Wow! This is one of the largest outdoor shopping centers I've been to besides an outlet mall. There is such a variety of shopping and dining options. There is a Barnes and Noble as an anchor store. The one by me is long gone. The Best Buy here is now vacant. They have many good food options. We were here for the Savor Bowie event. Seemed like 100+ vendors were lining the Main Street. Still, lots of of free parking option available in the back lots. Stores don't open until noon on Sundays from what I noticed. Many restaurants didn't have breakfast options except First Watch, of course. read more

You can tell that this place came into existence during the outdoor mixed used retail craze of the early 2000s. You can find one of these in just about any neighborhood or city. They all look like cookie cutter examples from the original. The only difference, the stores held within. This location does seem to be fairing well when compared to other locations. Obviously not as good as outlet malls, but still holding its own. I was surprised by the amount of stores, but the lack of foot traffic. I came on a Sunday and there was hardly anyone here. Those that were coming were running into a single store and heading out. It doesn't seem that far fetched to have an area like this be busy. But I think that most people are straying away from shopping centers like this. The mix of stores didn't really compliment one another and if you wanted to go to other stores in the center you have to go away from the town center portion. I am sure that when it is warmer this is a more vibrant place, but places like this aren't that magically in the colder months. read more

I'm always in bowie but today I fell in love because I was going to get a salad from California Tortilla they have the BEST FOOD ever!! ... and Bowie for the Summer has a Car Show!! Every Sunday!! I'm BIG on Car Shows and so I love how they are slowly but surely making more and better eateries in and surrounding the town center and putting Quality Bakeries several have been black owned which is niice.& overall doing for the Bowie area!! That way you don't have to go all the way to Virginia you can just come to your local area!! I hope they keep updating the store , eateries and just the area in general giving everyone a place to lounge read more

Went to the Town Center this weekend to check out the 2021 Savor Bowie Fall Food Wine and Music Festival, that was taken place, they had a lot of vendors and entertainment, tons of food stands, and different food trucks. They had activities setup for the children. There were lots of people there, walking room was shoulder to shoulder, not really alot of social distancing going on, some persons were not even wearing masks due to the event being held outdoors, so needless to say I was only there for a hot minute. read more

Nice town center to go to for a stroll. In my opinion the shopping options could be better. Please take that statement with a grain of salt because I'm more of an online shopper. The closing of the food court some years back was concerning because one of the best soul food spots used to be there. There are definitely some quality cheap eats here which keeps me returning. I've been coming to this plaza ever since before high school. It's been so long, I don't even remember exactly when it was built, but it holds nostalgic value indeed. One really convenient thing about it is that while it is a big plaza, it's less than five minutes from some other great plazas: both of them are right off of 301 and have Target and Walmart respectively. It's also right near a huge park: Allen Pond Park. Bowie Town Center is in a prime location that is accessible to many nearby conveniences. The stores in BTC seem to have gotten better over time, as it now has great stores to shop for clothes like Express and Rue 21, and grand food to eat like Heavenly Sent Cupcakery and Ya Mon! I do admit, I miss Old Navy with their rather common deals and Dairy Queen... that ice cream place is hard to come by! There's also a Five Below, thrift store and a gym! With the wide variety of stores and restaurants to choose from (even a couple of happy hours such as Red Robin) and calming music playing along the main strip, I would say this place generally has everything you need. If not, what you do need is very close by. read more

