I got a small scoop of the chocolate brownie ice cream (a classic) while my partner enjoyed their coffee chocolate chip. The kid working behind the counter was so sweet, friendly, and patient! The selection is top notch. The flavors are unique. Vegan options are aplenty. During my visits I've had the vegan Black Cherry, Lemon Poppyseed and Mint Oreo but have sampled oodles of others. All have been creamy and flavorful. Service is always on point here. I've gotten the same service when it is just me and when I'm there with eight students, a handful of chaperones and only one employee. Scoopers have always taken the time to provide samples, answer questions and scoop ice cream. Annapolis Ice Cream stickers and merch are on point as well. So creative and fun. Annapolis Ice Cream is definitely not the cheapest in the city but it is by far my favorite.

I don't know how they got this cookie to taste like banana pudding, but they did. Adding the white chocolate drizzle took it over the top for me. The second time I had the sweet potato cheesecake. I love sweet potatoes and I have not had a sweet potato dish or dessert that I didn't like. This cheesecake kept the streak alive. I'm assuming this is a seasonal dish, but I really wish it was a permanent item on the menu. If there was a way that I could eat this every day and not gain weight, I would. I'm hoping I can catch it again before the season changes and they moved on to some other cheesecake flavor. I'm pretty sure I was helped by the owner both times. I can't remember her name, but she was pleasant and gave great recommendations.

From what I hear, there are several Always Ice Cream shops now but I visited the location in West Annapolis. On a cold December evening we were able to get parking right out front and we received a cheerful greeting upon entering. Always Ice Cream has unique flavors so we had to study the menu a bit to decide what to get. The staff was great about answering our questions too along the lines of what's in . . .? In the end I had a single scoop but the staff was willing to do two half singles so I could try two flavors. For the record, I love that! I had Egg Nogg and another ice cream with a vanilla base that had a chocolate/fudge swirl and other good stuff mixed into it. Both were solid choices and I am looking forward to trying more flavors, especially as they change with the seasons. This is a small shop so there are only two two-top tables inside. We sat and ate a little bit of our ice cream before heading out. I'm already looking forward to the return.
