I was glad they added a drive thru, but they should make sure their employees can remember an order for more than 5 seconds. I ordered two quarts of hand packed chocolate chip ice cream, and when I got home, discovered I had chocolate. I guess I learned an age old lesson - they f--k you at the drive thru, and don't be lazy. Go in and get it yourself. I went to the Carson City, NV location twice in the same week and realized on my second visit that they overcharged me by a dollar for the same item on my first visit. Since I still had both receipts that were date and time stamped, I contacted the store manager by email once home and she said there was nothing she could do about it since it was too long ago, (it had been 4 days), she didn't know who worked that afternoon, (not sure why it mattered, but she has employee records she could check since only two people were there), and she didn't know what I ordered, (they have numerous cameras monitoring your every move there so she could have looked at the footage to verify what I was eating since I ate it there). She just told me to watch my receipts in the future so it doesn't happen again. I feel that is a copout and bad business practice. She should have at least offered a gift card for the overcharged amount. Her non-chalant attitude about it almost made me feel as though it was a ploy to get extra money from customers. I gave my review two stars merely because the ice-cream was delicious, and although there was an error ringing me up, the staff was at least very pleasant both times. It was just the manager that was dismissive. So just make sure to look at your receipt and verify that you paid for what you got. Ice cream in Carson City is hard to get - at least a good ice cream. Since small business have a hard time keeping employees and paying good $$ to keep the good ones the only thing that helps is to have good customer service. I was at basking robins on Friday and Saturday and the kids- teens that work there are awesome!!! Responsible and seem to know what good customer service is. We ordered 3 different ice creams /different servings with specific requests and they got it right the first time and served us pretty quickly. Very friendly too!! I've been going to this location and through this drive thru for forever and I've never ever experienced such disrespect like i did tonight. We went through the drive thru and it took 5-10 minutes before they asked for our order. On top of that, when we ordered each ice cream they would ask "is that all" in a disrespectful manner. Once we ordered and got to the window, the three girls that were working were standing around, laughing, talking, looking at us, and rolling their eyes. Went to this location at about 6 PM on a Saturday. First of all, the line in the drive thru was about 4 cars deep but it took SO LONG. I just assumed that maybe they were slammed inside. When I finally got up to the window I could see in the lobby and there was absolutely nobody. Why was this taking so long?! Next, my order. I ordered one hand packed quart of ice cream and a milk shake. When the girl handed me the quart I noticed it was unusually light. I popped the lid off and it was only 3/4 of the way full, lightly packed. I mean they didn't even try to fill this thing up all the way. I waved the girl down to come back to the window and showed her the container. She said "oh, do you want it filled all the way?" UH YES. I didn't just pay $8 for hand packed air! I request Lemon Custard every time I come in. It seems a summer flavor to me. It is only carried for a few months out of the year. I would like to request that it be carried year-round. Overpriced!!!! I bought a two scoop hot fudge sundae and the guy used a small container where the ice cream barely fit. And squirted maybe 2 tablespoons of hot fudge on it which was falling over the side. I'm giving this place two stars because of the customer service. My family and I came in around 8:45 at night on a Saturday night and these two girls were working. They didn't even care to say we will be right with you or anything and completely ignored us. One girl was doing a drive through order and the other one was washing dishes. Finally the one washing dishes finished and turned around to say what can I get for you. Didn't even wash her hands to handle my food. We noticed these two girls were so focused on getting the store cleaned instead of customer service so that they could be done at 10pm when they closed. We could tell they were doing all their closing procedures, such as cleaning bathrooms, prepping the freezers, etc. I was not very pleased about my experience. And to add on, they hadn't kept up with the cleanliness of the store. Tables were dirty along with food and trash all over the floor. Only one girl was scooping ice cream (in between all the talking and goofing off), while her coworkers were busy not working. One girl was in the dining area playing with a boy's hair and face. There was not one customer in sight in the dining area besides the boyfriend. I'm glad they have fun at work but while so many people are in line? Really? It took 20+ minutes to get ice cream. Ridiculous. These teenagers girls should not be working alone on a Friday night. We didn't see an adult or supervisor anywhere. I'm pretty sure it's against the health code to eat pizza around the ice cream and food prep area. Yuck. Get someone there to supervise! read more

