I have used battery mart in the past. I looked up the business on yelp to find there hours and was lucky enough to find a ten dollar off coupon. I pulled into the shop and they had my hood up within two minutes and we're testing my battery. Sure enough my battery was dead. When AAA showed up, I was expecting $190 - $250 for a new battery. After being told AAA could not replace my battery, the driver recommended Battery Mart. He said you just pull in and they replace it. He did mention they charge for install, but that many people have talked about their service. I called the dealership because the car is only three years old. They were charging almost $425, and I needed an appointment. Hey, the battery is dead and it would be nice to get it done quickly. Oh well. So I called Battery Mart. They quoted me just a little over $100 and no install charge if it's a straightforward install. I jumped the car with my NEXPOW 2000A Peak Car Jump Starter (a great product BTW), and hightailed it over to Battery Mart.They are easily located on Victoria St, just off Newport Blvd and the 55 Freeway. When I pulled in I was directed straight into an open bay. About ten minutes later, I had paid and was on my way with a new five year warranty battery, and for only $120 including tax. Time will tell regarding the battery itself. I have no reason not to believe it will be a suitable replacement, and definitely easy on the wallet. The staff was super friendly and quite efficient and quick. I highly recommend Battery Mart. And thanks to AAA for the recommendation. read more

Chances are if you need a battery and live within a 200 mile radius of Costa Mesa at least 4 people you know will recommend this place. My dad was getting batteries from here in the 80s/90s, and your dad probably was too. Most straightforward place to take your truck. Takes like 10 minutes. Until I get that sorted out, I'm copying-and-pasting the review to the correct "Bob B." user account. - - - BATTERY MART (10/11/2022) - I've seen a couple of the really negative reviews and, of course, I have no reference point for those. And please know that I'm absolutely sympathetic to the occasional not-good-experience that bedevils every business and customer from time-to-time. Having said that, I have to weigh in about yesterday's GREAT first-time experience here. Typical scene: Dead battery in home driveway means no great breakfast with my regular Tuesday AM Crew. I do what you almost always do. I call AAA (aka Automobile Club of Southern California around these parts) for a tow because I just don't know for certain if it's "dead battery alone" or something more serious and I want to get ahead of the game if I can. Cordial Southside Towing driver Sam shows up, checks battery, and we discuss ACSC's battery replacement service which I've used before. The planned scenario is for them to show up, install the right new battery, take your credit card info ... and you're done. Easy enough in theory. But yesterday, after more than an of waiting past the scheduled time, I get a call back from the Auto Club saying "no technicians and no batteries" in your area today. (I live in one of the most population-dense places in the country where you can throw a rock and hit an Auto Club-related vendor, right? Can't figure it out. Surely this isn't the fault of Covid? That's still the all-purpose excuse for any substandard circumstance.) So, my wife drives me to my Volvo mechanic, Tom Donoghue at Value Auto in Costa Mesa. Check out my stellar and well-deserved review of him and his business. The man actually drops what he's doing and drives to my nearby house ("Tom, we can do this tomorrow"), successfully jumps the battery, and leads me to the place near his shop where he sends all his customers: Battery Mart. It's a little tough to spot from the street as it looks like a private residence next to Herb's Garage until you look closer (see photo). The nearest major landmark would be the Jiffy Lube on the corner of Newport Blvd. and Victoria St. I pull into the driveway and around the back straight in to a service bay. Pop the hood, battery chosen. Given a $99.95 price quote and I step over to the counter for invoice and payment. In the time it takes me to pay and turn around, the job is done! Unbelievable! I've spent longer at traffic lights than it took to get that battery into my ancient chariot. Their business card reads "THE FACTS-THE SAVY [sic]-THE BATTERIES" and "HOME OF SUDDEN SERVICE". To misspell "savvy" ... insert your own joke here (it's correct on this Yelp page) ... but their description was my utterly-satisfied experience. Of course, time will tell the tale about the battery itself and any necessary return visits. But if you get online and invoke one of those "find your battery search engines", make sure somebody's standing nearby to revive you from the sticker shock at how much most of them cost these days. After a morning in Dead Battery Purgatory, it was nice to have a good end to the story! read more

