I recently visited this location and to say i was disappointed is an understatement. The service was subpar but the manager was extremely unprofessional. I witnessed him belittle and degrade his employees who look no older than 16 years old. I heard him call an employee (girl) lazy and fat while she was only trying to do her job. He was very aggressive and loud and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't even want to order my ice cream anymore due to the distaste in management. The manager (owner?) clearly loves his job and gave us great suggestions to customize the design. He truly went above and beyond to make the perfect cake for my daughter's birthday. I love this little Baskin Robbins! It's clean, well kept, and in a nice quiet plaza although conveniently just off the main road. The manager here is the nicest and most personable and helpful. I called several baskin Robbins looking for tax crunch and he was so kind to accommodate my wants and he's a great salesman- I ended up walking out with two quarts, having intended to get much less. it was totally worth it though and I have no regrets. Tax crunch is one of my favorite ice cream flavors (it's the Kona coffee one with chocolate crackly ribbon and crispy bits that comes out March/April for tax season), I always reward myself with it for finishing taxes, although not every BR carries it. When I pulled up I saw some kids and their dad eating ice cream outside the store with their bicycles, it was the cutest thing and such a wholesome picture. And they were wearing the BR paper hats. Vaneet's still at it again!! This BR location has been my childhood stopover since elementary. One year later after my last visit before the pandemic, I took a step inside and saw that everything got renovated!! Rather than having a menu displayed, about two TV's are in place of it to show what's on the menu. He was such a great help today, and my aunt and I picked up the cake for my dad for Father's day. On the other hand, for to go, I got the Very Berry Strawberry and Non-Dairy Strawberry Streusel. Also bought Jamoca and Butter Pecan ice cream for to go as well. There is nothing at Baskins & Robbins that will make you love ice cream. The flavors are boring, not a ton of options either. Employees are not enthusiastic, and do not wow you away with service that will win you back. $3.58 for a small cone ice cream. Rite aid has the same cone for $1.99. Hi, Today's review is for the Baskin Robins (31 flavors) in the strip mall at the corner of Beach Blvd. and Rosecrans Ave. in the city of La Mirada. Kind of tucked in behind Polly's pies. As it happens, this Baskin Robins was having it's grand reopening today when we walked up. There was face painting, someone in an ice cream cone suit, a wheel to spin for prizes... you get the picture. Very cute! Upon entering, the change in Ownership/Management was very apparent! The manager actually greeted us as we walked in. He appears to be very nice and very proud of his new store! The store itself has changed in almost too many ways to count. Gone are the sour employees. They have been replaced with young people who actually looked like they cared and were having a good time. The seating was brand new and there was probably double (plus) the actual seats and tables there used to be. There are bright and cheerful window decorations. A brand new freezer section with ice cream cakes, prepackaged ice creams and many other goodies have been added. There is a cold soda refrigerator now in the back of the store and a new dipping station has also been added. Everything was clean, tidy, and appealing. I have to confess, today was banana split day for me. Oops, there went the diet! I chose a traditional one with vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream - with the usual pineapple, strawberry, and hot fudge toppings. Of course I had to have whipped cream and cherries. No nuts this time. The banana split was tasty and very well presented (see pic below this review). I was very pleased with what I was served and the speed with which it was made. The server was friendly and got my order made exactly as requested. I thought the price was very fair for what you received. YUM! All in all, if you have not been to this Baskin Robins in a while or you quit coming because of the poor service of the prior owner, maybe it is time you gave it another try. I Will NEVER come to this Establishment AGAIN. Lazy Young workers are whom they Employ. This is the first time my husband & I have come here. We were close by waiting for our kiddo to finish practice & wanted a sweet snack. When we walked in there was one worker behind the counter helping several young kids... Did not make sense why two workers were standing in the back room door way looking at us & DID NOT offer to take our order. So we waited patiently, Noticing that a few tables were available near the Entrance Dirty with Napkins & Ice cream drops. The other tables were pushed back & had signs on them. Obviously Not usable. After the young kid customers left we were asked what we would like from young female worker Reianna..... Then a young man & a large family came in after a few minutes Finally another young worker Paolinna / Paulina ? came out to help.....she helped the young man. The