Then actually started the process a month ago and Matt discovered a leaking crack in our foundation. They stopped work and allowed us to have the crack repaired with epoxy injection. Bath Fitter? Beware! I have my contract from 10 years ago, open as I type this so as not to put ANY false information in this YELP. 1. It is in our contract that it would take 1 day to complete the install from start to finish. a. It took 2 days. 2. We were told that "even if the regulator behind the tub/shower faucet stopped working, do not call a plumber, call us and we will come out to make the repairs at no cost to you for as long as you own the house". b. We called yesterday because the tub/shower faucet will not turn and was told that the warranty for plumbing is for 8 years. 3. We have had them out to repair or replace the bowed shower curtain rod that dips down in front and is not level. c. It still dips and is not level, I have just hemmed my outer shower curtain, it was easier to do that than deal with Bath Fitter. 4. Now, apparently is costs $150 just to have then come out to look at your issue before making any repairs. As soon as I finish this YELP, I am contacting the Attorney General for Illinois at www.illiniosattorneygeneral.gov. read more

IF YOU'RE BUYING A HOME WITH BATHFITTER BEWARE! Bath Fitter's claim to lifetime warranty for repair and service, is only for the original buyer. If you PURCHASE a home that has Bath Fitter overlay covering the tub, or shower BEWARE! Bath Fitter does not uphold the repair/service agreement with new owners. Their contract only covers the original purchasers. I called them about water seeping under the overlay and offered to pay for the service. They told me they provide service to homeowners that made the original purchase of their products, not the new owners that bought the home with Bath Fitter product already installed. The problem is that people buy the overlay to make their place look nice to sell, but the new owners are stuck with a problem when it invariably starts to seep after a few years. Imagine stepping into your tub and feeling the water under the overlay! It's like walking on a waterbed!! The only suggestion the customer service had for me was to pay $2000 for a new Bath Fitter unit. Really? I think not! I'm saving up for a real tub and tile job! Bath Fitter stinks!! Buying a new home? Don't buy one that has Bath Fitter overlay. You'll regret it. read more

My disabled husband called for a quote for a new tub system . The advertising on tv and phone and appointment takers is deceptive to the buyer . They do not indicate that they can not go over a fiberglass tub. They state on their advertising that there is no demolition not true . If you have fiberglass tubs which 95 % of homes do they have to demolition the old one. Waist of time for buyer and sales person. I am writing to commend the installer of my tub liner. The installation is beautiful and I hope I the tub liner is as good as the installation. The spout on the old tub had to be cut off. This required getting access to the plumbing in the adjacent linen closet. All the many items in the closet had to be removed even the shelving for access. My wife was out of town and I have a shoulder injury and the installer removed all the many items in the closet and placed them in baskets to access the piping. First I would say the installer did a good job with what he had to work with. The tub and shower surround was replaced. The salesman apparently measured the tub 2 inches less than was needed. The installer showed me I needed a 34in. tub, not a 32in one. He called the office to see if they could get one out. They told him they don't make one in that size. He had to build the back wall out so the wrong tub would fit. I have tongue and groove on the walls that the old tub had a lip on it the screwed to the studs. The walls were built out so they could glue their cheap walls to them. When completed it looks like a cheap plastic tub glued to the wall. They are way over priced. It cost over $4600.00 for the job and I had to remove and dispose of the old tub to keep the cost down. I replaced the shower stall in an upstairs bathroom myself with a very nice unit from Lowes that had the proper lip on it so I could screw it to the studs and reinstall the tongue and groove. It was less than $1000.00 and it looks so much better. Don't waste your money with Bathfitters! read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS COMPANY!I am furious with this company! Bathfitters is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. My bathtub liner has cracked in the EXACT SPOT at least six times. The manager Warren is the rudest person that I have ever encountered.He makes appointments stating that he going to come to your home and assess the issue with the liner, and never shows up. He informs you that a technician is going to come to your home at a certain time, and the technician is late, (with no apology at all). Warren(Branch Manager) yelled at me, then stopped answering and returning my telephone calls. Now the company does not want to repair my bathtub liner and they are trying to strong arm me into voiding my lifetime warranty. They do not want to replace my liner until I sign a release. I have never been so insulted in all my life. I have been accused of doing abusive things to a bathtub liner. The liner that keeps cracking in the EXACT SAME SPOT. They will not release the Names, addresses, and or telephone numbers of the CEO,CFO, or President. I called the corporate office and requested the information and to this date I have received no information.They would like me to submit my complaint to them, so they can filter through my e-mails to the Owner, CEO, CFO. I requested that my original tub be replaced since it is ruined from all of the liners that have been replaced. The company just totally disregarded that request.I have been accused of having a plumber damaging the liner, using a handicap chair in the tub, and the latest is using the incorrect product on the bathtub liner, because the particular product was in one of the pictures that I submitted to them. So, I took a picture of all the products that I use in my bathroom. I have been trying to get this matter rectified since FEBRUARY 2014. The company had me without use of my bathtub for over two weeks so they could give me a liner that would last. That liner lasted the least amount of time. Bathfitter had no problem with taking my money and my early pay-off, but they are having a serious problem with honoring my contract and fixing the problem. I am totally frustrated with this company.
