I try to stay away from chain restaurants or stores but this is one of my favorite ice cream shop. Parking is free but TINY. Spots are small, and you might get your car banged from other person opening their door. This place had indoor seating, their freezer had locks on them LOL I mean... you gotta do what you gotta do. They had lot of flavors than I remember so I tried some flavors. Even though I know how some of them taste already... you never know. The man that was working there was nice and efficient. Can't go wrong with that.

Nice to know that I can custom order an ice cream cake days ahead of time and pick it up at a designated time and day. I ordered a vanilla ice cream cake with chocolate cake on the bottom. It's a bit plain, but the options were pretty limited. I tried it today. It was actually pretty good. I like most ice cream cakes anyway so my standards on goodness are rather loose.

Hooray for Gold Medal Ribbon ice cream! Why? Because I like it and they serve it up well at this Baskin-Robbins. For reals, the ice was delicious. The "creamy vanilla flavored and chocolate ice creams and swirl in a caramel ribbon." (Baskin-Robbins, 2021) are a great combination of flavors and textures. Deep chocolate flavors, creamy vanilla, and sticky caramel simply hit the spot nicely. Although, I had to wait a bit because of previous customers, it was all good. I'm glad Baskin-Robbins is still around these days.

Accessibility: there are a few accessible/disabled parking spots here in the parking lot, but they are down in front of other stores, not in front of this one. There is also a ramp to get onto the sidewalk from there, but again, not in front of this store. The parking lot is also very tightly packed and small, so not the best in general. To enter the store it is a single pull door, very brightly lit inside, and air conditioned of course. There is seating indoor with movable chairs if you need, but no seating outside. Experience: the parking lot is way too small and at night it is kind of dangerous. There was a homeless man standing outside screaming and talking to himself then staring at a mom and two young girls walking by...it was very creepy. Please be safe if you come here at night and always watch your surroundings. Along with this, the store next door to Baskin-Robbins was playing insanely loud opera music outside so it was hard to hear anything else but road noise and very loud opera. Once I got inside it was much nicer than the outside. This store looks very clean and the seating looks comfortable. The employees were nice too. I had a scoop of Triple Mango and Blackberry and they tasted great!

I only order the Cappuccino Blast (no mochalatta chill as I had previously written). I'd describe it as an understated dessert or slightly extra frappacino (but not as sweet which is a good thing). Still great after all these years... Update- I went in recently and ordered a mochalatta chill. The server was like excuse me? I'm used to repeating myself in the age of masks. I said mochalatta chill! She said ok and went to go make my drink. Then I look at the menu, and saw the error of my ways. I was like ohhh, a cappuccino blast.. I thought I was at Cinnabon I guess.

I ordered a latte and neglected to tell them it was for here so I was given a paper cup, but they give real cups if you ask. The latte was good, and my friend bought a kitchen sink type cookie with chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nuts. It was warm and gooey good! Another friend tried the gelato and said it was very good. There are a few tables inside and tables out in front outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful San Diego weather. The decor and tables definitely gives you an old school Italian neighborhood vibe with Italian markets right next door. If I am in the neighborhood again, I would definitely come back here to try the gelato and/or a piece of an excellent looking lemon pie bar I spotted.

The decor and setting is cute and quirky, including cow sculptures hanging upside down from the ceiling. There were only a couple other visitors when we arrived, as it was near opening time. Our dishes took a whopping 35 minutes to be ready, and service was not very friendly nor helpful. Luckily, the music playing through the speakers added a nice vibe to the place, songs like Our House by Madness and Can't Fight This Feeling. We ordered the brunch pizza (with eggs cooked overeasy) and the breakfast flatbread which looked almost identical when served, as well as an iced mocha. The quality of the pizza was pretty average, and the eggs were slightly overcooked. The drink was really good, made fresh, with a smooth taste and a nice sweetness to it, the plastic cup coated in chocolate sauce. It tasted more like chocolate milk with a hint of coffee, which I personally enjoyed. They typically serve gelato here, but it would not be ready till almost two hours after opening time. So no milkshakes or cold desserts were available in the morning this past Sunday (no worries, Ghirardelli is just a block away). I appreciate the variety of menu items offered here. But they really should communicate online that their gelato's not ready till two hours into the day. If there's one thing that irks me about an establishment, it's failure to communicate appropriately. Even though our recent visit was somewhat disappointing, I still gave 3 stars, assuming this was an off day for them.

We stopped by recently and got incredibly lucky--there was no line in sight, so we walked right up to order! The Cookies: Gooey, Crisp, & Perfectly Balanced My wife decided to try a trio of cookies, picking out Snickerdoodle, Peanut Butter Reese's, and classic Chocolate Chip. They completely nailed the texture. Every single cookie hit that golden sweet spot--warm and gooey in the middle with just the right amount of crisp edge. What really stood out was the balance of ingredients. Chocolate Chip: Perfectly measured so you get sweet chocolate in every bite without feeling overwhelmed by chips. Peanut Butter Reese's: An absolute dream ratio of rich peanut butter to chocolate peanut butter cups. Snickerdoodle: Perfectly spiced, striking just the right "snicker-to-doodle" balance! Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the ice cream. I ordered a combination of Cookie Monster and Campfire in a single scoop. The portion size was remarkably generous--it completely filled up the small cup and delivered a fantastic mix of flavors. My wife went with a scoop combining Espresso Oreo and Mint & Chip, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, these were easily some of the best desserts we've had in a very long time. Whether you're a local or just exploring the downtown area, Milk & Cookies is well worth a visit.
