Staff is super to friendly, first time having Baskin-Robbin's and it was bomb! I'll be going back!

The young female employee was very rude. Couldn't understand English. I asked for a name on the birthday cake and she took a very old and dirty frosting cake writer out THAT WAS AN OLD STIFF FROSTING CAKE PACK LEFT UNDER THE COUNTER. NOT IN THE FRIDGE. NOTHING CAME OUT SO SHE STARTED SQUEEZING THE FROSTING CAP AND SMEARING ON SOMETHING. I was at the register and waiting for the cake. She brought it back. I paid. As i was leaving I saw an old dirty full trash can full of pink frosting cap smears of dried crusty frosting. It was disgusting to figure out the employee was smearing my frosting for my cake on an old full dirty trash can. That employee should be fired. She was laughing the entire time. Rubbing frosting on an old dirty trash can and then putting the frosting on a childs cake is unbelievable. So vile. NEVER GOING BACK THERE EVER AGAIN. The cake we found out was super old. This place needs to get new employees and they need to be taught proper cleanliness procedures. We threw the cake out and bought another one at the super market. Hmmm. A relatively long stream of negative reviews greeted me on Yelp as I prepared to summarize my recent experience. The fact that many of the posted reviews have no profile picture and a low count always gets my initial attention as suspect. This Baskin-Robbins isn't the easiest place to find or access and if you like a little more a local flair, I'd recommend Scoups in Downtown Carson. Gayle and I were here after coming back from a Reno Aces game last Friday night. I was craving a dish of ice cream and short of stopping for something in a mini-market freezer case, this Baskin-Robbins was it. I had a dish of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, while Gayle chose the Gold Medal Ribbon. Both were tasty as we sat down inside to enjoy our treat. Stopped into this Baskin Robbins location the other day for a couple of scoops. The ice cream is good. It's the Baskin Robbins standard, however you can also just get some pints from the grocery store for way less. This location does have a drive through but from what I can tell they up-charge you simply for going through the drive through. So make sure you go in at this location. The service here usually isn't great no matter whether you go in or drive through. Employees are often rude and inattentive or on their phone. There is a few tables inside to eat if you wanted to. At least the ice cream is good! read more

The gentleman at the counter spent the entire time making my Sunday while talking on the phone. He kept switching hands which is entirely unsanitary while touching his cell phone, which is probably the most disgusting item that anybody owns. He did not speak. Good English. My Sunday was made so poorly. I got three scoops of ice cream with peanut butter in the bottom of the cup and a very small touch of whipped cream on top. It was not what I would call Sunday. It was a very crappy cup filled with ice cream and then attempt at peanut butter at the bottom. I don't recommend this place at all. Don't come here don't bother. read more

This place at one time was a decent place where you could get the ice cream and shakes that they were known for. I went in a couple times recently and they refused to make milkshakes. I couldn't understand the guy talking but they just refused to make a shake. Maybe they were lazy or something but very frustrating. 1/22/24 Under new ownership, all family members.. Bad attitudes and super slow service. One employee who obviously hated being there. got a quart of ice cream and it wasn't even a full container. not weighed. The exterior menu is old, falling apart and looks like its been sun bleached for 20 years. a hand written piece of paper on the menu says "Cash Only" and on the intercom when ordering he asks "Do you have cash? We went to check out the flavour of the month (turned out to be USS Butterscotch) but since I don't like butterscotch, I quickly changed my mind. Moose Tracks is my favorite ice cream; Unfortunately for me, they don't carry it. I settled for a scoop of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Very Berry Strawberry. The pbc was average and not a strong representation of true peanut butter cups. Then came a recurring suggestion of rum in the background. Salvaged! Another silent triumph from the folks at BR! The VB strawberry was a tad less exciting but went down fast and smooth, just the same. Our friends did something smart. They started to get two scoops, but for a little bit more money they figured a pre-packed quart was a better deal. They they got a single scoop of the icing on top and it was reported to be delicious. Good sized amount of ice cream and even though no one asked for a lid, the server was happy to apply one. We had ordered a turkey cake for Thanksgiving, and when it was not quite the same as the one in the commercial, we notified BR, and the owner got back to us right away offering us our choice of a replacement or refund. Guy spent the whole time on his phone talking to someone else. He also was just staring at me and so I wasn't sure if he was ready to take my order or not until the older gentleman physically asked me if I was ready. Younger kid needs to learn to stay off his phone especially when taking someone's order. Zero stars needs to be an option. It's been at least a year that this new "management" took over. They definitely did not take over this place to serve ice cream. They don't speak good English and are extremely rude. They can't even say hi or anything. I asked for a straw for my cup and he huffed and puffed. The scoops they give are super small. I have been here about 10 times since 2011 or so. They are located in Southgate Plaza, in the same building as Wingstop, Subway, Asian Nails, and Cricket Wireless. The building is just south of McDonald's and across the street from Courtyard by Marriott. You can see them from South Carson Street. There is never a long line here; it's Carson City after all. The employees, who have always been young, have always been nice to me, giving me a sample if needed. I usually get a scoop of ice cream in a cup. Their pralines and cream flavor is to die for! They also have single (so gender-neutral) men's and women's restrooms. Most Baskin-Robbins do not have these. And they feature a drive-thru too, which also is rare. Parking is easy, right in front usually. read more

The unicorn cake on the website, is absolutely adorable! What they don't tell you is the one that is pictured feeds 6 to 8 people, and is a two layer cake. When you order the larger size to feed 8 to 10 people, They fail to tell you that it is no longer a 2 layer cake but a single layer cake. Therefore.... the unicorn becomes flattened out and what I think, unattractive. The Franchise owner of Carson City, basically said sorry you ordered the wrong cake. And that was it! The headquarters responded with a completely Apologetic reply, and said they'd look into it. Sadly... I have gotten No response since then. I was not looking for a freebie. I was looking for better representation on the website so that someone else won't have to prepay for a cake that is truly Unacceptable. Bottomline... Ordered a Grill cake. Got a blob of frosting. As you can see from the pictures the cake looks nothing like the picture! When I called, to try to work the disaster of a cake out, Bonny who I think is the manager or owner blamed my 14yr old daughter for accepting the cake and then hung up on me! Some one at this shop needs to read How to Win Friends and Influence People!! It clearly wasn't a 14yr olds fault the cake looks awful. Ive been going to baskin for a while now and i go through the drive through to order for me and my family sometimes, and one of the workers blond young maybe 14-15 took my oder while she was taking another as i got up to the window she had totally forgotten our order. Idk if it is here but there is a couple workers who are on top of things. I believe he was the manager or something but he is on top of things and always gets my order correct! Unfortunately, no alternative but to give a one star, would have given a zero. Went into Baskin-Robbins on October 17, 2022 at about 7:00 pm with my daughter and husband. There was two young female employees and a male employee. As we were deciding on what we wanted, we observed the male employee wiping his nose with his hand and them we see one of young female employees spraying the can of whipped cream into his mouth. Needless to say we left. Attempted to call the store to give a heads up to manager or owner as this kind of behavior is not okay, I am thinking big health issues!
