We were greeted as soon as we arrived, and I loved seeing the variety of products they carried. There were so many cool household items, clothing pieces, and of course, fragrance! We spent most of our time in the fragrance section, and the associate helping us was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She made the experience even more enjoyable and gave us plenty of time to explore and smell different fragrances. Such a unique and fun place to shop! I first learned about Onata while attending an art market in Houston, where the owners were there selling the candles. The amazing smells of the candles quickly drew me in, and I couldn't leave without buying one of their travel sized candles. I went for the "Isra" scent, and I cannot speak highly enough of it! The owner explained to me that she had gone through trial and error, finding fragrances that are strong enough to fill your home, but gentle enough to not cause headaches or migraines. She was right -- this small candle has filled my office with a sweet, cozy smell for days and no headaches (for once!). I love that they are made entirely of soy and have all-cotton wicks, making them a more natural alternative to what you buy at a store. Unlike many of the Houston stores that are often crowded with demanding customers, this location maintains a calm, pleasant environment that makes shopping enjoyable. It's also one of the few BBW stores in Houston that I haven't witnessed the constant, brazen shoplifting that has unfortunately become commonplace in retail and especially in this crime ridden city. I was immediately greeted and directed to where I could pick up my online order. This was a simplified process. I decided to get another scent that I did not order online, as well as trade out one that I had ordered online for something I liked better. They worked with me and were so gracious in allowing me to make my trade out, and I appreciated it. There was a scent that I wanted that this location ran out of, they were kind enough to call the neighboring store for assistance (their Rice Village location) just minutes away. The Rice Village location had what I needed and then some! Something that really impressed me about the Rice Village team was how friendly and warm they were! Their customer service was on 10! The two men working at the register suddenly stood up and were on high alert. Immediately my friend and I felt like we were being watched. They had a good selection of soaps which led me to pick up a honey bar of soap. Seconds after, the young caucasian man told me he could hold it for me in the front. Mind you I had no bags in my hands and neither of us were hiding. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I didn't walk in to be racially profiled or observed like some wild animal.