Employees being abused. We walked in (first time) around 3pm on a Saturday. A 30 yr old female worker's tone of voice caught my attention. She was scolding a young Asian male worker because his arm supposedly touch the inside of the ice cream barrel. She completely emasculated him in front of customers. Then she punished him by ordering him to "go clean up the mess" meaning the customer dining area. I felt bad for the kid and asked him if he was ok. He replied that it was his own mistake. I reassured him that abuse is not acceptable for any reason. My husband and I agreed that the female worker was hyper and probably on something. It's a scary place, we won't be back. I was in the drive thru for 25 minutes i then called and asked why the line was not moving i was then told by an employee that they where training a new employee. When i finally placed my order of 2 ice creams one of which was a 1 scoop of chocolate fudge and the other was a double scoop of rocky road and mint chocolate chip. When i pulled up to the counter to pay my total was $7.49 and i asked for a manger. The girl told me there was no manger in duty at the time so i then asked for the person in charge and then a employee by the name of Jared came to the window and i asked what was taking so long and i told him the customer service was horrible and that i am a store manger and this was unacceptable. He then just stared at me and said "oh well" i then said the least you can do is compensate your customers for waiting 25 minutes in the line. And he just continued to stare as i handed my card over to the lady to pay for my ice cream. I then asked for corporate's number and when she came back she then said " we don't have corporate's number " so then i asked " well then can I have your store managers number because this is really unacceptable" they continued to say they where unable to give that information out so i had them take down my name and phone number to be contacted back. I then asked for the store managers name and i was told " Bally " and "christy" when i was handed over my ice cream i asked the girl to put lids on the ice cream and put in a bag. She did . I then drove off to my destination. And when I reached my destination and open the bag I then found the two ice cream's with lids on them but no spoons in the bag. Then I called back to the store and Jared answered and I told him that there was no spoons and that I had already reached my destination he then just said sorry and hung up . I was extremely dissatisfied with this customer service that I received today I have never in my life received customer service where i waited so long and got nothing in return but rudeness. My daughter went to get an ice cream with her friend. The server Aaron was not trained properly. I gave my daughter ten dollars. She came back home shortchanged. She didn't realize it until she got home later that evening. She called next day and asked to talk to the manager and they said they couldn't talk to them. She went in person and finally got the supervisor. She told her about the transaction and explained that the cash register should be over by the short changed amount. They explained that any overages go into their tip jar. That seams a little sneaky. If my register was over I would train my employees better and explain that stealing from customers is not good for business. My daughter asked if they can review the camera footage and see the transaction. They said they would and get back to her. Well you guessed it they didn't. I don't care if a young person made the transaction. They should be treated with respect and this kind of situation should be treated with urgency. Obviously she is not making it up. She has the receipt and details. The employee was there the next day while she was talking to the supervisor. It is not the amount of money; it is the principle of the matter. As a business owner myself, I would never think of treating one of my customers like this no matter what age. I have refunded customers before just to make them happy. The charge came to ovcer $9.00 and when I said something I was told that I should have ordered a sundae in the first place and it would have been cheaper and it was too late for her to change it now. Why didn't she advise us in the first place? Of course we left no tip. The other thing is when you order a single scoop in a cup you get what looks like a junior scoop. I'm originally from Sacramento, came up to visit family and my dad surprised me by showing up to basking Robbins because he knows I love ice cream lol. Well upon arrival we were greeted not very friendly. A women told us there were 2 cars in the drive thru and a customer inside before us. Well we told her that would be fine we could wait, we weren't in any rush and too take her time, well a worker coming from the bathroom was told my the manager to wait in back to not give customers the wrong idea. And then goes on the say if we didn't have patience then that's too bad. My dad confronted her about asking what she meant by it and to speak with the manager. Well turns out she was the manager. My dad tried asking for her name and the GM number and she told us to get out and that she was going to call the cops if we didnt leave. Confused by her actions because nobody was attacking her in any way, we decided to leave with her screaming behind us telling to leave, she didn't want our business, and so on and so forth. Last times I went, they only had 2 people working and it took 25 min in the drive thru. When I asked how long it would take to make a milkshake, because I had to be back to work in 5 minutes, she told me it would take a while, so I left... both times. I just went today and ordered an Oreo'n'cookies Cappuccino blast. They gave me a Mocha blast and it was blah. No flavor at all. I couldn't have them redo the order because, again, I was on my lunch and they were slow. I had a friend come with me and she ordered the same thing and it was all ice chips.
