I thought this was very shady and decided to try another roofing company "Lon Smith" that was recommended by a friend. Trent came out for the initial inspection of the roof and he spent a solid hour to write everything up to make sure it was all documented. Once the insurance company came out and told us how much they would pay for the roof replacement, Lon Smith worked on my behalf to negotiating with the insurance company on why the replacement of the roof was more then originally quoted by the insurance company. It was nice to not have to do this part on my own. Trent did let us know that our roof did not have adequate ventilation according to today's standards/code. At no cost to us, they installed more ventilation and also upgrade the previous ventilation that was used. The actual replacement of the roof went as well as I would think a roof replacement could go. They showed up right on time in the morning, and began bright and early. I went to work, while my wife stayed home during the installation, and by the time I returned from work at 5 they were completely done. They did a wonderful job laying out tarps to catch nails and debris. They also performed a thorough cleanup. One thing that separated Lon Smith from the rest besides everything that I previously mentioned was, they have an employee come by a few days later to inspect the work that was completed to make sure everything was installed correctly. They also asked if we had any concerns, which we mentioned a few minor things like we could see some finger prints on the siding of the house, which he took care of. So to sum it up, I would say it was a pleasure to work with Lon Smith, and they really did a great job on our roof.

(especially when watching the exposed wood-composite of two of my neighbors get rained upon because their contractor was apparently more interested in schedules than the home they were working on). Sometimes James was difficult to get on the phone but he always, without fail, communicated via email, text or callback within 2-12 hours, sometimes quicker. The crew showed up timely, did great work, cleaned up daily and they were done on schedule. They were all very friendly and courteous and respectful of us and our property. About 4 months after the contract was signed, the roof work began. The sub-contractors fell through my ceiling, made a mess of and damaged my attic while replacing the roof. Aaron promised to have it cleaned up and new insulation blown in, but now, over a year later, it's still not done. The roofers also damaged the leaf screens over my rain gutters, and again, an empty promise to fix them. After the roof was on, months went by without hearing from Aaron. I tried to contact him multiple times, giving him more than five to ten opportunities to reply back to me, but nothing... absolutely nothing. Then all of a sudden, about 10 months after the roof was on, he contacted me and wanted the rest of the insurance money, while also sitting down with me to talk about what he was going to do for me to make up for his lack of contact during the previous months. I told him I'd let him know when a check would be available for him. He hounded and hounded me for it, but I kept it until I was ready to give it to him. I wrote a check for the remainder of the roof, and he tried to cash it on the same day from my bank (Saturday), and due to the large amount of the check, the bank didn't want to cash it. Aaron asked me to write him two separate checks so the amounts wouldn't be as high and easier to cash....I had left for the day, and couldn't accommodate that request, and shouldn't have had to. The bank, and Aaron bugged me during that day about the funds being available, until the bank finally cashed it. Since I wrote the final check, over a month has passed, and although I've tried to reach him again, he has gone silent again. I really can't say if the company did good work or not, because I'm not a roofer, but I know they didn't finish the remainder of the contracted work, for which they will not get paid. You are risking additional damage to your home, with a bad business ethic and unfinished promises if you hire IAS Roofing and Construction. I am very unhappy with the way I was treated, while being very patient and giving them multiple chances to complete the work and make good on promises given.

After many weeks of nothing we hear on Tuesday Nov. 10, when I called them, that they would have a team out to our house on Friday Nov 13th which was 1 month exactly after we sent them notification their bid was accepted. They sent 1 person Friday afternoon that had no knowledge of the project and told us he was only there to paint. Nobody arrived to do the rest of the work, then later that afternoon I got a call and was told a team would be out Monday for the rest of our project. After 13 hours of the painter on prem between Friday and Saturday only half of the first coat of paint was done. When I complained to Chance Gaylord, the owner, he told me they will cancel the project, refund my deposit and good luck! With the holidays just around the corner our home is in chaos and have had to tell our daughter she cannot come home from school. We have to start this process all over again, MD Construction has been an absolute nightmare. HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION, NO PROJECT PLANNING, & Very RUDE OWNER!
