I've been shopping at this location for years and always had a positive experience. Today however, i gathered all my unused candles and wallflowers to even exchange them for scents me and my daughter actually enjoy. Lara did my return. She instantly seemed irritated, refused half my items and accused me of abusing the return policy. When she scanned my sealed and unused wallflowers, she started manually changing the price to a lower amount than what they had scanned. I ended up keeping them to address this issue with the company. My experience was humiliating, and as a long time customer it made me think twice about where I'll be spending my money next time. The products I was trying to exchange were purchased by me with my own money and reflected in my rewards account. The way Lara treated me, especially as a leadership figure in the store, was uncalled for and unprofessional. Some retraining might be required. I will definitely reach out to corporate. In the end, affiliate handing me my twenty something dollars gift card, she then said a sarcastic "have a blessed day ". read more

First: the staff at this store is AMAZING! Laura was helpful & cool in helping me shop for a gift for my gf. I dont know anything about this stuff and she made it easy. The previous review with the woman returning old stuff... uhhhh, you're returning OLD stuff. I asked about returns and exchanges for the gift. Return policy is straightforward. I like the hand sanitizers they sell here, they're perfect for a purse or backpack. I also regularly buy their body sugar scrubs, they foam up and work well as an exfoliator. This is also a good place to pickup gift cards. I try to limit my time in here as the smell in here is overwhelming and tends to trigger a migraine fairly quick. It's not the stores fault though. The service here has always been good. I'm always greeted right away, and they always check on you consistently. Everyone seems cheerful and friendly. My son likes coming in here more than I do to be honest, probably because I have a sensitivity to the scents. I do avoid coming here when they have their twice yearly sale though because people seem to be a little crazy around that time, just an FYI. When you walk into a store and they're blasting Britney Spears' "drive me crazy", you know it's going to be a great shopping experience, and this store did not disappoint! I don't fit the look of what you would expect a Bath & body works customer to look like, but the ladies working here don't hold it against me. Every time I come here, They are always available to help if I have questions and provide excellent customer service. They in fact introduced me to their men's body wash and I will never buy store bought men's wash again! One bottle of their body wash seriously lasts two months even with daily use. We were in the area and I spotted this store and just wanted to see what they had. I am sad to see that two of my favorite scents have been discontinued (Black Berry Vanilla and Carried Away). I have found that their online store has Carried Away, but limited items. I liked this store because it was clean, organized and stocked full of different scents. The ladies that were working here were really nice and very helpful. I didn't end up getting anything, but will go back if I need to stock up on some bath items. We came here on a Saturday evening for a very specific purchase. We don't shop here too often but we are always happy when we do. Adam loves gingerbread soap so we always make a trip around Christmas for fun scented soaps. Adam's hands are always so clean during the holiday season so he can constantly have that gingerbread smell. Their soaps so smell great and make you feel clean as well. This trip I also opted to get the scentportables to place in our cars. There are 2 different holders, one for the visor and one for the air vent. Adam got the air vent scent holder and I got the one for the visor. They come in different decorative ways so you can jazz up your car. Right now being that it is Christmas, they are all holiday themed but I plan to go back in the spring to get something cute to decorate my car with. Adam got vanilla for his car. I got tis the season, apple cinnamon, and a springy smell. I have the apple cinnamon in my car right now and it smells soooo good. Anyone who gets in my car compliments to amazing smell. They also seem to last a good amount of time which is great. This location is convenient being in Grossmont plaza. The staff was all friendly and very helpful. They pointed us right to the gingerbread soap - they knew Adam was a man on a mission! Overall, we are happy with everything we have and are happy every time we come here! read more

just wanted to let you know I love your line of candles I have purchased at least 150 candles in the past year. I call La Mesa Bath Body Works store and tell then it's the big girl Julie that buys all the candles and they immediately know who I am and if requested they will put things to the side to assist and make sure then I'm taking care of. The phone number for the La Mesa branch 619- 466-4780. I go in at least twice a week see what is coming up I also purchased tons of the body cream the candle holders other Bath & Body Works products. Most of the time I've misplaced my coupons or I can't afford to buy something I like you have a great team at the store because they always work with me to make sure I'm taken care of. Especially call they have all for the same things for me for the end of day so I can come in and pick them up. Half the time I feel like I'm working there because I recommend items that may be of interest to the other customers hahaha. Either way I think the La Mesa store needs to be commended on their top-notch customer service and right when you walk in the door there's somebody there to assist you with your name you got a great group of girls over there I'm horrible with names but I'm good at faces. I remember Joan because she's the one that worked with the most. I actually I didn't want to leave anybody out so I drove down to the store and the other girls Tara, Linda and Tori, along with the rest of the team! The 5 stars are only for Sales associate Maria. I came in yesterday looking for new fragance mist and knew they had a sale going on. I was in there for 35-40 min. Trying to find the right scents and no one asked me if i needed help. There was 2 ladies there. They both asked the people who came in after me for help but never me even though they passed by several times. It wasnt until the last 10 minutes i was there that maria clocked in for her shift and saw i was carrying products that she offered me a bag.
