My friends say they will take me salmon fishing but I will need my own pair of waders. Where do you get those things from and how are they supposed to fit? I went to Bass Pro in Clifton Park because everybody told me to. I tried on a pair marked, "Youth & Women's Size 7." I couldn't even get them over my hips. I was horrified. I looked for help. A very nice staff member found the right size. He said a youth outfit was never going to fit me. Also, my normal shoe size may be 7 but we were going to have to go bigger. I usually don't show photos of myself in my reviews but the whole point is that with proper help I was able to get waders that fit. They ran over $90 so I don't know if that was a bargain. I had fun looking around the big store. I noticed shoppers brought their dogs. Next time, I'll bring mine. The waders look big on me and I'm a small person. Now, I can got fishing! This Bass Pro was amazing now I thought I already wrote to review, but I'm gonna do this again. I actually found it to be absolute breathtaking. It was a one level shop Bass Pro shop and it looked like when you walked. It looked like it went on forever, but it was just Big and Wfp level so everything was kind of like fit in there. It was nice and neat clean. Everything was beautiful. It was all arranged perfectly. It didn't look messy or overwhelming for me. It was amazing because everything that we've ever gone into. They've all been two and three floors but this one here was unbelievable great selection of products we found T-shirts to bring home to the kids. We found a really reasonable deal on baseball caps and they said you know that it was just from New York so that's why we had to get one cause we don't have one from this particular store and every time I travel with or without the other half I try to take and I'm always get him something from Bass Pro. But they were very very helpful to us because he walks really slow and we met people in the store that was super nice. One young man held the door open for my other half of the bathroom thank them for service and I made sure I told my mother how flight and wonderful they were and she's like wow thank you so much. The Customer people they went above and beyond. I was totally taken by the fact that they were so kind so patient we were looking for particular things we were able to find size extra large socks for a young boy size 14 shoes but we weren't able to find the shoes. Unfortunate. But they were super kind. They went out back and looked. They brought the guy out that runs at Dept. He looked for them. He finally found one package away in the back, which was awesome. I apologize. I don't remember his name we also got to see a nice display from one of the other sales people about the special kind of fishing and stuff to do and then check out. People were just top-of-the-line absolutely willing to help you no matter what I really feel like this is probably one of the better bass pros I've ever been into but also one of the most beautiful. read more

Whether you're a hunter a fisherman or some other type of liar, this is the store for you! I don't fit either of two of those categories but I'm still giving the full five stars. This is a great store to walk through just to observe the architecture and aesthetics. The design style is amazing. And then again, you might even find something that you don't necessarily associate with hunting or fishing. Maybe you've been thinking about buying everything you would need for a turkey frier at home. Or maybe there's a particular BBQ sauce you haven't been able to find elsewhere. Why not check out all their camping supplies and large selection of outdoor grills? Maybe you want to buy some clothes and start looking like an outdoors person. Just go check it out once. New store opened in summer 2025 this place is the mothership for anything fishing and hunting. The fishing gear selection is massive with every type of soft plastic lures, worms etc for the recreational fisherman. The Northeastern fish tank has several native species found in our waters. Tons of apparel from T shirts to sweaters and winter coats boots you name it it's probably here. I joined their membership which rewarded me with a $20 off same day purchase. It ties into a credit card but with the $20 I got several lures for bass and bluegills. read more

What a great store! I don't claim to be an outdoorsman but I had a lot of fun wandering through this place. I don't know if all BPS stores are like this one (is this a flagship store, or perhaps so large because Albany is the gateway to the Adirondacks?) but it is majestic. Towering interior details include stuffed and mounted animals such as bucks, bears, and moose; there is a large realistic mountainside waterfall tank stocked with fish (I am guess bass is one species but the only fish I really know are goldfish); lots of camping equipment and clothing, a gun section; a camping section; a boating section (real motor boats, not canoes and such though they have those too); and a fishing section. And probably more, but I couldn't take it all in. Imagine taking the hunting/camping section from Dicks and multiplying it by 10, and then adding things such as a candy area, photo opportunity areas, and even a sunglass (!) area... and you can kind of understand what this place is. Heck, I came with my family just to have fun here, sort of like an amusement park. It is a fun place to visit, and I am sure people who enjoy this stuff can benefit even more. Me? I got to see a lot of motor boats without receiving one high-pressure sales pitch and my kid enjoyed exploring them. What fun! read more

This shop is gorgeous! I'm not a hunter or an outdoors enthusiast but I really enjoyed exploring it. If I ever have a cabin one day I'll definitely come back here because they had the cutest, coziest dinnerware. The store has such a wide range of items and it was fun to check out the boats too. WHAT A STORE! So thankful we finally got one in the area! Absolutely loved the experience of shopping here with our littles. It's so beautifully arranged and EVERY employee was friendly helpful and a joy to speak with. There is something for everyone here and we left with far more than we planned to. The facilities were clean fun and easy to navigate. Super intuitive how it was arranged. Despite being very busy checkout was quick and efficient. Store was nice but every time I go to check out, the line is long. They open the second register and tell everyone at the end of the line to come to them. No regard for the people who have been waiting. This happens all the time. I've mentioned it to customer service but no change. Only store I've seen this done. All of the things I could buy online in a fancy store. Unless you are buying something like a boat, electronics, etc that you need to see, don't bother. The fishing section was not much bigger than Dick's. Store associate told me he had never heard of Megabass when I looked for it. They allow dogs, there were a million there ( not service dogs) and some guy's German Shepherd tried to attack me. Middle of summer and the live bait fridge was empty. Not worth the bother. Greeters at the door are nice. Selection is large. Checkout process and having people that can answer any questions were sparse. Spent no less than 20 minutes in line after person in front of me presented a ten dollar off coupon. Cashier didn't know how to get it to process correctly which in a new store is expected. What was lacking was complete lack of any support from anyone else. One cashier tried to help but had her own customers backing up. After ten minutes of watching the customer service desk personnel who weren't doing anything at all (even after the cashier walked over to them asking how to do it) they just watched. You would think one of them would offer to help or at least look to find her help. Nope. I finally left the line and walked over to a door that said office on it. Knocked and the door opened with a few people sitting around. Told them what was going on because at this point people were angry and leaving the items on the floor leaving. Guy thanked me and walked out to look around. Maybe called someone but still no one helped the cashier out. Complete failure on epic levels.
