Feel like it's time to give them an updated review! I've been here many times over the years, and service has been pretty good now. I don't typically go out of my way to get Baskin Robbins now that there are so many ice cream shop options out there in town. I've gone here recently to pick up my birthday scoop, which I have been doing for several years. The store is on the older side, not the cleanest appearing, but I don't typically linger around long. Though I love Baskin-Robbins, I don't frequent Baskin-Robbins very often anymore because the prices have gone up to $4.99 for a single scoop cup or cone. I do love the ice cream and large variety and selection. One of my favorites is Rocky Road, which I was getting for my granddaughter, and I wanted to try the Butter Pecan. Since I am driving, I had to get my single scoops in a single cup. I was disappointed when I got home, because the ice cream scoop wasn't even a complete scoop, with air space forming an incomplete round scoop ( underneath the top). Not my money's worth. As far as the taste, the butter Econ has a really good creamy sweet flavor with plenty of pecans. It's a new favorite for me now. The rocky road is always good, nice and rich. There's plenty of parking in the lot and tables to sit inside and enjoy your ice cream out of the heat. read more

My order was a little complicated so when he got to Baskin-Robbins, he handed them the phone and I spoke to one of the employees there. Pre-ordered a Valentine's Day themed cake here for my galentines. This location offers a 24-hour preorder compared to a nearby location that does 48-hour. There were limited selections at this location, but they offered the cake that I saw online which made me very excited. It was around $22 for a small cake, which is a bit steep but I was willing to pay since it was such an adorable cake. I do know that they offer lower prices for other non-themed cakes around the same size. The cake itself was perfect! I added a special note and asked for them to add a winky face, which they did perfectly. It was the best ice cream cake i've ever had, the frosting is super delicious. We went here while laundry was done just to browse the selection...lol. I said I wasn't going to buy anything but the employee behind the counter was so sweet she offered me as many samples as I want. The cold brew coffee one was the best for what it's worth. Great customer service and the food is good for Baskin Robbins. They have some thanksgiving special flavor now with cornbread, sweet potato, cranberry sauce...euh no thanks. It was super sweet. There's a regular homeless dude who comes around the employee warned us so just be careful I suppose. That's all I can say as far as ambiance goes lol. It's in a strip mall. I think companies, restaurants, and businesses should be given the benefit of the doubt - especially employees who work at the store, and it's not their fault, but I will NEVER go to this Baskin Robbins again. How can you completely not have a cake that was pre-ordered? We had ordered a 55 dollar cake for my husband's birthday, when we came to pick it up, there were only two cakes there, and none of them were the right cakes. A refund isn't good enough, and I know I sound like a Karen, but this is his special day, and you could've offered something more than that. Whoowee I'm mad. Baskin Robbin's ice cream is still very much worth it. The folks that work at the Elk Grove location are quick to serve their customers and there is more seating than at other shops. I see that some people choose other chains simply because BR is an older establishment but their ice cream is still delicious. I don't recommend getting BR's ice cream at the grocery store. I ordered the "Petals and Pearls" ice cream cake two weeks before I needed it. I set the pickup time for the earliest I could which was 11:30am. I get there and the workers can't find my order. They claim I was at the wrong Baskin Robbin's but I showed them my receipt with the address I ordered it from and was at the correct one. They look some more and call a manager but still can't find my order. They said because I placed it on the computer they didn't get a receipt for it, making it seem it was my fault. I had already paid so they said they can make the cake but it would take 2 hours which I didn't have time for. They then offered me a cake they had in the freezer already done which was a Oreo cake in the size I needed but was not the flavor or the design I wanted. They said I could either have a refund or take the Oreo cake I didn't want. I asked for half of my money back and the cake because it wasn't even the flavor I wanted and they denied me. They offered me a pint of ice cream that was correct to go with it but I was still stuck with a Oreo cake I didn't want. In the end I had to take what I could get because I still needed a cake. I won't be ordering from here again it was a terrible experience and the staff wouldn't understand my side of it. read more

Just came here for a quick dessert, I got the watermelon sorbet or sherbet- I didn't spit out any seeds ;) and a scoop of daiquiri ice, my husband got two scoops of daiquiri ice! I have a number of complaints regarding this Baskin Robbins. I recently went here to purchase the Stranger Things Funko pop basket Robbins exclusive which was some what limited but this location had it in stock. To begin, I called ahead to ask how they were going to handle the release and the person I spoke to informed me that it was one per person. When I arrived there was one person ahead of me and he purchased 3 which surprised me cause the person I spoke to told me it was one per person. Secondly, the funko pop exclusive was double the price at $29.99 when suggested retail price was $12.99. I assumed it was standard price until I went to another Baskin-Robbins which was selling the Funko pop for $12.99. Once I found out this location was over charging, I called them back to ask why and they told me "because we are a franchise we are able to price at what we want" I explained to them that I did not know that and asked if I could get a refund and the person spoke to the manager and confirmed that I would be able to go return what I purchased for a full refund. The next day I went to return the item and the manager denied my request saying all sales were final. I explained to her that the person I spoke with said it would be ok to return but she was not having it. At this point I was extremely pissed off