After the movie today, I walked in with my sons and asked for water...they told me that they didn't have water and suggested I buy a bottle. I asked her if she was serious and she said yes. I go to the carmel mountain baskin robbins all the time and they are SO nice & always have every selection with a free waffle cone with 2 scoops! The staff here is really nice and the place is clean as well. They have a great selection of ice cream and are very generous with scoop sizes. Favorite flavors personally include Oreo, strawberry cheesecake, and pralines & cream. read more

I ordered the sundae shake and it was pretty good. I was disappointed that it only came in one size and it was only 3/4ths full.

The staff here is always super nice and helpful. Some weeks I stop in 3-4 times . I feel so bad because I usually run in 20 minutes before closing. Yeah i'm that guy. They always keep smiling and don't seem to have an issue with that. Great selection as well. read more

I feel like this place is going down hill. EVERYTIME I come in it's always extremely slow service. I was just there today and was helped by a young lady who looked like she could be a manager and was just taking her sweet time while the other workers helped 2 more families while she was still on mine. I don't know why this location does not participate in the $1 scoop night other than the owners of this location believe that they have a "captive audience" being that they are next door to the movie theater. The prices are a bit outrageous too. I wouldn't bother ordering a birthday cake from this location. First, you had better be ordering 48 hours in advance, or NO dice. Then, they nickle and dime you to death on any little change you want to make. Change the icing color from the one offered in the picture book? $3 extra. Want a custom flavor of ice cream (not the pre-made molds they order that are ready to frost)? $5 extra. By the time you are done you need a second mortgage to afford the darn cake. Thanks, but I'll take my business up the street to the Scripps Ranch location were they are more than happy to customize their cakes for no additional cost. I don't get it? I walked into this Baskin Robbins on Veterans Day with my twin boys to request the complimentary scoop of camoflauge ice cream and small cone that had been advertised on national lists honoring Veterans on their day. I had planned to enjoy my complimentary cone, and purchase a cone for each of my sons. You can imagine my disapointment when the young lady at the counter told me that the Poway Road location (a franchise) was not participating in the event. I thought it was a poor choice for management to opt out of honoring Veterans like myself. I asked myself, was one small scoop of ice cream really too much to provide as a thank you for a veteran? Many merchants in Poway, and throughout San Diego county welcomed Veterans, providing discounts, or complimentary items (a complimentary movie was even available in Poway to honor us veterans). Needless to say, I left this Baskin Robbins, and the store lost out on my purchase for my sons. I spoke with a family member of another veteran outside the store, and shared my experience. The woman said she was angry, citing the fact that her father was a WWII Veteran, and Basking Robbins made the wrong choice, message being--you're not worth the price of one small ice cream cone. Mindful that the franchise rolled out their November campaign of camoflauge ice cream, with big sales so far, was it worth the loss of business from at least two Veterans? I'm hopeful Baskin Robbins will reconsider their way of supporting Veterans, and avoid what may be perceived as false advertising on a national level. When a franchise store chooses not to participate in a national campign, that is reflective of the retailer as a whole. Baskin Robbins, as the #1 ice cream retailer in the USA, a percentage of sales on one day in the month going to a non-profit is comendable; an in-person support one day a year is much better. San Diego county is home to the largest Veteran population in the U.S., and we have strong purchasing power. I wonder how many Veterans may read this, and think as I did...I've experienced better. I am a very nice person and it takes a lot for me to say something. I walked in with my family to get some ice cream for my son that had a bad day and wanted to give him a nice evening and fill my pregnancy craving. I have never in my life experienced the worst customer service until I came in here. The blonde girl that was "serving us" was very rude and impatient with us deciding our ice cream. My husband walked out of the store and I didn't know why he did but I continued with our order. While she was getting my son his scoop her ponytail was long enough to get into the other ice team tub. That was my first disgust. Then after getting my sons icecream she slammed it on the counter. That's when I lost it. I asked my husband why he walked out and he told me he heard her talking to the other employee about us saying "it's not that hard to pick a flavor". From the first moment walking in we received attitude and it felt like our presence was bothering her. If you don't want to work there then don't. We left without ice cream and went to cold stone to receive the best customer service and better Ice cream to also fill my pregnant craving and to fix my sons bad day. I will never go to any baskin robins ever again and I will for sure be letting everyone I know to not go to this location unless you would want Ice cream slammed in front of your face. read more

The ice cream is amazing as as it will ever get! Predictable as always. =) I am only giving it a 3 star rating because the service is REALLY REALLY slow. I don't think this business will be in business much longer 1 due to managers attitude and 2 due to the fact they have chosen to make their restroom non-public (not even available to customers). We stopped by Baskin & Robbins for some soft ice cream today for we had several pleasant experience there last year. However today will be our last visit given todays' experience. We ordered 2 cones and headed for the car to enjoy the soft ice cream out of the brisk breeze. We (mostly me) were upset for BOTH cones were not filled below about 1/2" (yes, 1/2 inch) beneath the top lip of the cone. I have NEVER had a soft ice cream cone from any company across the country or in an airport over many years where the cone was NOT filled from the bottom to the top. Very disappointing for value. Perhaps this is the new normal but was not the case at a competitor's store in CMR last week. Two customers are now lost just as spring gets here. read more

I've recently gone back to try out Baskin Robbins after a 6 month hiatus. I have to say the place is better than what I remember. The staff members are always nice and bring a smile to my face.