Went here a little more than a week ago in search of a dress to wear to a wedding as a guest. The "formal" wear section looked like it had been raided by small children, no petite dresses AT ALL for those of us who are vertically challenged, plus the exact dress I saw at a Ross clothing store an hour earlier was more than $100 more here. Same dress, same brand. I saw a lovely jumpsuit on a mannequin and after shuffling through the rummage sale, I asked the ONLY store associate I saw after walking the entire first floor (aside from one makeup counter lady) where to find it. I said I've checked every rack, are jumpsuits in a special section? She replied, which one? I said the one I am pointing to, the only jumpsuit in the display. She asked, are you sure you checked all the racks? Me, yes, that's why I am asking. Her, then we don't have it. For real? Haven't shopped in a Macy's in 10+ years. I've always liked Bowie Town Center stores are stores you know what you like and what you don't so do you ....but ---yup always a but and here it is ...for the management of the shopping complex -these are things that are just unacceptable and avoidable-trash and litter always an issue each time I go here the litter pick up never seems to be done --not sure if management is responsible in totality for all the SF or just certain areas -Macys which I often frequent entering the side nearest to the road that leads out to the other little shopping center where 5Below is--always litter central looks bad -trash and litter at an entrance always a bad first impression when overall the area is nice -please have a senior level responsible maintenance person do many many inspections daily all areas for litter and trash aesthetics are important-they really are -and when it's overlooked--- in particular in a diverse area -it's often perceived as not caring about a particular "class" of patrons -instead of just an overlooked simple maintenance item -and of course if any particular store is responsible for their own exterior maintenance-tell them I said step your game up read more

I'm still relatively new here, so excuse my naivete, but I hope Bowie Town Center sticks around! People on yelp mention this place sinking into "decrepitude" but I didn't get a run-down vibe here whatsoever. Of course, we moved here from downtown Los Angeles, so my definition of run-down has a much lower outer limit, but even then, this place is clean with a cozy feel on the main street area. And did I mention parking?! Again, coming from LA where all parking is metered or for-profit parking structures, this is great. Free parking, everybody! Anyone with growing kids can appreciate the several options here for dressing (and shoeing) them: The Children's Place, Crazy 8, Payless, and... I know there's at least one more store within a quarter mile! Any departure from the more cheaply made kids clothes at other mass retailers is welcome for me. The only restaurants I've hit up are Noodles and Co. (I wasn't very keen on it) and the Olive Garden, which was a good experience. I know there are other options but I haven't checked them out enough yet. For what I have experienced and explored, especially as compared to what I was used to before moving here, I'm a fan of Bowie Town Center. read more

I like shopping here Though its not my first choice as far as a mall to hang out at and do some shopping with friends, its still a good place to go when I want to be "in and out" and get what I need. Its an outdoor mall with a lot of nice department stores, the food court is decent (I really like the Cheese Steak place there) and its surrounded by some pretty good restaurants. Walmart and Best Buy are right around the corner from it to. Just don't ever actually count on parking outside of the stores because those spaces stay taken most of the time. I tend to drive around the mall because people always drive slow when driving through it, looking for parking spaces. It also really annoys me how they have those consistently open spaces for the Security vehicles yet they hardly ever park there! read more

I honestly didn't even know ignorance at this level existed. Myself and my students whom have Autism and Intellectual disabilities went into the food court. We purchased food, We sat down, and conversed. I was flagged over by the local security. Apparently my students, (whom the security admitted "couldn't help it) were being too loud. We introduced the students to the staff, and later they were talking to their managers. After we were about to leave, I had a word with one of the managers. I told them "You know, it's hard enough taking these kids anywhere, but to be treated like this?" He retorted "I sympathize with you and I...--" i just had to cut him off, "Anything before the "But" doesn't matter. Imagine if this was your child." I had to leave, as I couldn't handle being in the presence of the ignorant manager any longer. All in all, this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in Bowie Town Center, or anywhere with my students. I've been frequenting Bowie Town Center for lunch and community trips for two years now. I hope management sees this and responds! As I can say that this place is NOT disability friendly. read more

I will say that when in this area that many of the town centers must be designed by the same people because they all look alike. Not a hit but when I am in either the Laurel or Bowie town centers I have to get my bearings to remember where I am going and which one I am in. Still this is a nice town center and always kept clean. It is not as large as some of the others but looking on the bright side it is not much walking and spending you will be doing. Parking can be a bit tight and most times it is just better to park behind the stores of the town center instead of in the front of the various stores. There are places to eat but the selection is small in my opinion but this place is surrounded by a multitude of eateries you can checkout to fuel you up pre or post shopping. There seems to be more festivals at this one compared to others during the warmer months. read more

