I brought my son in with me on Saturday so he could learn. The last time I was in the store was a month ago and the service was excellent. However, yesterday was an off the charts lesson in how NOT to treat a customer with a big wad of cash to spend. I planned to purchase a suppressor, a new rifle and a few cases of ammo. I hope the owner sees this and makes some training corrections. No matter the experience level of the shooter walking through your doors, don't be rude. The young man waiting on us behind the counter was extremely condescending and rude. I get it, you work in a gun store and know a ton more about guns and optics than I ever will. But mocking my equipment in front of my son is not a good look. I have a SigM400 that's almost 15yrs old and I could tell it wasn't new or cool enough for him right away. It wasn't all tricked out with gadgets because that's how I roll. Listen, There's lots of options where I can drop a few a few thousand around here. So all I did was ask about mounting my holosun green dot above my scope. He took one look at my scope and started mocking it. What he didn't know was it was a name brand (Osprey), granted it's not $1500 scope, but when I bought it 10yrs ago it was expensive to me. He said that the glass was garbage and "it looked like an air soft toy scope". After that he tried to sell me a new scope because apparently what I had wasn't good enough. Then he tried to sell me mounting rings that cost more than the $600 new scope he was pushing at me. The nerve. My son kept looking at me like "dad, why are you putting up with this BS". So we just thanked him for his valuable time and left. Just a horrible experience and I sincerely doubt this kid cares if I ever return. read more

SUMMARY: Great customer service. I mean, really great! I'm new to suppressors, did some homework, and the guys here (esp. Brody) helped fill in the blanks very patiently. BACKGROUND: Wife and I moved to this beautiful (and free) state nearly 2 years ago, and I want my wife and I to have the best shooting experience and training here in TX. I did some homework on suppressors over the past 2 weeks and decided to go with a store w/ the Silencer Shop kiosk and this store was the closest one. And I heard good things about Bauer in my FB gun club. EXPERIENCE: Luckily we beat the crowd because the shopping and registration experience took about 1.25 hours. We were handed off to Brody since he had the most knowledge of suppressors of all the staff members in the store at the time. Let me tell you, he was a wealth of knowledge. Plus, he patiently explained EVERYTHING to my wife and I based on his experience. I had some ideas (based on friend's feedback) of what I was aiming to buy, but Brody was able to tell me in very simple terms the pros and cons of several models and narrowed things down to two types of each caliber I was looking to buy. And another very significant thing: both Brody and the other staff member were absolute gentlemen towards my wife and never condescended towards her because of her newness to the firearms world. I really, really appreciated how they treated and explained things to her in the time we were there. KIOSK: The kiosk was very simple to use but very tedious to go through. No fault of the shop, of course. Contrary to some people, background checks are thorough so for all y'all who *think* purchasing anything firearms related is like buying a box of cereal at the grocery market, you're sorely mistaken. RETURN VISIT? Yup, I found another great gun store in Denton! I'll have to wait a bit they say (4-5 months) while the ATF evaluates my background, but in the meantime, I'll visit Bauer if I need anything else. Thanks, gents! Avoid Using them at all costs. They will keep items pending even though they have been in stock for a week. What a waste of time.

Terrible seller and dishonest. I bought a factory new Beretta 1301 Comp and they shipped a new gun in an old case with stains, scratches, and animal hairs. It was also broken and cracked. See pictures. Someone at Bauer took the gun out of the new Beretta case and put it in their old beat up case to ship it. There was also a broken plastic choke case that scratched the gun and it was missing the chokes. They tried to claim that they shipped everything new and my FFL dealer must have switched it. That's ridiculous. I think the operation is a scam or a thief works in shipping and swapped his junk with my order and sent it to me. They were completely unwilling to help and told me they wouldn't accept it back and said that everything they shipped was brand new. Read the online reviews on other forums and do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

Purchased through gun broker and was unresponsive to email and texts about amount and shipping. Paid anyways without a response and then Bauer Precision printed the label and sat on it for days before sending it out. Again they got their money up front and then wouldn't answer the phone or emails just to sit on the item for days after they charge a premium for shipping. After I left negative feedback they left me negative feedback because I paid my bill within 24hrs. Poor poor work ethic and obviously having trouble running a business. Will never do business again and if you feel like getting the runaround after you give them your money this is the place. Poor business practices and unethically run gun shop. Multiple emails and phone calls unanswered...This company is not about the customer...take you business elsewhere..awful service. They always have extreme quality products in their store in stock where no one else has them it seems. No junk in the store whatsoever. Owner is extremely friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Done business with him over the years for cans and other products and they've always been extremely responsive and fast. read more

As much as I love this place, I equally hate it! Can't ever get out of there for under $500. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING. I walk in there and Gun Shop by Matt Best comes to mind. Best gun store in DFW. read more
