Customized Tide bowl-half chai seed, no honey added strawberries-no bee pollen added blueberries

Having previously been to Playa Bowls College Park, having had a delicious experience, I was ecstatic-when I began craving acai bowls-to discover Annapolis had a location! We opted to order online for two reasons: 1. Easier customization & 2. App discount codes! What I enjoy about Playa Bowls, compared to competitors, is while they offer a deliciously large variety of pre-made bowls, if a specific bowl doesn't quite hit the spot they allow for an even swap of ingredients (one for one-free of charge-easy to make alterations & customizations- & they allow going half & half on base flavors free of charge. Along with this, their prices for add-ons are very reasonable! I disagree with other reviews stating they are pricier- the free customizations alone makes them a better buy than competitors- honestly the flat bowl prices are about the same, but their servings are larger & they provide more topping combinations. For example- another franchise we often get allows for 1 crunchy, 2 fruits- while the Playa bowl I chose offered 2 crunchy, 3 fruits, and a protein. We ordered: Coco Craze: swapping the pineapple, coconut, and honey for almond butter, kiwi, and hemp seeds- also splitting half coconut blend base with half acai base- I loved the creaminess of the coconut- and the fruit chunks were large, fresh, and juicy- they provided massive scoops of almond butter and a thick layer of granola Nica Banana: smothered toppings- just beyond packed with ingredient- trying to mix them all up they were just falling out the sides from being stuffed! I loved the creamy banana blend-which had chunks of banana throughout Tide Banana: replacing pineapple, honey, and bee pollen with blueberries, strawberries, and peanut butter. Again large fresh, juicy fruit chunks, with massive scoops of peanut butter and a thick layer of granola A must visit, will go again, want to try all the combinations, and very excited to see there are rotating special bowls-mixing things up! Friendly staff, easy to order on the app, made fresh to order, right on time. Ample parking lot spaces to pop in and out!

Hello there Playa Bowls Annapolis! Ever since participating in a Yelp event for the Playa Bowls location in Baltimore, I have been hooked! However, I have yet to find myself back in that part of town. Needless to say, I found myself in Annapolis for a medical appointment and since I basically had a busy day of health appointments, I wanted a quick and healthy breakfast to enjoy between appointments. I stopped by Playa Bowls on a Monday morning around 9:45 and it was empty. I was able to walk right up and place my order. Ever since I had the Electric Mermaid, I knew I had to get it again so that's what I got. The Electric Mermaid has a pitaya base and is topped with granola, kiwi, mango, pineapple, and coconut. Finally, it's drizzled with a touch of honey. I planned to take my bowl with me to my next appointment but couldn't resist. I devoured it right in the car before leaving. Let me just say that Playa Bowls has the smoothie bowl game on lock! They have various bases for the bowls with a variety of topping combinations. After looking at the extensive menu, if nothing strikes your fancy, you still have the ability to create and customize a bowl any way you wish. In addition to smoothie bowls, they sell smoothies, freshly pressed juices and oatmeal bowls. It's the perfect place to grab a healthy, fresh breakfast or snack. I really hope to see Playa Bowls expand even further. Since I now live in Howard County, I'd love to see a location in my county or at least in western Anne Arundel (Odenton, Gambrills, Crofton area).

Playa Coconut Berry bowl w/ blueberries, strawberries and pineapple, and granola w/coconut chips.

had the coconut base with blueberries, strawberries and pineapple with coconut chips on top...and granola. I added vanilla whey protein. It rocked my world. I liked that I could customize it. Will be back.

Hands down the best location for Playa Bowls. I have frequented a few different locations and overall, the cleanliness of this storefront is impeccable, the bathroom is always fully stocked, the ingredients are fresh, the entire area smells of pineapples, and the staff is enthusiastic and forever friendly. This is our go-to spot for acai bowls after a gym session or even dessert after dinner. It is well worth the 30+ minute drive and $12+ bowls.

This is literally my favorite açaí place in the area. I haven't found one yet that can beat it. I don't necessarily care for their "coffee" but their bowls are unbeatable.

Great bowls you can customize by adding more fruit or other yummy ingredients. Use the application so you can order your bowl and minimize the waiting time.

I actually came Thursday morning and ended up leaving because the line was long. I didn't have time to wait just to order and then wait again for food. On Friday, I did it the smarter way and ordered ahead online, then picked up from the Mad Eggs food truck in the rear, which worked out way better. I went for breakfast and ordered a scrapple, egg, and cheese biscuit ($10) and breakfast tots ($4.25). The order took about 20 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad considering how packed it was around 9:00 a.m. I even noticed people waiting in their cars before heading up to the truck, so the timing felt realistic given the volume. If I had more time, I would've waited without an issue. Food-wise, everything was good, but I had mixed feelings. The biscuit sandwich tasted fine, but for $10, I expected more. It wasn't loaded, and at that price point it just didn't quite make sense to me--I know that sounds sarcastic, but it's hard not to compare when it's a simple scrapple, egg, and cheese. The breakfast tots, on the other hand, were the better deal. I liked these a lot. The portion made more sense for the price, and I really liked that you're encouraged to customize them. That part was right up my alley. With all the topping options, I do wish they offered a sauce or gravy option (like sausage or country gravy), but even without that, this is something I'd order again and again. The coffeehouse itself is small but clean and quaint, with a few tables. Parking out front is very limited--maybe five cars--but there's more space in the back near the food truck, and there's a rear entrance, which is probably the best move. Staff was friendly and efficient, and even from inside you can tell things are run pretty smoothly. I don't drink coffee, so I can't speak to that side much, but I've had food brought home from here before by my wife and really enjoyed the matcha tea smoothie in the past. Overall, I'd definitely return. I think Rise Up does a good job in general, and I've enjoyed their Severna Park and downtown Annapolis locations before. I just expected more out of a $10 biscuit sandwich--but I'd happily come back for the tots and other menu items.

No wait to order, and the food took maybe about 5 minutes to come out while it was being made. On my 2 visits I ordered sandwiches: a Turkey Reuben (my favorite of the 2) and a Corned Beef Pastrami Reuben, both with Russian dressing, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut. Each came with fries, coleslaw, and a dill pickle. The portions were on point -- definitely a lot of food for the price -- and the quality really stood out. Everything tasted fresh and well put together, and the menu has a really big selection, which is always a plus. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the place itself was very clean. Noise level was moderate, lighting was good with a mix of natural and fluorescent light. There is seating available, but from what I've seen, most people grab their food and go. The location is convenient too, sitting right around the corner from Annapolis High School. Overall, I don't really have anything negative to say -- I like it just how it is. I've already recommended it to several people and would definitely come back again. This place is a gem.

When his cart arrived below it fell over, thus causing him to fall on top of the cart. Because there is no way for a customer to stop the escalator at the bottom, the woman directly behind him and her cart fell on top of my husband! We all yelled "help" to stop the stairs. While employees did come to our assistance--and fortunately no one was injured--I discovered upon returning to the store the following: Tostop the escalator if there is a mishap, an employee (if they are within earshot) can come down the stairs and turn a key. When I expressed my dismay to the manager, Cynthia, I was told me there was "nothing she could do about it" and "no one got hurt anyway". Her attitude was dismissive and almost argumentative. I replied I wanted to speak with her directly to put better safety standards in place, rather than post on social media. She replied, "People can post whatever they want." I do not believe this level of customer service is anywhere near acceptable. The escalator is a potential danger. Escalators that carry groceries only (such as those in Target) are far safer. Had the Whole Foods escalator been full, many people--including seniors and children--could have been injured. This is a safety hazard that management should address with concern and empathy--not just dismiss.
