I once again voiced my concerns and disappointment almost one month later. Thank you Fernando Llados Jr for finally hearing me and for making me feel like a valuable new customer and resolving my issues and concerns. I was ready to cancel and suffer the consequences before he called me. So I rescind my first review and will give 4 stars.

ADT is one of the worse companies I have ever done business with. I have had to have them come out…read moreon two occasions and got terrible business both times. First with the service department when calling in then with the service man. The second time I asked them to come out and fix my service since neither the front or back door alarm was working and the key pad wasn't even working. They expected me to work on it while they walked me through it. I explained that I am seventy years old and had no desire to try to be the service man. I wanted someone to come out and fix the problem. I spend a lot of money for the last two years for the service. They were supposed to set me up for service and was told it would cost $59. They said it would be on Saturday. Saturday I got a phone call saying they were going to walk me through fixing it myself. I again explained I wanted a service man to come out and fix the problem. I was scheduled for Tuesday. The man came out and worked on the back door and then told me the problem was fixed and started to leave. I caught him in the driveway and had to get him to come back in because the front door still didn't work. He fixed it. Then I got a bill for $190 for the service call. Not the$59 I had originally been told. I have turned them in to the Better Business Bureau for their terrible service.

Elderly customers beware - predatory contract tactics…read more Vector Security has shown my family exactly how little they value elderly customers. My in-laws are in their 80s and living on a fixed income. They have one year left on their contract and are moving. When we contacted Vector to explain the situation, we were basically given an ultimatum: * Pay around $600 to cancel (essentially being forced to pay out the rest of the contract in one lump sum), OR * Move the service to the new house and be locked into a brand-new 3-year contract. No reasonable middle ground. No senior consideration. No flexibility at all. In my opinion, this is predatory and unethical, especially toward elderly customers who are simply trying to downsize and live within their means. Vector is fully aware they're dealing with people on a fixed income and still chooses to trap them in either a large fee or another long-term contract they don't want and didn't ask for. We asked about alternatives: * Could we transfer the remaining year to someone else? * Could we downgrade to a cheaper plan for the last year? * Could they reduce the fee given the circumstances? Every answer was basically no. The message was clear: pay up or sign another long contract. This experience has completely destroyed any trust we had in Vector. If you're considering them--especially for aging parents or grandparents--ask very direct questions about what happens if they move or their situation changes. Based on how my in-laws have been treated, I would strongly recommend avoiding Vector Security and choosing a company that doesn't exploit loyal, elderly customers with rigid, one-sided contract traps. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY- BEWARE.

Had a great meeting at Symspire to plan the low voltage system (entertainment, internet, security…read moresystem, etc.). I have to admit I was a little surprised that it did not for one moment feel at all like a sales pitch. Greg explained the various options, and asked us what we were interested in. When we indicated we didn't want a particular feature he acknowledged and moved on to the next item for consideration. Along the way he explained all the different options and features, and made suggestions about the path we should take. In several instances this included him asking questions and then suggesting there was no need for us to spend money on a particular feature. We actually enjoyed the meeting very much, as not only was there no pressure but Greg was very personable and friendly. We had a great time with great conversation, and I left feeling confident that our system will be planned and installed well. This obviously was just the planning meeting, but I'll be sure to update my review as soon as our system is installed and we have a chance to put everything to use. But so far we are very happy to be working with Symspire for the tech features of our home.

And if something is wrong and you need help usual wait times are 1.5 weeks - not days. Because my fire alarm not working at all, I asked if I could be a priority - Kyle (guy with Sympshire) continually repeated "As I said that's our first available." Their cost for monitoring is well above the norm for this area. Nothing on my $$$ keypad told me any of my smoke detectors were not working so when my fire alarm recently went off and my downstairs filled with smoke, I'm scrambling with my phone to call the monitoring station only to get re-routed to voicemail because it was after hours.
