Absolutely horrible customer service…read more I haven't been to Marshalls in a while, so apparently there is now a different process for using the dressing rooms. I was not aware of this, and instead of simply explaining the new procedure to me, the employee working the dressing room made the entire interaction unnecessarily hostile. When I first approached the dressing room, the employee repeatedly pointed behind me and said something that sounded like "hang there." Because of her heavy accent, I genuinely could not understand what she was saying. I asked/needed her to repeat herself multiple times because I had absolutely no idea what she was trying to tell me. Instead of recognizing that I was clearly confused and explaining it, she became visibly frustrated, walked over, and slammed her hand down on the hanging station. For context, in the past I have simply told the employee how many items I had and been given a number, so I had no reason to know that the process had changed. I was not refusing to follow a rule. I literally did not understand what the employee was asking me to do. Then, on my way OUT of the dressing room, I encountered another employee. She told me to "hang there," so I hung up the clothes I did not want. She immediately snapped, "NO. ALL OF THEM," in an extremely rude tone. I understand having policies. I understand wanting customers to follow them. What I do not understand is why employees feel the need to treat a confused customer like they are a criminal instead of simply saying, "Hey, we have a new dressing room policy. Please hang all of your items here." That would have taken approximately five seconds. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed and genuinely uncomfortable over something that could have been resolved with one normal, polite explanation. If your store changes its procedures, customers cannot be expected to magically know the new rules, especially when they have not been in the store recently. The policy itself is not my complaint. The absolutely awful attitude and customer service are. I will think twice before shopping at this location again.

The staff here were so incredibly helpful with both decorating (streamers already up before we even arrived!) and the crafting. All the kids were enjoying themselves and got to go home with a bath bomb and perfume. (Okay, actually, the bath bombs had to dry first, so we picked them up the next day and delivered them). We brought cupcakes, chips, other snacks, drinks, and all the plates and forks and such we would need. They staff did all the prep and clean-up, though (we helped), and they were really amazing throughout the entire event. I would definitely recommend this place for a birthday party to anyone interested! I would also recommend the shop in general, as they had lot of pre-made scented items already, plus kits for DIY soaps and candles and such. It's a quaint little shop and worth dropping in, if you're looking for unique gifts (for others or yourself)!

It's obvious that they put a premium on their customers' experience by hiring people who are enthusiastic to be there and help you. I've been impressed by the diversity of their associates as well, and greeted and treated equally well, no matter who the associate is. The shop has an excellent selection, with many non-Hallmark product lines as well, including boutique-type lines. Shopping there is always a relaxing and engaging experience, and it's probably the only store I go to even when I have nothing specific in mind so I can just browse to my heart's content. Bravo to the owners, managers and sales associates for making this such a terrific store and keeping it that way for so long. I hope it never changes.

I went there this morning to purchase an item and when I got home, I realized I bought the wrong thing. I went back to exchange it, and as I was walking in, three young black men were also approaching. One stepped back and opened the door for me and then they walked in. As I'm at the counter making my exchange, the owner came out of nowhere (I hadn't seen him the first time I went) and rudely told the boys they needed to leave. I was the only other customer in the store. The owner told the young men that they had to leave because the sign on the door says, "2 students at a time". He was nasty about it. The "sign" on the door is literally a loose leaf piece of paper with some writing with a marker. He never told the young men that there were only 2 allowed in at a time. He simply told them to get out. This is where I jump in to defend the young men. It is Saturday. There was no one else in the store. They weren't bothering anybody. They genuinely looked confused. After a little back and forth between me and the owner, I told the cashier to refund me my money because if they weren't allowed to shop there, I wouldn't either. I told the young men to put back the one item they had and that we were all leaving and we did. The owner ran off to the back room like a coward. I left but I was still stewing, so I went back to confront him and recorded this time. LET'S TAKE A STANCE AND NOT SHOP THERE!!! You'll hear in the attached video that he says it doesn't matter to him. Let's prove him wrong.