After dealing with battery issues for several months and taking my vehicle in on two different occasions I would not recommend these guys to anyone. I would rather have a High school auto shop kid actually fix my vehicle than these arrogant aholes get me in and out in 2 minutes but not actually ficx the underlying issue. They know so much about batteries they dont need to even listen to the customer so you will end up like me every day waking up wondering if your car is actually going to start. I can call them but I already know they will ignore anything I say, tighten the terminal and send me on my way only for the f'ing thing to not start 2 days later. Worst customer service ever. I guess the only good thing is I didnt get charged for the 2 times I took the vehicle in but I wouldn rather pay and have the damn thing work. The battery is theirs which is why they had no problem helping for free but again, not very helpful when I am constantly having to deal with the battery terminals and these arrogant know it all d1psh1ts provide a temporary fix, and I mean very temporary when 2 days later I am having issues again. I needed a new battery yesterday and came in to the shop after finding it on yelp. Read the good reviews and got some bad service. Left with some issues that their young mechanic could not finish. 1st he left a battery cable loose. 2nd he forgot to plug a hose back in my air filter. 3rd he left a wire that was making contact with the fan which would make a weird noise while I was driving. Been purchasing all my batteries for my cars here for years and years. Unfortunately, they had given me a smaller battery than what fits into my car and told me probably since I'm female and don't know much about batteries, he gentleman told me "this will work just fine" so I took his word and used the battery, after not even a year the battery kept dying. I was not able to drive my car even after calling AAA and jumping my car several times, battery kept dying, took it back to battery mart 5x and all they did was "charge it up" and come pick it up couple hours later. okay i did this 5 times and now i'm sick of it, they would not give me a replacement battery even though their warranty stated it and my battery is within time frame. SCUMS AND SCAMS! never returning and giving my business here ever again! In September 2020, and based on positive Yelp reviews , we purchased a battery for our car. For $99.95 (plus tax), with a five-year warranty, it felt like an unbeatable price. We were in and out within a few minutes, and we thought we scored a great deal. Unfortunately, in November 2021, the car would not start on several occasions, and our mechanic confirmed there was nothing wrong with the alternator or starter. Our mechanic was confident there was an issue with the battery. I brought the car back to Battery Mart, with our September 2020 receipt, but the gentlemen who ran the business declined to honor the warranty, taking the position that there was nothing wrong with the battery. As a compromise, we agreed to purchase a new battery at a discounted price. For nearly two years, we had no issues. However, once in September 2023, and on multiple occasions in December 2023, we repeatedly needed to jumpstart the battery. We drive the car almost daily, we confirmed no lights had been left on, no devices were plugged in, etc. Our mechanic again confirmed there was nothing wrong with the alternator or starter, and it was his opinion the likeliest culprit was (again) a bad battery. While we could have brought the vehicle back to Battery Mart in the hopes the shop would honor the warranty this time around, we opted to spend a little bit more money, and to buy a battery from Costco. While I was a little intimidated by the process of replacing a battery on my own, it ended up being relatively straightforward. In the end (and while we've all become quite comfortable with jump starting our car battery), we realized we'd rather spend a little bit more money on a battery that can we can (hopefully) rely on for more than two years at a time. In all the years of car ownership, we have never been in a situation where we have had to replace a car battery this often. While perhaps we are outliers, our personal experience with Battery Mart has been disappointing. read more

I looked everywhere for 2 6v deep cycle marine batteries for my RV. I remembered driving past Battery mart when visiting my Aunt in HB, so on a whim, I drove out there (because I couldn't remember the name of the place). An incredibly sweet young man, can't remember his name but he is the owner's grandson, knew exactly what I needed, grabbed me two, carried them to my car (I have an understanding for how crazy strong this rather slight guy is! It took all I could manage to SHIFT even one of them in the back of my car when I got home!) Got all paid (great price!) and off to the races! 2 minutes. They offered to install them if I bring the RV back. After trying to get my son to do it, I'm taking it back tomorrow to have it done. If I don't come back and update this to the contrary, you can assume it went as wonderfully as my first encounter with them! It's always great to find a small family operated place like this, and get that personal attention. If I EVER need another battery for ANYTHING, I'm coming back here. I took it back multiple times to battery mart to diagnose and they told me it was fine and that it was my cars starter.