I had no idea Bowie Town Center had so many amazing restaurants and shops! I have friends who live in Bowie but had somehow never had a chance to visit previously. We stopped here on our way to Rehoboth Beach for Memorial Day Weekend and were delighted to find so many great restaurants to choose from. We were down to BJ's or Longhorn Steakhouse and decided to go with BJ's since I'm from California and it's a California thing :) I would love to visit Bowie Town Center and spend more time there in the future - it definitely seems like a very convenient place with tons of shops and restaurants to choose from! read more

All things considered, Bowie Town Center gets 3.5-4 stars from me. It's got a decent selection of stores, from moderate department stores (Macy's, Sears) and other anchors (Best Buy, AC Moore and some others). The biggest thing that sucks about coming here is if it's cold or starts to rain, seeing as it's an outdoor mall. It's not scenic like Georgetown or a nice waterfront area like it would be in Florida and warm. You go here for one reason-to shop. Not for the adorable scenery. I would consider this place mid level, as we were able to get some things at Victoria's Secret, Express, Macy's, Charming Charlie, you get the point. There was also a Yankee candle store, tea place, etc. Enough to get something for everyone on your list for the most part. In the front of the plaza there was a decent "food court" with plenty of smaller places to grab a bite while shopping and other places to actually sit down and make the destination for a reservation if such was your goal. In the back there were smaller stores along with some larger places, but nothing you would typically find in a mall. Off the top of my head I remember an AC Moore but the rest were obviously none too memorable. One thing that is worth noting here is that people are vultures with parking. There are plenty of lots that require you to walk maybe 100 yards to the stores-oh my god-but people will hunt people down to get the spots directly in front of the stores (the angled parking spaces). I honestly don't recommend even trying to get these spaces without a handicap sticker on a crowded day. Not worth it. read more

When this first opened it was like a mecca. Over the years it slides deeper and deeper into decreptitude. Stores are leaving left and right with the most recent exodus of Bed, Bath and Beyond that moved all the way to Gambrills. The food court used to be hustling and bustling with lots of choices. Now, there's hardly anything in there. The stores are all stuff you'd see in a second rate mall. The restaurans are all mass market chains. It's anchored by a Macy's on one end and a Sears on the other. Barnes and Nobel (in the the center) is the bright light and even that's not quite bright enough. My guess is that the shopping center has another 5 years, max, until they turn it into something else. read more

That aside, I go to Bowie Town Center when I'm visiting family and need to go shopping (yes, that is a need...right?). It has a bit of everything I like to go to. A bookstore, a chipotle, an old navy, cheap shoes. It's basically a mall, but outdoors, which I sort of like. I get to go shopping without feeling like I'm cooped up in a stuffy mall. I actually get to breathe fresh air in between stores. There's a lot of stuff here, so I'd say one stop shopping for all the people who have completely different needs but came here together. This place is kept up well and looks nice. It's always clean when I've been here. read more

Not a fan of this Town Center after having been to the Annapolis and Waugh Chapel Town Centers. In comparison, this one has a much more sketchy clientele, less shopping choices, a crappy food selection, and a confusing layout. I frequent it because of how close I work to it, so it's not like I'm judging off of one visit. Actually, how close I work to it is about the only reason I'd choose it over one of the other two. That said, I also work close to the Waugh Chapel Town Center, and it's vastly more appealing than the Bowie one. Granted, it's newer, but still. It's got better food choices, better stores (including the IMax), and the area has generally a much safer feel to it. Parking here is a huge hassle, by the way. We're lucky to get a spot close to our food place of choice on a weekday afternoon. read more

