We had someone else install our HVAC system 4 years ago, and we've had nothing but trouble with it ever since. The tech that installed it never calls us back when we need service. This summer, our A/C broke down 4 times and we couldn't find anyone reliable or knowledgeable to fix it, including the tech that originally installed it. Thank God our neighbor's recommended we call Murray's. The entire staff there has been super friendly, professional and knowledgeable and they do what they say they're going to do like show up when promised. Mike Hajjar was our service technician. He is EXCEPTIONAL. I wish I could steal him away for our own business...he's THAT good. He showed up on time, was friendly, and took the time to thoroughly investigate what our issues were. He didn't quit, get frustrated, and was patient. My husband couldn't be there and instead poor Mike got stuck with me who knew little about our system or the issues we'd been having (I just knew the darn A/C didn't work and it was 87 in the house!). He was fantastic. He explained everything to me and even put up with my non-stop barking pug, Mason. He wouldn't quit until he found what the problem was. It wasn't the A/C after all. It was the fan to the furnace! He had to clean a big mess where water had gotten in, a decaying dead mouse, and a lot of dust. He seemed to enjoy solving the mystery and didn't stop until he figured it out and then stayed to make sure it was working properly after. He wouldn't even take any money to buy himself some lunch as a "thank you." I was completely blown away by him. What a wonderful service technician!! We plan to use Murray's from now on and refer anyone we know to them as well. When you don't have heat or A/C, you can't wait a week to get a call back or an apt. They were prompt, thorough, honest and REASONABLY priced too. They knock it out of the ballpark in all regards. Dan, the Owner, I hope you do right by this young man because he's a gem. I had them do yearly servicing on the boiler for the last three years and then had them repair it in February - March 2026 when there was a problem with very low heat. The problem was not correctly addressed. At no time did they check to determine that most of the water had drained out of the boiler. They said I needed a new aquastat and replaced it but set it to 200 degrees (about 40 degrees higher than needed). When I had a technician from a company that knows how to service boilers look at it, the inside was very dirty (had not been getting regular cleaning, although I had paid for maintenance each fall). He discovered that the water had drained out, that it needed flushing, and has repaired the boiler.

I knew nothing about his company, there were no reviews that I could find, but took a chance because he was local, licensed and in business for 30 years. Professional, personal, walked me through everything he was going to do. He told me he would get the rest of the cartridge out, but it wouldn't guarantee the new one would work because the guy who had worked on it the day before damaged the casing around it. I asked him to try anyway. Nope the previous guy had done too much damage. So Gary stayed, didn't charge me for that new cartridge he destroyed by seeing if it would work, replaced everything that needed to be done. He cut the wall open w/ care so that It would be easy for me to patch up (who knew to replace piping and plumbing you had to go through a wall and not be able to get to it through a little hole, ugh!). My shower works better than ever. I am more than pleased with his work and would hire him again in a second. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is his hourly rate is a bit more than others in the Syracuse area. Called, set up an appointment and the service repairman came . His name was Dean. He called before he was to arrive, he knew exactly how to fix the issue. He gave me a hint on removing the filter. Told me to make rabbit ears on the filter with duck tape. That way I can pull the filter out. I told him I was disappointed the installers did not show me how to remove the filter. After all, I really was not thrilled that I had to have a service call. The best part of this review is that there wasn't any charge, he gave me a pound of hummingbird coffee , a fabulous tip on removing the filter and we shook hands. Very thankful for the rabbit ear tip, everyone should learn this! Very pleased with Hummingbird, the service repairman Dean and my pound of coffee. But the best part... no charge.
