Me and a friend booked a candle workshop with Candles Off Main based on the advertisement that states the workshop is 45 to 1 hour long. We were there for 10 minutes, we poured scented oil in pre-melted wax that the instructor mixed in our jar and the workshop was done. This wasn't a workshop know information given about candle making at all. Do not book. read more

This is a great place to make a candle. Michael was a great teacher. Very knowledgeable and patient. The show room displays are lovely. I enjoyed the process of smelling the sample scents and selecting my vessel. The fee was reasonable at $20. I choose to upgrade my vessel which was an additional $8. After this candle has been completed burned, I can take the vessel back to create another candle. There are lots of other candle/scent options available for purchase. I'm looking forward to returning. I had a great experience here. read more

After scoping this place out on a group on we scheduled our appointment for a candle making class. Class started right on time and we all made a 8 oz candle after sniffing and deciding on what scent combination to have. You sat at a table with 2 to 4 others. If you were done early you could browse the large sections of candle and diffusers. Note this is a terrible place for small kids but a very enjoyable experience for a night out. We bought a diffuser and left satisfied and happy. read more

This place was very nice and cozy. I went in expecting to just go in and simply just make candles, but the session turned out to be very informative. They really take their time to teach you about candle making, and they're very helpful in answering any questions when making your own candles. If I had to complain about anything it would that the space is just too small. I know the class sizes are limited due to this, but it's still very crammed. But I loved the way that my candle turned out and I would definitely love to go back to make more! read more

Why 5 Stars? Because the owner took the time to candle shop with me. She greeted me when I entered the store, allowed me to browse and then candle sniffed with me. Some people don't like to be bothered while shopping but trust me it was a healthy balance without being pushy. The store has a great selection of luxury candles. I found what I was looking for and took some suggestions on another (based on my aroma preference) all within a reasonable price point. I will return for the experience, keep an eye out for specials online and continue to watch there YouTube channel. read more

I've been a customer of Candles off Main for quite a few years. Really liked them alot. Their shipping policies seemed to change a couple of years back, other than that, I ordered, they shipped, I enjoyed...I changed things up this time and ordered diffusers instead of my usual candles. When I opened the order yesterday morning, one diffuser was missing and one had it's label 3/4 of the way illegible (smeared and left a sediment on my fingers). I contacted customer service, who instructed me to send pics of the label and affected packing materials and they would then process a refund. Maybe I don't have any idea how much inventory is lost in this manner that companies feel they have to request photos and such, but I would guess it'll be a long time before I place another order. Long time customers don't seem to count for much anymore. read more

It's byob and they give you any accessories you may need for your drinks (glasses, ice, corkscrew). You also get a discount on the store when you attend a class. The open candle melts are amazing. My friend and I found a Groupon for a 2 hour candle making class so we decided to give it a try. The place is super cute and clean. They have an amazing variety of every type of candle possible. Our instructor was great an explaining the whole candle making process but my favorite part was the wall with all the scents. Being able to smell and choose your favorite combinations of scents was amazing and a super unique experience. My candle came out amazing. The class was also byob so we enjoyed drinks with our candle making experience. You also get a discount of candles after the class so I got an amazing candle before leaving. I have been twice for the candlemaking class and I highly recommend it. It's a lot of fun and you surprise yourself with the scents that you end up choosing. I ordered a Thymes diffuser on November 30 which I have never received. Tracking indicates that it couldn't be delivered on December 5. There is no reason for that since my house is easily accessible from the street. After that, it just disappeared. Before calling Candles Off Main, I spoke with my postmaster who had no idea what happened to it. Since then, I have called and spoken with Jenny several times; but she will not return my money until they receive the item back. Well, it is now February 12, and I have done all I can do. If you're looking for some great scents and decorative candles or other home accessories you can't go wrong. They've recently moved (and changed ownership) to RT 2 in a small strip center next to Chevy's so it's a lot more accessible now and they've done a really nice job on the decor in the store. I've always loved their Trappe candles and they have a ton of other brands plus diffusers and virtually anything else. The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions. The only downside (if you can call this a downside since it's Annapolis) is that it's a little pricey. Well worth it, in my view. read more

Something is off here. I've ordered from this store online in the past and service was top notch. Now, it's a far cry from that. I placed an order on October 14, and my credit card was charged. It's October 25 and I have not received any of the items I ordered. The day after placing the order, I received an email that a couple of the items were back ordered and would ship soon. They did not ship the items they did have in stock, and no follow-up email was sent to let me know that one of the out-of-stock items was never received and nothing has been shipped. I sent them an email and did not receive a response. So, I called. Out of the 3 items I ordered they have 2 ready to send but have not sent them. 1 of the items (a $40 item) is not in stock and they are not sure when it will be received; however, they charged my card the day I placed the order. Hmmmm. I'm not feeling good about this shopping experience. read more