large family was still waiting, but at this point I couldn't see the ice cream case to choose what flavor I wanted because they now crowded the case. No one was 6 feet apart & the workers Were NOT Enforcing Safe Social Distancing. I DID NOT get to order anything because they DID NOT have the two flavors I ALWAYS get from my local Baskin-Robbins. Nutty coconut or Cherries Jubilee. At this point I was Done. When at the cash register to pay for the Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae my husband ordered, TWO MORE young WORKERS, Chris & another Female came out of the back (couldn't see her name tag). So now we see 4! Four workers were there the whole time IN THE BACK Making Customers wait for No reason. Seriously You would think for everyones Safety they would have ALL 4 Come out to help IDK Customers. So the review based on the Fudge Brownie Sundae would be 0 Zero stars if possible because it was the Smallest serving we have ever got at Baskin-Robbins, Ridiculous!!! $6.99 for two of the Smallest, Smaller than kids scoops Ever! Aswell as the ice cream was very soft while she was scooping it , looked almost melted before she put it on the Brownie ! I Truly Hope the Owners see how these young people sealed the deal for me to Never come back to support this Establishment. So I have been going here for a short while. Probably since the new manager has taken over. I would love to tell you his name. But I'm bad about that. Anyways he is always there. He does gripe about the parking. But that's because other customers park where we should park going to Baskin Robbins. I was actually taken here by a couple of friends. They go there often. And almost religiously on the 31st. That's the day they have any scoop of ice cream for $1.50. So on that day it usually gets packed. This is the #1 Baskin Robbins in Orange County. The new manager told me. He worked really hard to make it. I was there the day he found out. I thought he was going have tears. The way he was talking. About his effort. This store is very clean. Everything in its place. When it slows down the manager or one of his employees is cleaning the tables and floor. Being an ice cream parlor. You can imagine how many kids come through here. Yet they manage to keep this place very clean. The ice cream here is wonderful. They keep a minimum of 31 flavors at all time. Now they do have more than 31. They sometimes have flavors in the back that are not as popular. But have regulars that like them. So he keeps some for them. You have to call in advance so he can pull it or them out of the deep freezer in the back. A lot of time it might be the flavor of the month. Which he orders extra due to high demand from previous times. But he has to change to a new flavor on the next month. He goes out of his way for regulars. Now I want to say this is a family ran store. His mom works there also. So it feels like a mom and pop store even though it's a chain. I believe she makes most of the cakes. But she works on the front also. She is a very nice lady. And really enjoys the kids. When I go in. She is usually talking to the people and kids. It's a very warm feeling. You are not just a number here. They get to know you. On Tuesday it's family night. And they have their ice cream at a discount price. It's very popular that I stay away that day. Very busy and full of families. Now ice cream wise. I am a vanilla base guy. There are a lot of flavors I like and some I love here. And of course there are a lot that I don't like. Due to that they are more of a chocolate base. Yes yes I know how much everyone else loves chocolate. So that's great for everyone else. Right now I'm on a Pralines and Cream fix. They carry the old favorites. And they also carry the new favorites. Like mocha. Yes coffee lovers they have something for you. So it's not just pure scoops of ice cream and ice cream cakes. Which are really good. Maybe you just want a shake. They got that also. And you have all those flavors to choose from. Plus whatever you want to add to it. From thief add on area. Or maybe you want an old fashion banana split. They got you covered. Maybe with a new twist. Instead of chocolate or strawberry you want to use cookies and cream and butter pecan. They got you covered. Extra whip cream. They got it. Nuts no problem. Allergic to nuts. Tell them. No problem. Covered in caramel. Of course. Hot fudge sure. How much? All covered. With or without a cherry your choice. You won't leave here unsatisfied. And at the of your order . When you pay he gives you coupons. Yes! For the next time you come. It will be cheaper. BR is my favorite childhood ice cream shop. I still come here every now and then. This location is tucked in a secluded plaza behind Polly's Pies. The staff are all pleasant and prompt with your order. The shop is small but, they are awesome with social distancing and the workers wear masks and gloves. You can't go wrong with the many options. Whether you're craving a sundae, banana split, ice blended drink or just a good ol' scoop of your favorite flavor. There are plenty to choose from. My 3 faves are cookies n cream, rainbow sherbert, and pistachio almond. But, they're all good. If you're wanting a caffeine boost, the cappuccino blast will definitely give you a perk me up.
