Rusty "New"
Scott C.

Terrible place to shop. Management is aggressive and fail to take things like firearm safety seriously. Poor quality in both services as well as products. Don't buy rusty guns here. They refuse to fix the firearms storage so the vast majority of the firearms have been subjected to far more abuse than a "new" firearm should.

The store is huge. Think like this home depot for the outdoor lovers. They have fishing poles to fish inf boats. From A to Z for the outdoor they have it here. I came for their fishing department. Did I mention huge selections. I got poles and reel and fishing hooks and fishing lines. Etc. You got the point. For those of you do not know exactly what you want or what to look for get an associate as soon as you walk in. The store can be over whelm at times. But I love it because it is one stop shopping for me. I love the giant fish tank they have, good for the kids and me. Check it out this store is surely an adventure by itself.

Great store to explore where can find something you need but only drawback is no restaurant. Their excuse is it is attached to a mall but the food at the mall is not very good. I noticed some changes in apparel brands and enjoyed the fish tank.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out why Bass Pro Shops keeps sending me credit card applications. I am not a hunter or a fishing type person and I don't really look great in camo. Still, they want me as a customer. This really is an interesting store although I can't really find anything for myself here. My husband's uncle is an avid hunter and we can typically find him a nice gift at Bass Pro Shops that he can use while he's out stalking wildlife. Mostly, I go for the huge fish tank feature inside the store. I think it is really interesting to see and figured my daughter would enjoy seeing the fish in such a habitat. But, since we had to walk through the store that is covered in dead and stuffed animals she was a bit traumatized. Now, each time we walk past the section of the Katy Mills Mall where Bass Pro Shops is located, I have to help her cover her eyes and guide her blindly past the store so she doesn't see the heads of animals mounted on the walls inside and outside the store. This store is a destination for many in the Houston area though and very popular with people looking for ways to increase their enjoyment while hunting, fishing or camping. Very interesting items in the huge store with gift items for outdoor enthusiasts that don't mind the dead animals throughout the store. My daughter is not impressed though.

Fish tank, clean, bathrooms at the front, this is like Disneyland for dads lol and all outdoor enthusiasts. You can spend all day in here if you look at all products. Bottom line if you've never been to a Bass Pro Shop, you don't get out much, this place has EVERYTHING in the outdoor, fishing, hunting, camping, shooting, knifing, toys, bedding, home, lamps, candles kind of place and it's about the size of a rodeo arena. For fathers day... this is a perfect fit. This location is at the Katy Mills Mall, bathrooms in to the right and don't forgot try their Jerky and non-high fructose corn syrup bread and butter pickles.

"Redneck Party Cup" lol Another hilarious BPS find

Wonderful experience! The employees wanted to help me save money and wanted everyone to get what they need in their price zone.

The people that work here are incredibly rude. No customer service. Especially the old man in the front. -_- the store is cool though.

It's also where the workout machines are which is so cool! It's also covered. There are two rentable covered pavilions with a smoker/ grill and sink with water access. There are also smaller covered areas with picnic tables which are first come first served. It has a bathroom which was actually clean and nice inside. This is just one area of the park but there is a huge pond to fish, a large walking trail around the pond on the other side and I've only explored a portion of this park. My kids loved it. The pavilions are covered with ample seating, there's a nice playground nearby for the kids, and lots of open grass for games. The bathrooms are pretty clean and close by. There is also ample parking. We visited in mid October and while it was still pretty hot, the shade of the pavilion makes for a nice day out. We were able to play several games in the nearby grassy area - making sure to drink plenty of water! There are a few trees so it isn't totally open but large enough for group games. There's a ditch area further out that's pretty easy to retrieve balls and frisbees from if they go too far. All in all a solid picnic option!

Definitely wear tennis shoes or closed toe shoes here. The trails are a good mixture of dirt and then some parts are cement. Nice fishing spot as well. Catch and release only. Be careful letting smaller kids near the pond. I have seen a kid slip and fall in. He was okay and got out, but after seeing that I keep an extra eye on my kids if we want to get close to the pond. They have a sand volleyball court. Lots of walking trails. Even behind the trees where a retention pond is. They have covered pavilions with picnic tables and bbq pits. Also love that the playground is covered and kids can play in the shade. That's a MUST for Texas parks!

Super impressed by this park!…read more They've done a really great job with adding beautiful manmade waterfalls and such. The walking trail is very pleasant. FYI: the trail is paved and stroller accessible. On the way back, we took another trail which was dirt and had no issue taking the stroller on that as well. Nice playground for kids. There are bathrooms just past the playground. I initially thought they were closed because the gate had the lock still on it (in a locked position) but luckily, someone advised me that they were actually open. So, don't go by appearances and actually tug on the door! There are two relatively small parking lots that fill up quickly but there is also street parking available.

Burroughs Park is one of those places that makes you appreciate having great local parks nearby…read more It's huge and has a little bit of everything -- fishing ponds, multiple playgrounds for kids of different ages, long walking trails, and plenty of open space to just enjoy being outside. The playground areas are especially great for families because there are several scattered throughout the park, so it never feels overly crowded. The fishing ponds are also a nice touch if you want to slow things down and relax for a bit. It's a great spot for a weekend walk, letting the kids burn off some energy, or just getting some fresh air. The park is generally well maintained and there's plenty of room to spread out. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get pretty busy on nice days and parking near the playgrounds fills up fast. But overall, it's definitely one of the better parks in the area and worth the visit.

Lots of giant trees where squirrels like to play hide and seek with the dogs. There's a couple of wash stations outside of the dog park which comes in handy.

They have grills outside that you are allowed to grill anything you want on. We didn't catch many shrimp, but the owner was gracious enough to give us way more than we caught to grill up. We also brought our own hot dogs and drinks and had a blast. This place is very similar to the urban shrimp fishing spots in Taiwan that I would frequent whenever I used to visit as a kid. I will definitely be back! Looking forward to the next time.

Once we got in staff greeted us and instructions were kind of unclear so I had to reiterate a few times or prob more information. Or maybe I was really excited and I just didn't let them talk. I'm not sure.. We have to sign a waiver. And we had an hour to go fishing for shrimp. Besides shrimps, there are crab and crawfish in the makeshift pond. In case we were to catch anything they did have a grill outfront and had some spices and sauces for us to use on them. There is a bathroom on site. The pond area is indoors however there is no AC . We spend an hour fishing. We had a few close calls, but sadly did not catch anything. Their staff did offer us something afterwards but we were unable to take the offer as we had a prior commitment right after this. This was a nice experience, but you do have to understand that this is for experience not for a meal . And we went into this place knowing that. . Fishing for shrimp is very difficult. And , like fishing, you need a lot of patience.
