I was a huge fan of brewsters and this place usually has friendly and helpful staff. I usually come here a couple times a week to get ice cream quarts to go of mint chocolate chip which is my favorite. The other day when I was last there the young man who waited on me who had a ponytail almost down to his waist waited on me. He informed me that there was no mint chocolate chip that day unless I wanted gluten free. I am not about to try gluten free ice cream so I chose a different flavor. While I watched him pack my ice cream into the container I noticed he did not wear gloves while scooping my ice cream, I figured he washed them before he started scooping, but then I saw him reach back twice to pull his ponytail out of the way and with that same hand he continued to scoop out my ice cream. Why is he not required to wear a bun or a hairnet and/or gloves?. I was so paranoid I was going to find hair in my ice cream I didn't even want to eat it after witnessing that. I should have asked him to get me another one but I was pressed for time. for 8.50 a pint, I shouldn't have to worry about an employee's hair in my ice cream. I came to this Brusters 5 minutes ago. Their online hours show they close at 10pm and the sign posted at the location also shows they close at 10pm. We showed up at 9:30 and the employees ignored us and then turned the lights out on us as we waited at the front. If the employees decide to close early the need to update their hours. Great flavors with a huge variety. Freshly made everyday, and have new flavors all the time. My favorite is Dark Chocolate Raspberry Truffle in a waffle cone, does not disappoint. I like it so much that I get a text whenever they make that flavor. We first stopped by on National Ice Cream Day and waited maybe 10 minutes to order - there was a large line! Bruster's certainly delivered! A double-scoop in a waffle cone costs $4.81 and proved too much for me. I opted for Graham Central Station (graham cracker flavored with chocolate chips) and Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye. The Graham Central Station was fair--not really noteworthy, but the Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye (a lot like a moose tracks-type flavor) was really, really, really yummy! There were plenty of buckeye (chocolate and peanut butter pieces--kind of like Reese's Pieces on 'roids). I ordered The Man a waffle cone with Strawberries and Cream (eh... he thought it was okay) and Raspberry Swirl (loved it). Bruster's offers a rewards program punch card: buy 10 treats, and get the 11th one free. Also, they give kids 40" and under a free baby cone--gotta love that! On Thursdays, bring your own banana, and receive half off a banana split (regularly $5.25, I think). This is a walk-up type of place, and there are no benches available. The staff is friendly and helpful, and sampling is encouraged! I'll certainly go back for a special treat. Next time, I'll limit myself to a single scoop if I can help it! read more

Why didn't I know about this place right near my house before this?? I guess I always bypass this part of Forest Dr but it's right near the Clock Tower Market Place and totally convenient. Mint Chocolate Chip is my favorite flavor of all times and Bruster's didn't let me down. It wasn't a fluorescent green color like some of the other places like to dye it either. I always want to eat ice cream on a cold day but it hit the spot this week! Next time I'm going to get a pint of ice cream and take it home. It's not much more than a cone. Bruster's has a ridiculous amount of choices for ice cream, sherbert, sorbets, and sundaes. The menu choices are very overwhelming and you will be there for quite some time, trying to decide. I'm a fan of fruity flavors like cherry vanilla, Blackberry. Although every once in a while I will crave the Birthday cake and the Cotton Candy. I think they change out flavors almost every day, so it seems like there if something new every time I go there. You will get large portions. If you are only up for just a taste, I recommend the kid's "Dirt Cup". It has a kid size scoop of ice cream with Oreo crumbs and a gummy worm. Okay, so I won't lie, I really wanted the gummy worm. They do honor frequent buyers, buy 9 and get your 10th free. The only downfall of Brusters is the lack of fresh fruit topping. If that's what you crave, you need to go to Yofoire or Menchies. I waited 32 minutes for a single scoop cone... I guess waiting is my fault, but at the 20 minute mark I was just self-destructively mad and determined to get my scoop of Jamaican Me Crazy. The employees here were wandering aimlessly around in the back, carrying on conversations while slowly washing scoops and milkshake cups, and one was outside on a bench eating a monster scoop as slowly as he could. I love the ice cream here and would splurge for something special but I expected a good size scoop. I mean I can get a whole half gallon of decent ice cream at Safeway. Brusters... normally I love Brusters' food and service, but last night was a HORRIBLE experience. I went to Brusters with my brother, husband and pregnant sister, and I have never had such a horrible experience at a facility. The four of us stood in line for over a half an hour waiting for our ice cream... and the funny part is this: we were the first in line! Our cashier was so out of it... I'm not sure if he was high or what but come on now, 30 minutes for 4 people to get ice cream?! Then, to top it off, my husband gave his card to another cashier, he ran it, then our guy told us to have a good night... nothing wrong with that if I HAD MY ICE CREAM IN MY HAND! The overall experience at this location was horrible. We stood in line for an extended amount of time, had a cashier who referred to us as "dudes" and "brothers," and then my ice cream fell off my cone. The Brusters in Annapolis is AWFUL! Do not get me wrong though, I have been to Brusters in Mechanicsville and Frederick and had great service and ice cream but NEVER again am I going to the Brusters in Annapolis. Best chain ice cream I've tried, hands down. I love all the different flavors they had, and I decided to go with one scoop of tiramisu and one scoop of the white chocolate Oreo. Both were delicious, but the Oreo was way better than the tiramisu. I think that's cause of all the cream and cookie bits. This is a strange location, located on the end of strip mall. They have windows for ordering (no indoor seating or restrooms). I came with my nieces and waited for a while to be helped. Someone finally came to the window said "next" (mind you there are 4 windows and I was on the other end) So I ran over as fast as I could and she slammed the window and walked away?! So I continued to wait and the guy who took my order was fine and we got our ice cream. It was ok not the best but hit the craving.
