I wanted quality batteries for my truck so I purchased the Platinum series from them. Called and spoke to both Louis and Miguel. Miguel explained the process to me in detail and told me to bring the batteries in because they'd have to charge the batteries over night, and test them in the morning. If the batteries cells tested bad under a load test they would give me replacements. Called the next day and spoke to Louis and he told me my cells were in fact bad after testing them and that I could come and pick up my replacements! He also explained to me that my 3 year warranty starts over again from the day they replaced them. If that isn't A+ service and a company that stands behind their product, I don't know what is! I used to believe the hype about Interstate Batteries being top of the line. I don't anymore. I had…read morealready begun to see them backing off on their warranties and essentially not backing their products. The last straw was the motorcycle battery I bought 14 months ago that came with only a 6 month warranty. It will no longer hold a charge. When I asked the guy at the counter if $25+ a month for a motorcycle battery was acceptable, he seemed OK with that. Even though I got 14 months out of it, that's still $10-$15 a month which he thought was a bargain. No offer to prorate on a new one for me either. He told me that this would not be acceptable to him if he were on my side of the counter, but that it should be OK for me. I told him that this was an unacceptable amount of risk to me and that I could not buy a replacement battery from him today. Nor could I buy a car battery from him for my two cars that will need new batteries in the near future. He said that the computer wouldn't let him rectify the situation and that there was nothing he could do. I've been told that Interstate now makes their batteries in Mexico instead of by Johnson Controls. The Johnson Controls manufacturing facility and warehouse on Kimberly Avenue in Fullerton has been closed for quite a while. He probably did me a favor anyway. I got a new Duracel battery at Batteries Plus with a two year warranty. I took advantage of some Labor Day sales and got it for 35-40% less than what Interstate would charge. I gave Interstate a chance to retain my business and they failed just like the battery they sold me. Spend my money well because that is all you are getting.
