We said to-go, thinking they'd deconstruct it, but when we got home, all of our ice cream had melted. They always have a special sundae, which I believe changes every week or every few days. You can always count on chocolate and vanilla being available, plus a special flavor that rotates. It's a small spot with limited seating, but the customer service is always great. A flock of high school boys stood in line forever supposedly "ordering," while apparently their real objective was flirting with the girls behind the counter. Meanwhile, the employees seemed far more interested in entertaining them than actually serving customers. The Gen Z stare I got from the employees was honestly hysterical. Unfortunately, the Marine Corps veteran in me was telling me to stay serious and observe the circus. And what made it even better? THREE girls were behind the counter, and somehow none of them seemed particularly concerned with the actual customers waiting to be served. All three had their attention locked onto this chopped-up crew of teenage boys who, I might add, smelled like they had just crawled out of a DC sewer. I'm not expecting five-star service at an ice cream shop. I'm expecting basic professionalism: acknowledge customers, take their orders, and do your job. To the owner: please find a team that understands the difference between working a shift and hanging out at a high school social event. Not sure if they put club members birthdays up there or what, but it was nice to see. A super cute thing I saw was their personally branded water bottles!
