to get a custom baseboard created to match the rest of the room. I don't enjoy not supporting local businesses, but the fact that I'm now having to spend more money because of the baseboard being taken instead of this being compensated for is the reason I'm posting this. Poor Service, Overpriced, and Incomplete Work…read more I had a disappointing experience with this plumber. A few days after he performed a descaling on my Navien tankless water heater, an error code appeared. When I called him, his immediate response was that the recirculation pump had broken down and that it wasn't his fault if mechanical parts fail. I asked him to at least come and inspect the unit before making that determination over the phone, but he said the earliest he could come was four days later and "this is not on him". I did my own research and consulted another plumber. I was able to clear the error code myself simply by cleaning the filters. According to maintenance guidelines, a proper annual service should include both descaling the heat exchanger and cleaning the filters. Descaling alone is not considered complete maintenance, which means the service I received was incomplete. On top of that, the pricing was not transparent. He initially quoted $99, but when he arrived he demanded $175. Overall, I found the workmanship poor, the customer service dismissive, and the pricing unjustified. I cannot recommend this plumber based on my experience.

We contacted MG Plumbing due to a gas smell coming from our water heater when it was in use, which…read moreis a serious safety concern. Before the appointment, my husband explained the issue in detail and sent photos of the make and model of the unit. When Mark arrived, he looked at the unit and said he needed to contact the manufacturer and would follow up on Monday. We never received that follow-up. There were no missed calls, no voicemail, and no text message. My husband does not block unknown numbers and must answer all calls for work, so there is no record of any attempt to contact us. During this time, we were also dealing with our son unexpectedly needing surgery, which delayed us from calling back sooner. Prior to MG Plumbing's visit, we had already contacted PG&E when we first noticed the gas smell. PG&E did not detect a gas leak, even while running hot water to try to reproduce the issue. Out of caution, we have been turning the gas off when the unit is not in use. The smell appears to occur only when hot water is used in our children's bathroom. When we finally followed up later in the week, we were informed that Mark is not certified to work on Rinnai units, which prevented him from getting information from the manufacturer. Given the safety concern involved, this should have been clearly communicated sooner. Due to the lack of follow-up and communication, we had to start over with a certified plumber. I hope this review remains visible so others can make an informed decision.