After getting rained out of 6 Flags the boyfriend and I made an unplanned trip here. Of course being an outdoor shopping center it was still very wet, but it was still a fun trip. First time for both of us and we were very pleased to see the variety of stores, interacted with very friendly, helpful employees at every store we visited, even had some amazing lunch at 5 Guys. The Bowie Town Center is the city's main shopping area. This place could be easily missed even though it is next door. It doesn't have the top name brand stores that the center has either. There is a Bank of America, a very nice home utility shop, one restaurant and a walk up counter food store as well. read more

I love this large spread out outdoor mall! Reminds me of the awesome one in Maumee, Ohio (you'd never think a tiny town like that would have such a cool outdoor mall!). It has a decent variety of stores, and is nice to walk around on a warm, sunny day. Bowie Town Center is an okay place to shop. It's relatively quiet and they have some name brand stores. I don't really go there for their anchor stores Macy's or Sears. What keeps me interested in going to Bowie Town Center is there pop-up shop. The pop up shop appears to give entrepreneurs or businesses that are just starting out an opportunity to sell their wares. Today as I was there I popped into the pop-up shop. There are various vendors inside a storefront. Great idea great opportunity. If you get a chance to stop in, please stop by. There are some unusual vendors; there are also some interesting and tasty treats. I bought a piece of cake from the table Something Sweet. She had about six different types of pound cake at $4 a slice or chunk. I tried a five flavor pound cake! She allows you a try before you buy sample. After my sample I said I might have to call the police on you for elder abuse because I know your grandma is up under that table cooking this delicious cake! You could taste all five flavors in that pound cake. There was also people selling some women's clothing, skin care products, essential oils and other natural products. I bought some jewelry, as well. There was also a young lady selling various unique flavors of cake pops. I bought 2 - pumpkin spice and Jamaican rum. I believe in supporting those who are adventurous and trying to step out and build their businesses. I don't know how the cake pops taste quite yet but I will add to this post once I taste. I believe the pop-up shops are only on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays. You may want to stop on by but if the Something Sweet Table is in there, you are going to definitely want to get a piece of that cake. read more

I'm a BTC lover all the way. I lived in Maryland for four years within walking distance of this charming center. Flaws and all, I just adore it. I live in California now but sometimes I find myself missing the BTC. I love the facades, the small selection of stores. Macy's, Old Navy, Children's Place, Chipotle, Barnes and Noble. I even worked at the Barnes and Noble, once upon a time. I should leave a review for the Macy's, for it's awesome lingerie selection alone. Speaking for well endowed goddesses, it's spectacular to find so many great bras reasonably priced. Especially during sales. And on a beautiful Maryland day, there is nothing better than strolling around this center with ma bebes. read more

Four stars because there is no other place like this in Prince George's County which is pitiful and sad. As of this writing, Prince George's County is reportedly the wealthiest African American-majority county in the United States. This is the best shopping center The County can come up with. This leave its residents schlepping to Tysons or Annapolis or Columbia or Georgetown/Chevy Chase on a regular basis - good thing the residents reportedly have so much money - how else to afford the gas money it takes to travel to these places on a regular basis?! Back to where I started: the town center remains clean, well-kept, and some okay stores (unlike what happened to the Cap Center at The Blvd). The town center on its own is a 3 but given there's no other place like it nearby, I'll give it a 4. It's a good place to stop by in a pinch, but if you know some of these stores like I do, you will notice the inventory is not the same as some of their other stores in other areas. I will leave it at that. However, despite all of this, I say keep up the good work BTC, and do all you can to not turn into the Cap Center at The Blvd. read more

Well we stopped here to get me a pair of Nike for my feet. Yep got me a pink pair so cute and comfortable to my feet. I'm ready to walk, jog, and Zumba the night away in these new kicks. This was my first time coming to Bowie Town Center it wasn't too bad. Maybe next time we will have more time to let me browse through the stores to see what I like. Bowie Town Center's okay, although I'm admittedly more of a fan of indoor malls than outdoor ones. This is a fine outdoor mall, which is set up as a street with modern stores, the food court and a few restaurants, and Sears and Macy's as its anchors. I didn't find anything to be particularly special or unique about it compared to other outdoor malls, but it's fine. read more