because they lied to me on the phone and made me waste my time driving to the location to not give me a refund. I went ahead and called corporate, explained to them the situation and I later got a call from the manager of this location to tell me it was ok to return the item. This location doesn't even deserve to have a star. The fact that I had to go above and beyond for a refund I was promised is terrible customer service and not the way a business should be ran. We didn't want a mound of ice cream last night; it was warm and we just wanted a reasonably sized scoop. I had forgotten there was a Baskin Robbins near us, so I Yelped ice cream and we made our way to this location. It's your usual Baskin Robbins but the good thing is they had three servers working. Usually you find one or two tired souls slinging ice cream orders as fast as they. I hadn't been to a B-R in quite sometime but it didn't fail me. There was plenty of seats and tables to sit at and plenty of servers behind the counter. I would love to refrain from giving a company a bad yelp. However, I'm honestly upset and angry. They don't deserve a star at all for how they handle their business. We bought a cake through this Baskin Robbin for a birthday party, and was guaranteed a perfect cake. We all know not everyone will do a perfect job, but at least somewhat decent and presentable. Our cake was not and we were really disappointed. We called to address our concerns and they couldn't even accept the fact that they messed up a cake. There were cracks on the cake and everything was crooked. Don't tell us our design and simple and easy to do and end up doing a bad job. I spent $43 on a small ice cream cake and was not going to accept $3 off our NEXT cake purchase. They made it really hard on themselves on how they would like to solve this for us. I asked for a new cake in replacement if it was possible to be done on time, or some sort of refund. They couldn't agree to any and offered $5 off our next cake purchase. Are you serious? Is customer satisfaction not your priority? It was brought to the owner's attention and we never got a call back. Not even 2 days after. We finally decided to email through their website and the owner offered us $22 back to the Visa card that was used to purchase the cake. It took 3 days for it to be taken cared of. What made me really upset is what had happened tonight when I came in for the refund. Initially, I came in to ask if I can just use my refund to get an ice cream cake and pay the difference. I came in and asked the worker and he said he's going to call the boss to confirm if that is possible. The worker asked for my case number from the email and I didn't even give them the last 3 digits yet then tells me our $22 was already claimed by someone name "Justin" in cash because the worker did not know how to process a card refund. I don't even know a Justin and how do you process a refund through cash without even confirming the Visa card information. I had to talk to the boss and he called me a fraud! I am seriously offended that he said I am double dipping their company. I am not that desperate to do that to a corporate company first of all. Why would I come in and offer to pay a difference for trying to just get a cake instead of my money back?!?? I asked for any information they have on who came in and that I have my card and everything on hand to show that I never got my refund. I don't care if you gave someone else a $22 cash refund. You can have multiple customers coming in for some sort of refund. I told them it was not me or a refund to my card and he said I was lying. Seriously? Based on past experiences at other locations, I honestly didn't expect to have what I would consider a 5-star experience at a Baskin-Robins -- but I did, thanks to an employee by the name of Sara. Sara was upbeat, professional, and had a sense of humor that really worked for me on this extremely hot summer day when I walked in uttering self-critical comments about wanting to have some ice cream when, all the while, my inner child just wanted me to shut up and enjoy it already. Sara joked about how the calories don't count if no one sees you and how there's no shame in ordering a child size scoop if that's what I'm wanting. She patiently served my husband and me several samples of flavors and recommended we try the flavor of the month. Just when I told her which flavor I picked (chocolate peanut butter), she saw me eyeballing and uttering, "Ooooh....Mississippi Mud...that sounds good, too," she stopped before the scoop hit the ice cream and said, "Would you like to try a sample of that before you make a final decision?" I really appreciated that she did that -- I ended up ordering the Mississippi Mud - a full adult-sized scoop in a dipped cone with rainbow sprinkles, and I enjoyed every lick and bite. I made it a point to put something in the tip jar. People -- that glass vase at the register is not a "give a penny, take a penny." These young people are working hard, and Sara, in particular, is representing this company in a very positive way. If you can, drop a dollar or two in the vase to show your appreciation. The last four times that I have been to Baskin Robbins the servers scoop up a child sized scoop of ice cream. Such a disappointment. Especially when you're bringing family into town and want to take them out for a treat they get this little baby scoop of ice cream and pay full price. I love this Baskin Robbins - it is easy to access off Elk Grove Blvd; east of 99 freeway in a strip mall that has plenty of parking. I like the fact that it's an "old school" 31 flavor B&R and always has a wide variety of flavors. They usually have one freezer of sherbets, ices, yogurts, and sugar free options. Then another freezer with classics such as chocolate chip, butter peacan, strawberry, and then a final freezer that include the flavor of the month, specials, along with other B&R favorites such as Pralines and Cream, and World Class chocolate. They of course have a full freezer case full of ice cream cakes and pre packed tubs. The young teen workers usually are smiling as well as helpful whlie they offer you as many taste spoons as you desire. I signed up on the B&R website to obtain their specials which sometimes include 99 cent scoops, or $1.31 scoops. That is cheaper than Thirfty ice cream and it tastes much better! Highly recommend this B & R to those that like a variety of choices in their ice cream flavors. read more
