So, I decided that my first consultation would be at Eyes of Texas. The entire staff is not only friendly but very informative. It was difficult to ask questions because everything was covered from the start. Dr. Wong is clearly extremely passionate and knowledgeable about his work. I immediately knew that he is who I would trust to take care of my eyes. My surgery was yesterday and I couldn't be happier with the process or results so far. I am really looking forward to the end of the healing process. My only regret is not doing this 10 years ago. I highly recommend that if you are considering getting LASIK surgery to visit Eyes of Texas and Dr. Wong. I was shown the operation room and a comment was made that there was a piece of equipment in there that looked like R2D2. I'm now convinced that Dr. Wong is the Yoda of LASIK. She told me Dr Wong was very good at spending time with his patients. She was right. He explained very thoroughly my options and what he suggested based upon my situation. This gave me confidence in my decision. Surgery was better than expected, mainly because his pre-op person did a great job explaining what to expect and being coached and encouraged by Dr Wong all thru the procedure. It's not easy going thru this but his consistent encouragement makes it 100% better. All the staff are professional, friendly and on it. I've already recommended them to friends. In short, there have been multiple errors over many months, and I am not seeing LSE own and correct these errors in a reasonable way. I see from other reviews that errors and money grabs are a common theme here. (1) We discussed a specific contact lens Rx in the office, and then the wrong contacts lenses were ordered. When I attempted to reorder, it took months and multiple calls to receive the correct lenses. (2) When I went to fill my glasses Rx, I realized it was the wrong Rx. I called them to correct it, and they said since 60 days had passed, I would need to come back in and pay another $75. I was never even handed a copy of the Rx at the appointment, otherwise I would have realized the error on the spot, and we could have fixed it. They attempted to fix it by putting a random "Add" on the glasses, but I don't use reading glasses. I have asked them to own and correct this error, but they have dug in their heels on charging me another $75. I can't get a new - and correct - Rx for that elsewhere. Thankfully I noticed the error, and then the second error with the Add, or I would have been out hundreds of dollars on glasses I couldn't use.

Also, the first time I went to this office, the optician's assistant (that sets things up and does a few tests before the doctor comes in) smelled so bad I could hardly breathe. I almost complained then but I didn't. I will not be going back there ever again.

I had to pay two more times for use of facility. I have been busy and distracted with my scoliosis pain and surgeries. As of now I still have cataracts and terrible night vision and blurry vision when looking down even during the day time. If I go back to howerton eye clinic I will have to pay yet another copay for visit plus whatever is needed in her opinion. Another procedure to correct her mistakes yet again, no thank you!! She takes the time to explain everything and address concerns. They use state-of-the-art testing systems that are so futuristic and accurate. I love technology. I seriously have never had an eye exam like this before. The technician (Alejandra) who assisted was professional, kind, and caring just like Dr. Shah. The front end staff are phenomenal. Shoutout to Amy and Comet at the front desk. The office manager, Rubi is so sweet and her customer service is excellent. Speaking of excellent customer service, April is stellar! She helped me with insurance processing, picking out just the right frames, and getting me all the bells and whistles without any hardcore upselling (I despise going to places for an eye exam where they make you feel almost forced to buy frames from them).
